Some months ago I had set up a VM for building LOS 18.1 for the Tab 4 10 Plus. I now tried updating the code and then building the stuff again, but I'm now getting error messages I don't understand. So it looks like someone else having to provide the 18.1 builds. I can continue with the 17.1 until someone steps up and regularly provides builds for LOS 18.1 (or even 19). Sorry
Thank you for replying.
I think the Dev. of the LOS 18.1 for x704F tablet had stopped updating the ROM. Please contact him to see if he is willing to let you update the monthly security patch for his ROM.
Regards.

It's not about not being allowed. The error message I got looked like the LOS 18.1 branch got deleted for part of what would be needed for the build. So I just can't build it. Perhaps the OP of the LOS 18.1 branch might help, I just can't.

Hi,

I just uploaded a new build that includes the June 2022 security patches to AndroidFileHost. It should be possible to dirty flash the ROM over the existing LOS 17.1 build from codeworkx or me, which I again just did successfully.

I did a wipe and installed the ROM with nano gapps. Works great. Prime Video now runs, which had been crashing each time I opened it. Thank you to you and codeworkx.

Hi All,

Is there any tricks for the really low volume on this? Headphone and Speakers seem very quiet since leaving stock, Cheers!

Good afternoon all!

I'm having an odd issue with the Google Play Store app. For some reason, it's completely disappeared from the tablet. All the apps that were installed previously are there and still work, but no new apps can be installed, even via Play Store website.

I've tried reflashing the GApps (full at first, then nano). I've tried clearing cache and dalvik. I've tried dirty flashing the latest build from @Ecthelion4. I've tried everything I could think of short of wiping the tablet, which I would really prefer not to do if at all possible. Nothing I've tried has made the Play Store app show back up.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

**EDIT** Please disregard this. Apparently my daughter managed to disable the app in the system settings. I didn't even know that was possible.

Hi, the Play Store app is not among the list of apps you can access from the system settings, not even when displaying also the system apps? If not then I have no other idea except to set up the tablet freshly.

Apologies! I discovered the issue a few minutes ago and made an edit to the post. Turns out that my daughter had accidentally disabled the Play Store app, which I wasn't aware was possible.

Thanks though!

    LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

    All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review.

    Code:
    #include
    /*
     * Your warranty is now void.
     *
     * I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
     * thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
     * do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
     * before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
     * you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.

    Here we go again, after building LOS 17.1 last weekend, it's LOS 18.1 this weekend. Thinking back, Lenovo didn't release a single major update for this device.

    From very brief testing, I can say that the camera and fingerprint scanner do not work. I will test the new OS in detail in the next few days and then create a separate thread soon.
