Hi,

I just uploaded a new build that includes the November 2021 security patches to AndroidFileHost. It should be possible to dirty flash the ROM over the existing LOS 17.1 build from codeworkx or me, which I again just did successfully.
Thank you for keeping this version updated. There are plenty of reasons why I prefer android 10 over 11. And I think this tablet is doing just fine at android 10. Keep up the good work. 👍

can't see any files / create any files on File Manager, can you please fix that?
I just checked, and I can see files and also create files using the built-in file manager app. So I would guess it's a problem with your installation.

Anyone else has/had a similar problem with viewing/creating files and knows a fix?

merhaba,

Aralık 2021 güvenlik yamalarını içeren yeni bir yapıyı AndroidFileHost'a yükledim . ROM'u codeworkx veya benden mevcut LOS 17.1 sürümündeki şu şekilde flash yapmak için yeterli olmalı, yine başarılı bir şekilde bir şekilde yapmış olmalı

Merhaba,

Aralık 2021 güvenlik yamalarını içeren yeni bir yapıyı AndroidFileHost'a yükledim . ROM'u codeworkx veya benden mevcut LOS 17.1 derlemesi üzerinden kirli flash yapmak mümkün olmalı, ki yine başarılı bir şekilde yaptım.

I'm trying to flash the latest version and I can't seem to get past this in TWRP:

"Unmounting System..
Target: Lenovo/LenovoTB-x704F/X704F: 7.1.1/NMF26F/TB-X704F_S000056_181015_ROW:user/release-keys"

I have a TB-X704L and I've been able to run "lineage-17.1-20201101_075921-UNOFFICIAL-TBX704.zip" for some time, but lately I was encoutering some stability issues. like the hotspot authentification connection problem. So I wanted to update, but I'm kind of stuck.

What version of twrp are you using? If it is old, update it to the latest version and try it.

I tried using the two latest verisons (twrp-3.6.0_9-0-X704F.img and twrp-3.5.2_9-0-X704F.img) and they will display the TWRP startup screen and then freeze when the menu appears. I've been trying to use twrp-3.4.0-0-X704F.img as the menu is working there. I have a pretty slow data connection, but I can try to download another version in between and see what happens.

EDIT: Got the latest version of TWRP to work by telling it to keep partition "read only". However, when I try to install the November or December patch, I set the same issue as before.

EDIT 2: So I booted back into fastboot (power + volume up) and then from that menu selected "recovery". Previously I was using fastboot boot twrp-3.6.0_9-0-X704F.img to get into TWRP. It seems that was the issue. I really do suck at this!

EDIT 3: Now I'm stuck in a bootloop. Going to try to wipe and install Lineage 18 and see what happens.

Hi Ecthelion4, thanks again for your efforts to keep this rom alive, and keeping security patches up-to-date. However I am a bit concerned that selinux policy is set to permissive. Would it be possible at all to build this rom with selinux enforcing? Oh, and a happy new year to you!

    Happy New Year to you too! Unfortunately I have to admit that I have no clue how to change the SElinux policy. I was able to find out how to build the existing code for the Tab4 10 Plus and I am able to update the code from the LineageOS repo, so that I can regularly provide a new build with the latest security patches, but other than that I have no clue about Custom ROM development. Perhaps someone else can step up and modify the code accordingly. Sorry

    On my device with the 20211219 software version, SELinux is set to Enforcing.

    Interesting.. I'm updating now and I'll check what it says. Thanks!

    Alright.. I had issues dirty flashing the December build, so I clean installed and setup magisk, and checked in a terminal window getenforce, answer Enforcing. Very good.

    Are these new builds containing bug fixes or just security updates?
    The build are containing all upstream changes from LineageOS 17.1. This will probably also include bug fixes.

    LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

    All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review.

    Code:
    #include
    /*
     * Your warranty is now void.
     *
     * I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
     * thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
     * do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
     * before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
     * you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
     *
     */

    Here we go again, after building LOS 17.1 last weekend, it's LOS 18.1 this weekend. Thinking back, Lenovo didn't release a single major update for this device.

    From very brief testing, I can say that the camera and fingerprint scanner do not work. I will test the new OS in detail in the next few days and then create a separate thread soon.
