hey my friend i hope you are ok.
i hope we can have a zram lz4 build soon :)

i discovered some simple thing.

i downgraded to january release (before the wifi watchdog battery drain apears.)
the main culprit for our wifi problems is 5ghz (i dont know why the drivers dont work) but as like in windows drivers for wifi you can force to use 2.4ghz wifi only. i did the same
WCNSS_qcom_cfg.ini

BandCapability=
#Preferred band (both or 2.4 only or 5 only)

gChannelBondingMode24GHz=1 should enable 300mb/s instead of 150
this can happen dont work on 4.4 kernel :/
The presense of nearby 5Ghz signals (from your AP or elsewhere) has always been problematic for the HDX kernel while running a custom ROM. Some ROMs and builds are more tolerant than others; do not know why. Called this out 5 years ago.

Forgive me if this has already been covered or if I'm somehow working with a different release (I'll have to doublecheck @ lunch). A few months back I installed the OS (thor) and kept getting booted into twrp. I typed the commands into the terminal and now it boots. However, at the lock screen it keeps doing a screen on/off dance and I can't get past it. Anybody know what that's about?

Make sure you're not setting a lockscreen pin, which doesn't work yet.

Thanks for the reply! I completely forgot to update my previous post. Turns out, it is 14 that I have installed. However, I think you nailed the issue. I forgot I had it somewhat set up before it gave me problems, and I'm pretty sure I did put a lock on it. I did a wipe of it yesterday and so far I've been having no issues!

You saved me a lot of headaches. Flashed it twice already and had it all setup before my first reboot...

Guess the "- [todo] Lock pattern, pin bootloop" kinda went over my head.

Is there another way to secure my device?

    Happy new year everyone!

I have been working on prototyping lineage-17.1. I got it to boot today but it's broken quite severely. Bluetooth is borked completely, USB doesn't work correctly (MTP + ADB). The old and antiquated compat-wireless wifi module will need a lot of work to make it buildable, let alone function on any level.

I'll continue with lineage-16.0 for now and see how much improvement can be made there.

I am nearly done testing a new version of the compat-wireless driver in order to fix several problems.
The module now loads cleanly first time, no need for forcing a second reload anymore. On the thor device for me at least there have been no disconnects yet and no firmware crashing.

I am in the process of now testing apollo. Providing that goes well then I will make a new release shortly. The new build will only have the new WiFi stuff and upstream updates. I don't want to change too much whilst trying to establish stable WiFi connectivity.

I have a TalkTalk Sagecom Fast 5364 router, it's very basic but gives rock solid reliable WiFi on 2.4 and 5GHz. My previous router was a Asus RT-AC86U, which I returned during the Christmas holidays, it's the buggiest bit of tech that I have ever laid my hands on. After nearly 12 months of struggling with unreliable connectivity I gave up and got a refund.
