I'm currently using OmniROM Pie Alpha 3. If you need some help installing that, let me know.
Nearly everything works on it, NFC, flashlight, google pay etc. There are a few odd bugs here and there but nothing major. Been running it for a few weeks now and very happy.
These forums are dead. No sure if its because it's just not a popular phone, or the fact treble has made it pointless.

The notch on omnirom is crap and looks awful. It's not even close to the correct size. In my opinion phh treble works better

I see this forum is dead unfortunately... And every ROM on this forum making problems with bootloop, or stuck on checking updates when i turn it on...
I'll try install elemental rom again, but if omnirom is good, i want to install it, so could you write what i must do to make a correct installation?

I'll do what I can from memory.

Now firstly, this is what I did, unsure if it is the correct procedure and people may say a lot of my steps could be missed, but here we go.

  1. I download the official stock firmware. Personally, I used this thread, but make sure it is for your correct model. Use firmware finder or another source.
  2. Use HuRUpdater from here. This process will wipe your device (excluding SD card). Oh yeah and SD card is essential with this.
  3. This process will not lock the bootloader either, but it will install stock recovery. You use HuRUpdater in TWRP. If the install process fails for any reason, try another TWRP.
  4. Once installed you must reboot into recovery. You can do this in the reboot menu on TWRP. You will reboot into stock recovery. Do a factory reset and then delete cache.
  5. You will need to flash the openkirin ROM I linked you to previously. Flash it in fastboot, system image.
  6. Reboot again to stock recovery and perform another factory reset and delete cache. Reboot
  7. At this point I was in and working. The only thing that you need to do at this point is install Magisk (I didn't use 18, I went for 17.3). Also, if you want NFC, use Magisk and search for the module NFC4PRA-GSI. This is essential in getting NFC to work. If you don't use it, skip it.

Sorry the list isn't more detailed, but I'm sure you can pick it up. Let me know of any issues and I can try to help you.

Known issues I've found:

When headphones are connected and used and then removed, sound will no longer work on the speaker. You need to reboot to fix.
Camera can sometimes be buggy, especially when using the flash to take photos. Huge delays.
I'm having issues with bluetooth. It flat out fails to connect to be fitbit, but I've given up trying to fix it.

Need sd card.
need to download:
1. open gaps ARM64 android 9 PICO or NANO
2. one of ROMS:
2.1 Descendant ROM android 9 ARM64, A only (clik on image), works great, only bug for me was gotcha dont work with pokemon go, but it maybe be related in aplication itslef, becasue pokemon dont suport android 9 with pokemon go plus right now..
2.2 AospExtended ROM, (20181219 version dont boot) there might be problems with NFC, i i dont use it, dont know!
2.3 unzip rom to get system.img file
3. TWRP
3.1 treble suport (data en/decryption dont work)
3.2 EMUI suport (actualy dont need this)
4. Need your model firmware finder files. (use FullOTA files)
Like for me need ANE-LX1C432B166 (latest), but single sim are L01, dual sim are L21. As i got dual sim, i need to download /update_full_ANE-L21_hw_eu.zip and dont need other with L01 and vice versa!
for c432:
update.zip

update_full_ANE-L01_hw_eu.zip (single sim)
update_full_ANE-L21_hw_eu.zip (dual sim)
4.1 need hurupdater
4.2 Rename files: as describet at hurupdater: https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-9/development/tool-flash-official-firmware-recovery-t3769279 (but dont rename twrp recovery img, we dont need it renamed)
5. copy all files to sd card:
HuRUpdater_0.4.zip;
update.zip;
update_all_hw.zip;
update_data_public.zip;
system.img (descendant ROM)
AospExtended-v6.1-arm64_aonly.img
open_gapps-arm64-9.0-pico-20181229.zip or nano
TWRP 3.2.1-0 April 8th build Round.img

Preperations done, starting flash/instals
1. flash twrp recovery 'TWRP 3.2.1-0 April 8th build Round.img'
2. boot into recovery
3. video in youtube (no sound) video 1 here, video 2 here .
4. after video you can flash same twrp and instal magisk zip for root.
5. with this method you can flash different rom.img file , becasue huruopdater 04.zip flashing return phone back to EMUI!

ps. thease 2 roms works good, and notch are kinda ok!

As soon as I can get a vps for building it.

At the moment I am rebasing all stuff on some blobs from Emui 9 in order to fix the last bugs like the blur in settings.

I want also to make specific device roms and not for generic hi6250. :)

    NOTE: These gapps are unofficial and are in beta stage so you can maybe face a lot of crases. It is recommended to install it after first boot and once installed you need to unistall Setup wizard because it will crash a lot !

    How to Enable Notch !!
    Add this string in the bottom of system/bin/getprop, this is a crypted file but it works.
    [ro.config.hw_notch_size]: [312,90,384,45]
    Warning: It can some temporary issues on UI

    Kernel GPL policy: We are not violating kernel gps policy because we are making a treble based rom, so it is just a system image. Kernel is the default one provided by Huawei in Emui 8.x

    Hallo hallo everyone,

    How can anyone even get through the setup of this ROM? Cause these processes keep stopping and even if I ignore everything:

    android.process.media
    google play services
    google play
    and even the pixel.setup process which then starts all over and crashes

    This is so unstable not even a BETA, more like an alpha XD, I experienced something like this on the phhusson treble experimentation of May, but at least I coulded have a bit of a fun, and this one I just can't, maybe it's my device I don't know.

    It's the European version ANE-LX1 C432 and right now has the version 8.0.0.146(C432) on it.

    I also tried flashing multiple times but it was still the same, also the 3 TWRP's I have tried were the pretoriano80 one, the kilroystyx one, and yours.

    As for now I will give a try to a new work from phhusson treble roms without twrp's.

    Yes you will :)

    Because when you "oem relock" your device won't get that security message "your device can't be trusted" which means it can be trusted again ;)

    That specific build 8.0.0.145 is for the Single SIM version of the phone and the 8.0.0.146 for the Dual/Hybrid Sim version ;)
