[Rom] [UMI Zero] - Miui 7 Port - Unofficial (Updated 17/Nov/2015)

Hi All,
I have decided to try and port the MIUI rom to UMI Zero,
Here's my work... (I am not a developer but I followed some instructions online and was able to make it at least for me...)
Probably there will be bugs - so let me know

I'll try to fix what I know...

Supported Languages:
All languages that are supported by Xiaomi.EU roms.

Credits:
Xiaomi.eu - for the translations and guides.
MiUIPro.Ru - for the base UMI Miui Rom.
NeedRom - for recovery files.
Harsh Navani - for the great tutorial.
Arcatarc - for his Bluetooth modules that solved my issues

*** Note from next week I will not have the UMI phone anymore...
I can make the roms but will not be able to verify...

Installations:
Important:
Prior to any install make sure to backup your existing ROM. (TWRP backup?) if you wish to backup your SMS/Contacts there are a bunch of apps that can do it... (MobilePro is an example)
Backup your IMEI just in case... (Use MobileUncle or similar)
If you chose to install - your warranty is void.
I am not responsible for any damage that may be caused by this ROM.

if coming from another rom/ Fresh install
as ususal... - I recomend a total wipe, but it is not a must....
Wipe Cache, Dalvik, Data, System, custpack.
Install Rom from SD card or internal memory
reboot.

To update (existing Miui Rom):
Copy rom to SD Card or External SD card)
Open updater app.
Click on the 3 dots
Chose select update file --> select your copied file.
Reboot

*** Make sure to disable OTA... as it is based on Redmi Note 3G MTK, and I can't promise to keep this forever...

Recovery:
I used TWRP 2.8.2.0 for UMI (can be downloaded from NEEDROM site)

Known issues - workarounds:
- MTP is not recognized by PC - go to developer settings and switch USB debug mode from whatever it is at, then your PC will identify the device (tested on Windows 10) - Fixed
- Themes customization - Clear theme app cache, open themes and quickly press customize.
Alternatively - try to switch off network (Flight mode) and open themes.
- missing icons - use alternate theme.

Welcome. Very good job with this rom - bravo! :good:
I test it and it is almost perfect, except for a few bugs that are present also in the original ROM MIUI, it also has own bugs
- The lack of some icons (clock, weather) in the default themes
- Do not save the settings themes (after a reboot back to the default)
- Drain the battery it is also too fast.
I hope that at least once in two weeks you issue your rom and not give up the topic because they go very well.
Regards and waiting for the next upgrade rom.

It's nice if you gave too on the MEGA server.
Yet such a question - it will be a full port 5.9.24 or only improved 5.9.17 ?

Hello, is the battery life improved in this update? And I noticed on the screenshots that it says 1,75 GB RAM. Is the phone using only 1,75GB instead of 2GB with this ROM?

This is just the display, it also will not show total ram in recent, only available ram
As for battery life, you tell me... I think it should be better.

Ok thanks, I will try it today

EDIT: Just installed the ROM, I will do some tests now

Hmm I don't know why, but I cant unlock the SIM, and I can't past the initial screen :/. I enter the PIN and then after a short while it asks me for the PIN again and again
EDIT2: I just reinstalled the ROM and now when I enter the PIN it just says: "Unlocking SIM card" forever... There must be some problem with the phone app.
Now I rebooted and I get constantly the error com.android.phone has stoppped working, even without the SIM card inserted
Sry but it isn't working for me

The problem PIN is an internal bugs MIUI 5.9.24. In 5.9.26 is improved.
