The first (very mildly) customized ROM for NVIDIA SHIELD... Tweaker.

For those who tried SHIELD on launch day (or early on before the OTA was applied), it had a dashboard with bigger graphics that were easier to read. Now, it's just icons. I don't like the icons. So a little bit of hacking together pieces (and adding SuperUser while I was at it) resulted in TweakerRom.

Don't expect much difference, at least not until I get CM-10.2 done for SHIELD. But this has a nicer interface, in my opinion, and is based on the latest OTA 1.1 release (with the SHIELD UI from the original image)

You need to install a SuperUser app (I highly recommend SuperSU) but you don't need to use recovery to do it.

Awesome! I'm glad to see the first step being made, but I'm going to hold out until 10.2. I'm getting lazy in my old-ish age.:silly:

I just finished Unlocking and Flashing your recovery when the download finished (YES I unlocked it just for this ROM). I have to say: I LOVE the interface, I never got to see it but it is SO much better! Thanks for pioneering the development over here, there isn't much at all... I plan to do some theming stuff once I get around to it XD

On most devices you have to be stock in order to update.

Yes, but this ROM is bascically the stock ota wit one app changed. The updater apk is still intact.

If you do not have the stock recovery then you cannot install the factory update. If you installed this rom you don't have the stock recovery.

Stock recovery is very easy to flash...you are not answering my question but rather proposing roadblocks.

All you asked was if you could get the update while having this rom. I did answer the question. Was not trying to be difficult. Next time I guess I will just say no and you figure can the rest out.

The SHIELD is a bit of an unusual exception here - most of their OTAs seem to be full system images, instead of delta patches.

While this makes the OTAs much larger, it also makes them much more robust.

Thank you flashed this and streaming is working perfectly again the image is sharp and no artifacts I don't need console mode
