After flashing LOS 17 in TWRP and rebooting only fastboot is appearing.
I did the following - what was wrong?

1. Coming from miui eu version (xiaomi.eu_multi_HMK20ProMI9TPro_V11.0.4.0.QFKCNXM_v11-10)
2. Format Data
3. Install lineage-17.0-20191124-UNOFFICIAL-raphael
4. Install open_gapps-arm64-10.0-micro-20191114-BETA
5. reboot-->fastboot screen

Thanks for your help!

I think vendor/firmware might be the problem. Actually I was told that coming from miui eu would solve this problem and I wouldn't need to flash vendor again.
So if I want to flash vendor/firmware again manually (as written in op): How do I know what version I need?
I'm happy to hear other solutions, too.

@abhishek987 so I have OC my screen to 90Hz (telegram LenScreenOC) and the system and native apps run smoothly but many apps use webview and its capped at 60Hz. I have heard that pixel 4, OP7T/Pro are on some kind of whitelist for Android webview which allows higher FPS.

would be really awesome if you could take a look at it.

THANK YOU

I have no 90Hz device to compare but when you switch between native apps and webview apps like for example:
Retro Music Player (OC Hz) vs Materialistic - Hacker News (60Hz)

If you scroll fast you can still read the text in Retro, but materialistic is to blurry.

Overall you will feel the 90Hz most if you are back to 60Hz. So you feel it most when it's missing ;)

Works great except for a couple of minor problems

I've flashed the 2019-12-09 version (with nano GApps) on my new Mi 9T Pro with the latest global MIUI without any problems and globally it works great. I do see some minor problems here and there after using it for a couple of days though:

  • One which is perfectly reproducible is that Trebuchet force closes when going through the list of recent apps. This is even though I don't use it, as I installed Nova almost immediately.
  • More subjective, but the fingerprint reader seems much more error-prone than with MIUI (I didn't really use it, but tested unlocking the device and it never failed, while now it fails one time out of 3-4).
  • Also ran into a problem when changing the alarm ring tone: all of a sudden, all sounds stopped playing and I had to kill the settings app and restart it for them to play again.

Globally it's very good though, thanks for your work abhishek987!

Der all,
in the official miui, the fingerprint Sensor can used when the display is not turned on.
In the lineageos, i have to activate the display first, to use the fingerprint.

Die somebody has a solution for this?

Regards

In miu there is such a thing in the kernel log. gesture on the screen off. just need to find how we can use it.
88.312778] [GTP9886-DBG][gsx_gesture_ist:464] Gesture report, x=544, y=2021, overlapping_area=8, area=9
if anything, abhishek knows this, once told him.

I turned on ambient display when picking up the phone or waving above it. You can use the fingerprint then without having to push a button. This FP seems to be even more bugged than the 'normal' one though. Sometimes it just doesn't do anything. The other times it fails like 4 out of 5 times.

There's a double tap to turn on display gesture also. This is the 'normal' FP then.

what fw/v are you on? and what device do you have? also latest LOS17?
update: nvm, I tried flashing 90Hz. Aida and similar apps reports I have a 90Hz display. testufo reports I have 60Hz.

I tried a dirty flash of 9/12. All apps worked but fingerprint sensor was not usable.
A clean flash improved the fingerprint sensor considerably, albeit still not as good as stock.
(Also I reinstalled apps using Titanium backup, with Developer options->Verify apps over USB set to off, which mostly worked. Some apps still had issues.)

Mostly the firmware is robust. Other issues I can see:
1. G-pay doesn't work for touch and pay.
2. Ambient display brightness is far brighter than brightness setting - which basically means you can't use it at night because far too bright
3. Settings crashes sometimes (i found this happens when deleting some apps)
4. Some GCam installs (e.g. Urnyx05-v1.5) leave the front camera extended. Note: Do not turn the phone off until a time out retraction occurs because otherwise you will need to re-flash stock

FOD is broken. It worked at first when I clean flashed LOS 17. Even have AOD off. Just rescanned my fingers again. Not a single recognition, eather from lockscreen or biometric authentication for apps.
Also reflashed the Rom (to replace the custom kernel) didn't helped.
Global MI 9T Pro with MIUI11 global fw & vendor

Have you searched the thread? Format data after setting up everything.

if I format data after setting it up, then I have to set it up again. It makes no sense.

And I did a full clean flash with Los 17, including /data format. Then it worked the first day. And then it stopped working
Listen I get it, you're frustrated a.s.o. but it won't help you to ignore what I said. There were several people (me included and yeah, I agree that it doesn't make much sense) with your exact problem and we got it solved by doing what I told you. Now, how about you search this thread for FPS (should yield quite some results) and start reading up on how to resolve YOUR issue.

And remember that selinux has to remain in permissive mode.

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 10, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review.
