Hi, we can try this fix, it will be in the next update, thx.Nice work!
WiFi does not work on my device (network: WPA2 + WPA3): it saves the network but is not able to connect to it. I think a possible fix for this is adding a WiFi overlay and disabling the WPA2 -> WPA3 upgrade as I mentionend in the other thread. rINanDO has already added the overlay for his i9100 build (which seemed to work). I'm not sure if he has also applied the patch for i9300 as well, but maybe this fixes the issue.
You are making progress with every update indeed. Thanks for your effort!
Hmm I never turn off wifi, Android 11 is handling the sleep mode and wifi very well (better then previous versions),
Yes, this is still on the list.
If there's no shortcut you just have to open the settings, connected devices and choose file transfere.
Why then does the computer see the phone on the native 4.3 ROM and the files can be safely transferred, and there is no lineage os no matter how many assemblies I put, none sees the phone . Only in recovery mode
Connect phone via USB cable to computer. Then go settings, developers options, scroll down until you see default usb configuration. Click and should see transfer files.
RAM could be a problem as SGS3 only has 1 GB of RAM. But the main problem lies with the GApps itself. See, Google Play Services is one of the main culprits of slowing down an old phone. On an average phone, Google Play Services is one of the most resource hogging applications as takes up storage space of about 300 MB to 1-2 GB and it constantly runs in the background taking up about 80- 150 MB on RAM. And the Google app itself takes about 300-500 MB space and runs in the background 50-100 MB RAM. You cannot even stop it because after some time, when you check the running processes, it's still there! Thanks for the advice, not installing gapps seems to have fixed my problem. My I9300 has not been so fluid for years. Even with CRDroid 7 my phone didn't work as well as now.
Why are gapps interfering so much with stability ? Is it a RAM problem ?
I didn't try MicroG so far as I used an alternative to Google Play but I will check that.
Thanks @html6405. I tried it just to see what would happen. I'm not depending on the device as a daily drive, so if it had not worked at all it wouldn't have mattered. I am surprised at what does work, and not at all surprised by the bits that don't.Hi,
thx for your testing's, but I wan't to mention that this build is not meant to be installed on an i9305.
There are some hardware specific differences, this is why GPS, RIL couldn't work on this device.
The screen rotation is normal on my i9300, so I'm not sure if this is also a hardware specific aspect.
But I'm working on the LTE devices, it's not really easy to fix the RIL on Android 11, but I've already made some progress and hope to fix it completely soon.
Than I could publish an own build for the i9305.
