Hello, just got a SM-T813 in hands , working properly with stock rom, however changing to Lineage not working. I've tried Lineage 17.1 (2 difff builks 01/01/22 & 04/03/22), TWRP 5.6 and 5.3 with btgapps / opengapps, dirty, clean, full wipe. formatted, etc and it keeps rebooting after 1st screen login specifically when dong assistant (wifi config). after that it just loop reboot and doesn't let me access it anymore. Here are the files I could retrieve. Any help is really appreciated.

Fixed by replacing battery.

Flashed this and open gapps pico on my T713, clean install, and it took over 30 minutes at the curved line logo with the circle moving right to left (loading screen at boot).

Then found another thread that said it should take only like 15 mins (edit: after my own experience, it takes only like 5 mins or so - if it gets stuck by 10 mins, then force reboot and wait a min and it will go to welcome page).

Since this is an OLED screen, I'm worried about screen burn in, so I don't want to leave it with that bright blue line fixed in the middle overnight. Going to try a couple things. I shut off and back in recovery now.

This time I did this:

  1. Wipe all like in wipe instructions
  2. Reboot back to recovery
  3. Mount System too so the following are mounted (for me System was not mounted, not sure if it matters)
    - System, Data, Cache, MicroSD
  4. Install LineageOS only (will install gApps later, this is to isolate is lineage is the problem)
  5. Click the Wipe Cache/Dalvik
  6. Reboot
After about 5-10 mins I decided to search the thread. Someone said they just forced reboot (hold power and voldown in my case until it reboots),

  • It worked! After a minute or two when it reboot, it just went straight into the welcome page (white screen with blue LineageOS logo). Success!

  • Now I turned it off (hold power and press power off) without setting up and installed gapps, and wiped Cache/Dalvik and reboot, and after another minute back into welcome screen - this time the gapps welcome screen!

  • Pressing the yellow Start button lagged a little. But after a few seconds (I clicked a few times) it went to the next screen!

  • Then after skipping wifi setup, it asked forone of three options with fingerprint+pin, etc, well just pick one, on the next screen there will be a skip option if you don't want to set it up.

First courses of action:
  • Enable dark theme! It's under Display. Search didn't work for some reason.
  • Disable Play Protect (I don't want it)
  • Security > Find My Device > Off
  • Turn off Bluetooth
  • About > tab on Build Number a few times at the bottom to enable Developer
  • System > Advanced > Developer Options > Automatic System Updates > Off
  • System > Advanced > Developer Options > Advanced Restart > On
  • System > Advanced > Developer Options > Override Force Dark (always on)
  • System > Buttons > Backlight > Disabled
Next
  • Root
  • Add Xposed (LSPosed)
  • Add LSPosed modules
Flashing SuperSu like the root guide says, doesn't work. Instead, install Magisk. Then reboot.

Had some trouble. Then I came across this:

Installing Magisk is extremely easy on this ROM:
  1. Download the Magisk app from github (link updated to github)
  2. Install the APK file
  3. Rename magisk.apk to magisk.zip
  4. Install magisk.zip from TWRP.
It worked! I'm rooted! That was not intuitive, but easy!

Unfortunately, one major bug with this. If you attempt to change the drive volumeid, then the device will no longer recognize the SD card, but wants to format it.

I tried this many times to no avail, including formatting the card inside android and then changing the VolumeID. Still does not work.

But the same card inserted into two other devices running Android 8 and 11, does not give the same issue. So, the problem here is this build of LOS 17.1, or possibly the whole of LOS 17.1, unknown. But the problem is not the card or the fact I changed the volumeid.

(VolumeID is alphanumeric 8-digits like XXXX-XXXX)

I need this so I can restore backups and have them work when they are dependent on absolute paths.

Any possibility of getting a 18.1 or 19.0 build for the SM-T713 (gts28vewifi) since 17.1 is being deprecated?

Hey. I have a huge question. How do I move the tree, kernel, and other things needed to build Android 12? Will someone please send some tutorial. PS I am not talking about building lineage os 19 just converting tree, kernel from lineage os 17 to 19

If that was so easy to do.. Don't you think there weren't stable builds up for all devices if you could cover everything that needs to be done in a single tutorial?

T719 with last rom of February 2022.
It works very well.
However, I have a problem: when active, transmitting the smartphone screen to TV, wireless screen, the rom restarts ....

That message about official 17.1 lineageos builds affects the official lineageos buildservers. The wickenberg build servers are very unofficial so I aspect they will continue building. (As they are also still building for 16.0)

Were it nog for the fact that almost all latest builds are failing on wickenberg (for multiple targets). Something which needs tot be fixed by the maintainer which I believe is @pitrus-

I have a T813 German model, what would be the best firmware you can put on it? I still use the Samsung firmware of Android 7. Is it still this one? Or shouldnt you advice to use custom roms on the T813 because of some bugs making it a nogo.
I'm using a self-built LineageOS 16.0 (Android 9) on a Dutch T813. Google no longer actively provides security patches for Android 9, so LineageOS can't implement them, and I can't bake them into the ROM. Sadly, it's stuck at 2022-01-05.

I have tried LineageOS 17.1 from this thread, but wasn't happy without a working camera. That was a show-stopper for me.

For the moment, I can make no definite recommendation as to which ROM is 'better'; stock Android is perfectly fitted to the device, but stuck in the proverbial stone age. LineageOS 16.0 is newer and 100% working, but also stuck at it's current level of security. LineageOS 17.1 should be buildable, but has no working camera.

    Take your pick :( Sorry.

    Kind regards,

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device. * you point the finger at us for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

(Please read them BEFORE posting anything in the thread!)
Q: The room is bootlooping the first time I attempt to boot into it after clean flashing. What should I do?[/COLOR]
A: Force reboot using the Power and Volume Down buttons. The rom will boot properly the second time around. This is a known bug and it affects clean flashes only.

Q: Whenever I try flashing any lineage-17.1 build, I get the following error in TWRP: Updater process ended with ERROR: 7
A: This error appears whenever you try to flash an Q-based rom within a version of TWRP older than 3.4. Simply flash the linked below version 3.4 or higher, reboot back into recovery, and flash the rom zip again.

Q: Will any of the variants ever receive official builds from LineageOS?
    A: No.

Q: How often will new builds be released?
A: At least once per month: as soon as possible after each new Android security patch level is merged and whenever a new feature is added or a bug is fixed.

Typically if you do not do a Clean Install then you are not allowed to report errors or problems. If you Dirty Install and you do have problems then you will be asked to Wipe All and Clean Install and see if the problems still exist. This is a DAILY changing rom and any bug that you found was not working on the previous day's build may be fixed with todays daily build. On a side note, the code implemented to fix that bug could potentially break something that worked on that previous build. So reporting problems on a day old build that you dirty flashed over whichever build of whichever rom you had flashed previously will not be accepted as a true error.

Problems known to happen after a Dirty Installation
    1. A muddled up mess of a system. You are taking a rom and installing a newer rom with changes over the top of your old rom. Between these two periods of time during which you used your tablet and created data, changed system options, and used apps. This is absolutely increasing the risk of causing problems somewhere in the system/data partitions. Some people have luck with Dirty Flashing. However, it's always hit-and-miss because of what we mentioned above about bug fixes breaking previously working functions. Dirty flashing doesn't only create problems if the source code of the system data and the system settings of the new build are significantly different from those of your previous build. That's not to say that Clean Installing won't ever create problems, but only bugs present on a Cleanly Installed rom are relevant for development purposes.

    * Clean Install: Fully wiping everything and installing the rom onto a fully clean system/data partition of the tablet.

    * Dirty Install: Installing the rom and GApps over top of the older rom to save time and not have to reinstall all the user apps and tweaking system and app settings that usually take a lot of time to set up as you like.

    Bugs
    - The rom bootloops only after clean flashing. Force rebooting allows it to boot properly the second time and every time afterwards. See the FAQ's above.
    - The cameras work, but with a delayed response, so they are impractical to use.
    - T719 & T819: RIL does not work at all.
    - You tell us!

    TWRP 3.5.2_9-2

The official TWRP for all four variants is built by TeamWin's servers from the outdated android-6.0 branch. A major bug in this branch is that mtp is broken, so I ran my own builds from the android-7.1 branch. I fixed hw encryption, which is why I bumped the version number up to "-2":

    twrp-3.5.2_9-2-gts210velte

    twrp-3.5.2_9-2-gts210vewifi

Since all ROMs got deleted and it looks like there won't be any new ones I decided to do something about this.
My T719 is still in perfectly good shape and it would be a shame to dump it to the landfill.
So I spend the last two days digging through Repositories and recreated the build processes originating from ripee's original post, giving these devices a second life.

    Download from my GDrive.
