So trying again on my really painful 8704v version.. Coming from a working highwaystar_ru LOS 14.1. (Android 7.1).

1. TWRP flashed, installed and working. (not just boot, actual flash)
2. Full Wipe including Internal Storage.
3. Flashed ROM.
4. Flashed OpenGapps Nano.
5. Flashed Magisk 20.4
6. Flashed boot-los17.1-tb8704v-20200531.img

Reboot.

Looks like it back to the continuous LOS logo.. waited about 15 minutes.. no love.. what am i missing??
Try flashing OS, boot.img, gapps, (magisk) in order.
My 8704V was flashed well that way.

There seems to be some users experiencing problems and others aren't. I updated TWRP to 3.3.1-0 to use updated kernels for TB-8704F/X/V. Each have separate kernels so I built separate TWRPs for each. The post I originally wrote is hidden between several thousand post so it's easy to miss. If anyone isn't aware that of my TWRP release here's the post.
I will compile a new LOS build as soon as the security updates have been merged. I only have the TB-8704X so I can only test with this. It would be interesting to know if using my TWRP build fixes any bootloop issues.

If I return to stock rom, I don't have wifi any more. I remember reading about this somewhere, but cannot seem to find it anymore. Can someone direct me to how this can be resolved? Thanks.

lineage-17.1-20200713-UNOFFICIAL-TB8704

Hi, latest build available with the July security patch.

All I did was sync the repo and build - the latest patch was added by the LOS team.

Dirty flash and clean flash was fine and everything seems to be working.

Download lineage-17.1-20200713-UNOFFICIAL-TB8704.zip

I can only test this on my TB-8704X so hopefully it'll work with the with the F and V variants as well.

Flash my TWRP as it's been updated with the latest TB-8704 kernel.

20200713 tested on TF8704F.

Trying to boot without the power supply reboots to recovery.
Booting connected to a power supply also leads to recovery.
Booting connected to a computer works fine. Once booted the computer can be disconnected and the tablet works without problems.

It is much better than previous versions.

Nope. I dirty-flashed the new version on my TB-8704F and it stopped on the Lenovo logo. I re-flashed Lance's TWRP (which doesn't seem to describe itself differently from standard TWRP, which is a bit confusing), wiped Dalvik, cache & system, flashed ROM, Gapps Pico and Magisk 20.4, and it reboots perfectly well into the system.
Excellent job, Lance - thank you again.

Thank you, I have repeated your same steps on my TB-8704F:
Install lance's TWRP
Wipe Dalvik, Cache and system
Install rom, gapps and magisk

The result is still the same I had with a dirty flash: Reboot to recovery unless the tablet is connected to a computer

I suggest that you take a backup of your current system image, copy it to your PC, then wipe everything and format data ("yes"), then repeat the flash. You'll have to set up everything again, but if it works then it suggests that it's the data format that you're missing.

Finally success with my TB-8704V, huge thanks to everybody who made this possible @highwaystar_ru, @lancebuks, @dahawthorne

Issues I ran into and their resolutions (noob alert):

- TWRP, had quite a few setbacks with the original 3.2.3. Glad I came across the posts referring to the 3.3.1 version. Once I flashed the new one, I was able to wipe, format, and flash without errors.

- Interestingly, twrp USB flashing would not stick at all, not till I tried flashing from Recovery it actually flashed properly.

- Had the super annoying "Error 7" issue trying to flash the rom. Seemed like I tried everything it just wouldn't work till I tried a different/newer SD card the error stopped occurring.

- The sequence of steps that ended up working smoothly for me was - wipe/format data/flash rom/flash boot/gapps/magisk. The first boot was quite speedy.

- Netflix was not available till the SafetyNet trick with the fingerprint from Pixel was applied, post #43. (funny, there was a welcoming email to the Pixel family from Google shortly after...)

Things that appear off/not working, in no particular order:
- There is quite a bit of delay for the LTE connection to start after the tablet boots
- "Android setup" to "finish the tablet setup" keeps crashing with System UI Stopped error
- "Tap to wake" not working
- (minor of course) Tablet shows as 8704X model instead of 8704V

Again, big thanks!

Tank you again for your advise.
Unfortunately formatting data makes no difference.
I keep trying different approaches to flash this ROM

Just dirty-flashed @lancebuks's 20200713 image over highwaystar_ru's original 20200601 image on my TB8704F. I flashed an updated opengapps and magisk at the same time, just to be on the safe side, and it's working just fine: camera, wifi and bluetooth all tested along with two reboots and a cold boot to confirm that no USB connection is necessary.

Nice work @lancebuks, thanks for fixing this and continuing to make updates available.

Thanks for the update. Did you do anything with Magisk and it's modules before the dirty flash?
