I have a i317m through koodo and experience sim card not detected when I install this. If I back up my efs folder, then restore the efs after I install this rom, will this correct the no sim card or does anyone know how to fix this problem. ....I'd really like to use this rom but can't with no service :(

Another quick question guys.....can i flash the s5 gui mod right after flashing the rom itself or let it boot, root, then flash it?

I found a cute little quirk today. I was running google maps for nav (I'm usually a rabid Waze monster) when I started Pandora to chill a bur in traffic. Everything was good until maps announced a turn. Then Pandora freaked and La Bohéme kicked up to double speed and choppy.

Likely an app issue with Pandora but I wonder if the TTS module is goofy.

Hastily spouted for your befuddlement

Flash directly after if ya want doesn't matter.

I had lag issues, but traced it back to an external sdcard problem. Try using your phone for a day or two with no external sdcard and see if the lag disappears.

Also, do you have a lot of files on either internal or external sd? I had read that too many .pdf's can cause lag on 4.4 so I put all my pdfs in Google drive and no longer store them on my device.

Also using the built in my files app a lot caused the thing to be constantly indexing which caused lag. I no longer use my files app.

Lastly I ended up having to backup my data and format the external sdcard in the phone and slowly add back files I needed a little at a time to solve my lag issues.

None of the lag I experienced was because of this ROM.

Thanks a million for this rom....loving it :), at first had a problem with sim not detected but received help and recommended to flash the rogers mk5 modem for my i317m, not a problem since.....I have the Canadian koodo note 2,.....would be helpful if you could add this fix to your flash instructions for us Canadians with koodo phones.

I have a 128 GB SD card so space is not a issue, I don't have anything besides ROMs music and video on it, I have no pdfs of any kind.

May want to check the read ahead settings for external card if using Agni kernel...
And yes...I agree with trying the device for a bit without the SD card...
I'm unsure of the file caching to SD....but if the KK framework is scanning or caching to the card every (insert time here)seconds...then it makes sense that the card could be giving you trouble...

Wish I knew more about the read/write states of SD...

And the timing or duration of files being scanned or being looked at by the OS...

Another possible solution would be looking into the app cache settings...and storage of app data being sent to SD...

Don't know brother...just brain storming a bit...g

Well, I was suggesting the fact that your lag could be related to 4 things. So it would be worth considering more than just the .pdfs tip.

1. Large number of files/folders on external sdcard. (ex. a bunch of titanium backups, music, photos, videos etc)

2. Your external sd card may need to be formated again (backup your data first!)

3. Pdf's MAY be causing lag.

4. My Files app indexing could be causing lag. (if you use it alot.)

I personally think something is different about the media scanner or indexing service or something regarding reading of external sd cards that has changed in Touchwiz 4.4 kitkat that it got way fussier. I did not have the issue with 4.3. I even flashed back when my phone was still acting up to 4.3 and sure enough everything was fine....flash back 4.4 and bam, issues. Until I found my problem. Lag sucks.

I am having a recent issue with this ROM. Until recently I had no issues at all. I am having random periods of sleep where the device loses data connectivity. I can still receive texts and calls, but I cannot use my data until I power-cycle the phone or enable and disable airplane mode again. No apps were installed, and before I reset the device I wanted to report the issue to see if there was a resolution to it.

I'm on AT&T Straight Talk. Using agni kernel.

Caller ID problem

Hey guys
This rom is awesome. I have only one issue right now. I think someone else posted about this as well. If I don't have the caller stored in my contacts the caller ID is shown as a bunch of scrambled symbols. Does anyone have a fix for this? I'm on stock kernel not sure if that helps. Thanks a lot.

Again, not a ROM problem!

It's a known Straight Talk problem. There is a long thread in Howard Forums about it. One of the reasons I only had them for 1 month.

Everything is running smoothly with the phone after I had to sideload the S5 keyboard because the other never worked and for some reason I can't transfer files through the USB cable.

Thanks for all the work don't know how you all do this but it's awesome!!

Update: I have never had a rom with such great battery life!! I've been flashing roms since my G1...Been on it 2 days and now I need to charge it :highfive:
