read the threads and search your device model. This ROM has many bugs if you want to use it as a daily driver for work. But for causal use like reading and watching videos, it's good and the bugs are bearable.

Hi guys again..I tried the Lineage 17 file for my T705 LTE but I got this error..the first photo. I then tried Lineage 14 file and it worked but also got some red lettered messages but still installed (2nd pic)
Should I be trying to get to 17? Is the performance gap a big difference or should I just stay on 14?

And about Lineage 17, I think the overall performance is the same. The only difference is you get android 10 with some android 10 features and a nice UI. But Lineage 14.1 is more stable and I recommend you stick with it.

Seems to be working but the accuracy and the speed are really slow. As I am using this tablet only for reading ebooks, I haven't tested it on maps apps in a real-world scenario, as I am running LineageOS without any Gapps.

Yes. You can read my experience on the 17 above on this thread you can look into it. In short, there are bugs and battery backup was not good compared to 14.1.
Sorry if I missed this but is there a setting to change the battery bar to number/percentage?
Also how can I keep my screen LCD on Dynamic at all times? When I reboot my device, the LCD goes back to a yellowish reading type display

It's all safe because if your tablet crashes just reboot it and the settings will go back to default. When you want to keep a setting you can "enable on startup" which you can set for every page individually.
The power (charging) page is easy. I just drag all the currents to max. Makes a solid difference. For the cpu and gpu you have to fiddle until you find a stable one you like. I'd recommend bumping up gpu minimum frequency to 177 for a smoother UI.
I undervolt by 100 - 93.75 mV on both CPU and GPU. I cap the max cpu freq at 1800MHz. I suggest you to start with like 1600MHz if you haven't got a thermal pad mod.1I would not call it "dirty flashing" if I flashed only an updated image of the same ROM. It would be completely impractical to do a clean flash every time you would like to update a ROM.
Thanks for the suggestion. I already tried reflashing the latest image and also latest openGapps (micro) again as suggested by other users, but it did not change anything. So I guess if I can not live without "recent apps" I will have to do a clean installation by wiping the system partition etc.
I still try to avoid this clean flashing because I have a lot of apps installed and configured.
At the moment it is a bit uncomfortable but manageable.
I tried to do a nandroid backup (TWRP) of system and data but the backup of the data partition always fails (TWPR crashes) no matter which destination I select, internal, external sd or even an usb flash drive. So I will have to start completely fresh without a chance of turning back.1
Well sounds like there's some corrupt data there then. Maybe there's a backup app you can use to restore most of your apps and settings.
I've heard positives and negatives about Los18 and Los20 builds. Some people have a look but I think most of them come back to Los17.
Remember that if you do make a fresh install to ensure your device has had the latest stock rom installed at least once. I think it's dated 2017. You can download it on samfw.com and use Odin.1
I don't know if Opengapps is superior but that's the beauty of running Los17 or 18 that you can use good and trusted ol' OpenGapps. I run the pico version and it worked immediately.
The worst issue I ever got was perhaps a long boot time at the Lineage animation. A quick reboot and wipe dalvik+cache partition always fixed it.
Sorry for replying late. Yes, that list of steps look right. Nice work! For root/Magisk you need to patch boot.img. Then you get access to Deathly which is super nice. You get undervolting, speaker volume boost, fast charging speeds, faster UI by bumping min GPU freq to 177MHz, less throttling by capping cpu freq. All good stuff. -

I have created yesterday new builds for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S series with the Exynos 5420 sources. For this I took the sources of crdroid 10 / v6.21 that is based on LineageOS 17.1. My compiler also just built the latest LineageOS 17.1 from the original sources.
On my Tab S (chagalllte) I still have flicker problems with the GPU during videos. Does anyone have a tip?

10After using 8224Freak's builds from this thread for some time, I was sad to see they were no longer available. In an effort to be helpful and keep the flame going, I thought I would share some of my files.

Please do not bother 8224Freak with support requests for these builds, as they are not affiliated.
Use these builds at your own risk and proceed with backups at hand in case of disaster. I own an SM-T800, so the chagallwifi builds will always be personally tested, but I can't vouch for the others. Reports from this forum are that they generally work, though.
Known issues:
- Camera video recording may not work for klimtlte (and likely others). You may have better luck with a different/patched camera app.
My latest builds can be found at https://lineageos.glitchy.net/ . If you're running 20230625 or newer, the LineageOS OTA updater should be able to download future updates! (Settings, System, Advanced, Updater).
