unfortunately, after three days of having my phone getting uncomfortably hot, i went back to a stock based rom. i do miss the little fella (crDroid) but can't have my device getting stupid hot.. has anyone else experienced this?

i'd love to use this rom as my main driver. EMUI's incomplete ui theming just pisses me off.
@DarkJoker360, is it possible you explain which twrp is required and which allows for full device backup. the one in OP isn't for the P20 lite and it doesn't work, i don't quite understand why it's there. perhaps i'm missing something, i'm not that smart after all.
also, i'd like to know if my overheating issues are normal or i've done something wrong..

I've been running it for about 4 days now, I haven't had any weird heating issues, phones actually much more fluid, as far as twrp, I'm using the same one I used on my last emui based ROM, no backup ability, I wish someone would figure that issue out, otherwise this is the new daily driver...

I've been using this one, from the Morfuz3.4 thread, like I said, still no backup or restore functions, which really sucks when running thru all these trebled ROMs lol, but it does work quite well otherwise

awesome, i've that one installed  thanks!
imma give it another go as EMUI annoys me.

i've been able to do a backup of MorfuZ V3.4 with that twrp though. even if i've only tried a data restore, it's good enough for me :)

Hello I am a newbie in this. Could you please tell me which ROM is stable to flash on P20 lite and will give me stock android experience. I don't like emui design.

Install this, its very stable for me, been running it for about a week almost with zero issues, very stock appearance as well. U will loose that huawei camera app tho, and the aosp equivalents don't utilize the cameras as good as they could, other than that the ROM is dope

Hello I am a newbie in this. Could you please tell me which ROM is stable to flash on P20 lite and will give me stock android experience. I don't like emui design.

well, let me share with you what's worked for me so far.
i'm assuming you've got adb and fastboot working, that you have a basic understanding of how to use command line, and that your device's bootloader is unlocked.
before even starting, i downloaded all files in OP (crDroid, gapps & Magisk) you might have to edit the update script as mentioned earlier in this thread but here's mine. and copied them onto the phone's microsd.

then downloaded this twrp. i found it in the MorfuZ threat and @jaysrp pointed out it works best. the recovery_ramdisk.img is in de data folder in the zip.

before this rom was released, i had MorfuZ v3.4 running so i did an erecovery restore to get back to stock.
i tried to go from MorfuZ to crDroid and i got a bootloop. after the first boot and skipping all configuration, i made sure OEM Unlock & USB debugging were enabled under settings>developer options

powered my phone off, held Vol- and plugged the usb cable in. the cable's plugged into my computer.
flash with
Code:
fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk recovery_ramdisk.img
then
Code:
fastboot reboot
as i did that, i unplugged the phone from the computer and held Vol+ to boot into twrp.
once there, i followed the OP install instructions:
go to TWRP, format data and a full wipe (system, data, cache, dalvik/art cache)
install crDroid rom
flash gapps and magisk
rebooted

note that in twrp, if you press on Install and view the internal storage, the folder names are all gibberish (encryption not supported in this twrp?) so after this, whatever i wanna flash, i copy it on the microsd, just to be sure it'll be accessible from twrp..

i've also installed xposed-v90-sdk27-arm64-beta3 with success if that's something you'd be interested in. just remember to wipe cache and dalvik after and expect a longer than usual first boot.

now that's for the installation. as for user experience, i've noticed the device gets a bit hot while charging and i'm not exactly sure if fast charge works as expected with the vendor's charger the device still charges pretty fast so i suppose it is. android 8.1 runs smoothly. i love it <3. i haven't encountered any performance issues and i'm very happy with it so far.

Need

I discovered a huge bug :p
I clicked on the option to wipe the device on settings and the phone just wouldn't turn on after. I was hours trying to get this working. Finally I'm back to the stock ROM, possibly gonna install this one again and give it another go.

Hello friend, you could pass me the stock ROM for MEGA, I really need it. Thanks.

Bluetooth

Hi.

I have a P20 lite with stock ROM. One of the issues I have though is with the bluetooth on the phone and syncing to my smartwatch - it just don't work.

Does this ROM use the same bluetooth drivers/configuration as the stock ROM ?

Thanks

Which recovery should I use to flash this ROM? Since the recovery mentioned on the first post seems not to be available.
