nevermind. it must not be the kernel, because i downloaded the same kernel, and i still can't overclock as high as i could with megatron. i'm much happier with the look of this over megatron, however. if i could get a 800-1000 on quadrant, i'd be much more pleased with this over megatron. any idea how i can get more performance out of this rom? i'm not on 4.1 yet. will i get more performance out of it?

I think I updated the kernel in 4.1, but I don't remember. As far as quadrant, if you want the falsely inflated quadrant scores megatron has, flash your build.prop, there's a thread here with a build.prop that enables stagefright, or you can use root explorer or prop editor to edit the build.prop and change the lines for stagefright from false to true. Doing so usually gives people around 1100-1400 on this rom, depending on how far your phone will overclock.

Just curious if anyone has tried this rom with the Australian optimus one? I am going to try it out on my sister phone for her.

Where's the keyboard?

There was a great keyboard when I first installed this ROM, one with a swype action thing. I've since switched the phone off and on and it's disappeared, I'm back on the gingerbread keyboard(I think).

There's no other option in the keyboard setting, how do I get it back?

Solved - there was little round key to the bottom left of the keyboard that let me select the alternative keyboard

wifi calling is awesome

UD4 is a very stable rom great for everyday use! Unfortunately there is no longer any development on it which makes me want to try the newer roms out.

However, none of these roms are designed for the LG P509 T and do not have wifi calling.

Is there a way to take the wifi calling .apk from this rom and install it in say CM7 or any other p500 rom?

Any insight into this matter would be greatly appreciated by more than just me I'm sure. Thank you!

Updated UD4_Optimus

I feel that this rom is not getting the praise that it deserves. Also this rom was falling a little behind the times and the developers decided not to support it any longer (Why, this is such a great looking/functional rom. Please pickup support again. You will make allot of people happy). So I decided to update it a bit. I kept the rom the same but added the following changes.

Changes:

1. I ran this rom through the kitchen and added Mik_os' kernel.
2. Added /data/app functionality.
3. Added Apps2SD
4. Replaced PowerOff.apk because it was causing force shutdown messages and kept allot of people from using this great rom.
5. Replaced facebook apk (looked great but some people had issues).
6. Turned off stagefright.
7. Enabled jit.
Everything else is the same.

I recommend using SetCPU to overclock (great app worth the purchase).

INSTALL:

Install this rom at your own risk. I am not at fault for any thing not working or your phone breaking! This rom will also do a wipe as it installs.

•Boot in recovery
•Partition SD:
0.Swap
256 Ext(or higher)
Remaining:FAT32

Flash rom.

Just want to thank Joeseph Mother,one_love_420, and dodgejcr for this rom. (PLEASE O PLEASE start support of this rom again.) Dont forget to support the original authors.

This is an awesome ROM.....i was wondering if there is a way to fix or change the search button because when i press it to search for something on the web it goes to my call logs and when i press on it for a long time it goes to voice dialing...is there any way to change that?? thanks!

You won't get high scores because this rom does not have stage fright enabled. Stage fright tricks quadrent and makes it skip a test to get high scores. Stage fright also causes some videos to fail. I wouldn't use it.

Thanks for updating this ROM!

I've flashed my nook color many times, but the optimus T is my first smartphone (!) and I have a couple of newbie questions. I've already installed recovery and I've made a backup of my system/data etc on my sdcard. Would the "Partition SD" step wipe the sdcard? If so, does it mean I should put away the sdcard with my backup and use a new sdcard for this ROM?

One more question: I have requested unlocked code for my phone but I won't get it for a few days. Should I wait for the unlock code (and unlock a different sim card first) before I flash the new ROM?

Thanks for your patience and help :)

EDIT: newbie mistakes -- further search of the forum leads me to ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=10377391#post10377391 ); post #3 says that

"Partition Sdcard:
Partition SD: Partition's sdcard for apps2sd (this formats card so all non backed-up data is lost)"

so the partition step won't wipe the backup?

I know that a key part of xda is about experimenting, but this is my (only) backup so I'd be most appreciative if someone could confirm this :)

When you format your sd card you will loose everything.
