yes, you need to flash QK1 BL and Modem before you flash the rom. Follow the instructions and u will not have any problem.

A different launcher most likely will not resolve widget issues, but it won't hurt to try. If you've never used a replacement launcher, try Nova Launcher. Another option, though it may not work on Android 5.0.1, is Lawnchair.
