flashed from 14.1 to 16 with only wiping davlik/cache
installed latest magisk, which worked fine for me.

getting se linux not enforced warning - is this normal?

unfortunetaly i couldn't test much further yet, since after second reboot i'm getting that touch code loop :(

wifi working right from the start
bluetooth working better than 14.1

thank for this awesome ROM!

further testing:
wifi sometimes stops working until reboot
brightness sensor doest seem to work for adaptive screen

edit: link, bluetooth, formatting, further testing

I am using lineage-16.0-20210111-UNOFFICIAL-thor.zip, which is the newest listed as of this post. The install went smoothly, and the os itself is running slick with the exception of the wireless issue. The wireless connectivity seems to be crashed/down more often than working, and takes a reboot to get it back.

It appears to be on your list in post #3 already. If you want logs, I can take a look at grabbing some.

This is a newly rooted HDX7. The wireless was working with the original OS. Just an fyi. Thanks.

D*mn... Tried my forgotten thor, rooted on 13.3.1. 0, but unused for 6years now. Failed to boot to twrp (stuck on grey logo). Tried with twrp 3.5.0_9-0 and -1 by using flashify. Is there any other way to boot Into twrp?
If your bootloader is unlocked, you can try just "fastroot flash recovery <twrp file>.img" with ADB tools. After that, just hold volume up when force rebooting (holding power button until it reboots and keeping volume up held until recovery loads).

Now, I do have issues with the Wi-Fi dropping out. I have had to reboot this device... a lot.

Here is what I assume is the relevant dmesg output:

Its pretty much always the ath6kl firmware blob crashing right after a wifi scan, and it somehow depends on which networks are seen. Has been the same with the previous rom.
Speculative, might be the number of networks seen, or some special property of one seen network that crashes here.

which device are you on?
I'm not the guy you quoted, but I've had the WiFi drop on/before system finished booting several times. Sometimes it takes a number of reboots to start working. Sometimes it takes while to die. It's not especially predictable. I'm on Thor.

Ok, I'll add this to the list to look into
Thanks ggow You saved my 7 hdx! The double DD entry in twrp terminal saved my bricked tablet! I used your new TWRP 3.5 and the 9/24 lineage 16... with open_gapps-arm-9.0-pico-20210126.zip. All works fine! Battery life is fine if people use the settings to adjust for powersave up to full performance in battery settings! Great Work Thanks

On linage 16 9/24/20 the wifi has worked fine but doesnt show on status bar as active! No problem otherwise.... did a complete wipe of all and a shutdown/restart to recovery then installed. I have had 1 instance of using advanced restart and when selecting recovery it bootrf back to system? but ob doing it again went to TWRP fine. Hope this helps...

Battery should be a lot better in the most recent version as I put a workaround for the netmgrd service.
So the temps and battery life should be as good as can be again.

I followed all the instructions, including the two dd commands, and the flashing went fine.. using pico gapps. Then it refused to let me install google calendar.. ok.. I can live with that.. but gmail just didn't connect to the registered account.. any wouldn't let me add my address because that was already registered... so... now what? Has anyone else experienced this?

Grant permissions to gmail and it will work fine. Also you can side load google calendar. Download it from somewhere like apkmirror.

I've granted it pwemission to access accounts.. no go yet... The install of google calendar throws an unhelpful error when installing from playstore - what could cause that?.. but yes, I'll try the sideload. Also it now - after a factory reset - boots up and the screen just keeps flashing on and off . I see the lock screen and then it blinks back off - I can't even log in. Have you experienced this? I'm going to start over from scratch and reflash the OS ... and try the perms and sideload... thanks for the fast response!

Some google apps from playstore have always been problematic, think it's to do with our device been picked as not suitable based on the device fingerprint. Played the game of changing it periodically but it works for while then gets picked up again.

Don't set a unlock pattern or pin yet. Somewhere in this thread it's linked where you can remove the pin or pattern without having to start over.

For gmail, not sure will try it on my tablet and let you know.

I installed Jan 11th rom! Used updated TWRP 9.1 and did a normal wipe... Its Great !! Thanks the wifi shows connected now on the status bar and works fine on thor. Gmail acts up signing in and returns to add another account? BUT there is MyMail and i set it up just fine with my gmail acct! And I installed Simple Calendar....good to go! So far so good! Your the man!! I prefer to not be in deep with google anymore than amazon....

It acts up... see above... but why load the fast rom and older tablet down with google stuff? Its a drag on the tablet and data stream.... I'm also using Brave Browser trying to keep chatter down online and keep this tablet clean and fast! Great Rom ggow!!!
