The link to ubports-touch.rootfs-armhf.tar.gz is not working anymore.
Also, I cannot install ubuntu-device-flash on my 18.04 ubuntu. This means that both versions, xenial and the older version cannot be installed at the moment.
Can I use
Code:
./rootstock-touch-install ubports-touch.rootfs-armhf.tar.gz system.img --custom device_titan_devel.tar.xz
to install a current rootfs?
Thank you very much in advance for your help,
Christian

When will be the new ROM available?
(I'm really exited to get a working Camera with my Moto G device...)

Hi, anything new?

Just checking out the post and threads, I'm really interested in reviving my old Moto G 2014 (XT1063) but now without any Android ROM, instead with a different Linux based OS, I've tried installing Sailfish OS but without any luck ( after uncountable tries :(), I hope Ubuntu Touch works well but it seems development has stopped (roofs link is broken), that is comprehensible since the world is tearing apart right now. I hope everything is well and you come back someday. I'll be waiting with hype.

The device seems not to start with the last updates. It stuck at the start-display 'ubuntu touch .....' What can I do?
After flashing the image with ubuntu-device-flash I got the same result.
Jan 23: With the update from today nothing has changed. Same today Jan 26.
Jan 29: No success.
Jan 30: No success.
Feb 03: No success.
Feb 04: No success.
Feb 07: No success.
Feb 10: No success.
Feb 12: Success! The system starts new but without any data.

I am also having this issue. The problem seems to be related with internet somehow. As long as I don't enable any internet connection, it works. As soon as I establish an internet connection (wifi or ethernet) it reboots in a constant loop.

Hi, I tried the command for installing 16.04 (I assume that it is only that command you need to run, as Zarosky's guide needs only that command other than the instructions for installing he ubuntu device flashing tool, and when i try it it gets quite far), but when I try it it gets about half way through pushing "ubuntuimages/pool/ubports-ff588f14edd1cd8a7dd7934a8c94537c428a2338b8214dd12bfbffff6a981457.tar.xz" to /cache/recovery/ on the device, and then says it has failed because "no space left on device". What should I do? Is the cache partition on my phone not big enough? It seems to get the ubports recovery menu loaded. I am using a Thea but I don't think this error is anything to do with that? The page for Thea version of postmarketos on their wiki says it is "This device is *literally* motorola-titan but with an 4G/LTE modem (and some under-the-hood regulator changes, but DT manages that), so they use a commonized kernel package." so I assume there is a good chance of your Titan version at least running?

I assume the rootfs file for which the link is dead for vivid version is dead and is not a generic one that I can find somewhere else? So i can't install vivid anymore? Thanks for the port anyway, and for still continuing to work on it!

    How to install

Do not forget to do a NANDROID backup before flashing anything.
You need to use Ubuntu AND a Motorola Moto G (2014) Unlocked

That's only flashable on Ubuntu/Linux because the rootstock software (flashing tool) doesn't exist on Windows OS

First if your data partition is F2FS you must change it to EXT4
Also i recommanded to use TWRP.

    Flash on you device,

    1. Download boot.img, system.zip (extract it), rootstock-ng-master.zip and device_titan_devel.tar.xz
    2. Reboot the device into fastboot mode
    3. Flash boot.img

    Code :
    Code:
    fastboot flash boot boot.img

    4. Boot the device back to recovery
    5. Wait until adb has started (use "adb devices" to check if it has started)
    6. Wipe system, cache and data partition

    7. Flash ubuntu root system and system.img using rootstock installer
    Code:
    Code:
    ./rootstock-touch-install ubports-touch.rootfs-armhf.tar.gz system.img --custom device_titan_devel.tar.xz

    8. After that it may boot ubuntu.

    How change data partition
    1. Reboot your phone to recovery mode
    2. use TWRP to change data partition
    3. To be sure that your partion is changed install any custom cm-13 or Lineageos rom

If you want use Ubuntu Touch with android, then just install any custom rom without wipe data partition, and just run this command in fastboot mode to start ubuntu
    Code:
    fastboot boot boot.img
    Updated 05-02-2018
Now you can install xenial version(WIP, not yet stable) . To do it :
    1- You need Ubuntu
2- reboot your device into bootloader mode
    3- run this code

    Code:
    sudo apt-get install ubuntu-device-flash
    sudo ubuntu-device-flash --verbose --server=https://system-image.ubports.com touch --device=titan --channel=16.04/community/walid/devel --bootstrap
Then, will download the files, and flash new recovery for ubuntu touch systems, soo wait a moment (10~15mins: network )
When all is done your device is reboot(so wait 5mins).
Note this will wipe your phone, and install Ubuntu Touch recovery.
    Thank you
