TWRP doesn't work at all in the latest 3.4.0 version. Installs, but touchscreen isn't working at all. When it goes black and I power it up again, even Swipe to Unlock doesn't work.

Went back to 3.3.1 and installed the ROM with Gapps, but it's stuck in a bootloop, even with /data formatted. Oh well.

Several of us with 8704F are having bootloops to recovery with the last versions.
Try the 20200601 in the OP that works fine for most of us.

Hi - Did you flash TWRP for TB-8704F or TB-8704X?
Another had the same issue with his 8704F which was due to flashing TWPR for 8704X - here's the tread https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=83087937&postcount=408
TWRP for each device are different due to the X, V and F having different kernels, cross-flashing won't work properly.

In case anyone is intereseted I started another thread specifically for TWRP for TB-8704F/X/V

Looking for differences from 20200601 and @lancebucks' builds that cause bootloop on TB-8704F, I have found that @highwaystar_ru did not remove telephony apps for TB-8704F by modifying the "/install/bin/deunify.sh" script.

I have changed this script in the last lancebuck's ROM by the one in 20200601 ROM and now my TB-8704F boots without problem.
I am now testing to find which of the telephony apps caused the problem.

I asked highwaystar_ru about this towards the beginning of this thread, and he responded that his fix for the TB-8704F was to *not* remove the phone apps:

Yes, that is just what I say.

lancebuck's ROM is removing the apps and that causes bootloop on TB-7404F. Modifying lancebuck's rom to not remove the apps boots perfect.
Nice find - will be fixed from now on so you don't have to do it each time.

I missed this message https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=82717131&postcount=15 - Sorry about that

I'm compiling a new build now with deunify.sh fixed. This should fix the bootloop issue with TB-8704F. Sorry about that

lineage-17.1-20200721-UNOFFICIAL-TB8704

Hi, I compiled a new build which contains the deunify.sh fix.

I haven't had time to test this myself but I did a quick spot-check to see if the .sh file is fixed.
Update1: I haven't had any issues after dirty flashing this build on my TB-8704X
Update2: Clean flash is also good

https://mega.nz/folder/0ZV2SSbC#HjNloMp7OsJpB93H_zdIMw

Hopefully this build will fix the bootloop issue that TB-7804F users been having, nothing should change for TB-8704X users. I'm not sure about the TB-8704V

For those interested here's my source github.

Tried to install the .zip from the opening post yesterday on my TF-7804F (clean instal coming from stock) and once it was booted and I wanted to connect to the wifi, it shut itself off.
Read this post, mounted the storage to my pc in TWRP, loaded this version on the tablet and dirty flashed it over the previous version.
Booted and works perfectly.
Thanks!

Small update: Video's weren't playing on my tablet, so tried the build.prop edit in post #106
Very pleased with the ROM now, standby battery is great, and everything I need works.

(reason for finally upgrading from stock was that standby battery drain was pretty high for me and I kept trying to use gestures for navigating like on my pixel. Which obviously didn't work, and was a bit frustrating.)

Hi, I found a solution for the video bug! You have to edit build.prop in /system by adb! Heres the link how to do this: https://www.theandroidsoul.com/edit-build-prop-without-root-using-adb-in-twrp-recovery/

Please note, the build.prop is located in /system/system !! You have to seach for "audio.deep_buffer.media" under section ADDITIONAL_BUILD_PROPERTIES and set from true to false. From now on video in WhatsApp; Google Photos, etc works like a charm :D
I'll tweak audio.deep_buffer.media=false in my next build so that you don't have to do this each time from now on
