I'm still struggling with heavy phone lags. It seems Magisk 25.2 (/system/bin/sh) is constantly using up to 10% CPU. I have tried flashing older versions 20.3 and 20.4 with no luck (Error 1). I need root to stream via AirMusic app.

Any solution?
my z1c isn't rooted so I can't tell. Have you tried in one of the magisk related forums / threads?

I could not find any solution regarding Magisk flashing Error 1. I just wanted to check if older Magisk is using less CPU, maybe it is just normal to use 10% and with newer devices is not noticeable.

Just checked on my old XPeria Tablet Z (about the same age as the Z1c but having an even lesser CPU). That one is rooted using Magisk 25.2. Just checked GSam Battery Monitor, and Magisk isn't even in the battery usage list since I last charged the tablet (7h ago). Checking Device Settings >> Apps >> Magisk App Info it says 0 min. background useage, 4 min. active, 1% battery since last full charge (which was 39 days ago as I stop charging at around 80%)
So: no, I don't think that 10% is normal here... Really strange

You could try to restrict background usage and/or choose battery optimization for a while then control whether that is making a difference

Battery usage is not a good indicator, at the end of the day I can hook phone to the power bank, but if it is not responding... there are moments I want to smash it... Testing now HEBF Optimizer with the best performance profile.

interesting: swipe-up next to the "take picture" button doesn't do anything on my side. I don't have any problems getting out of the camera, though

That's quite weird.. Swipe up like described is the only way I can exit the camera app, maybe I have poked some dubious setting somewhere because the system bar is hidden in the camera app. First time I launched the app after flashing the ROM, exiting the app again was my biggest issue until I figured it out.

Swiping up anywhere around the round camera button does not have any effect on my Z1 Compact. But I have discovered that if I take a photo and then view the photo in the gallery, then at that screen I am able to use the "recent apps" gesture swiping up from the bottom of the screen to show recent apps and from THAT screen I can now exit the camera by swiping it away.

But it seems possible to me that I somehow didn't get quite a clean install of this LOS 18.1. I had a couple problems with bootloaders and had to go to two different firmwares and use an older version of TWRP before updating to the new TWRP and this LOS before I finally got everything working. And now I realize I have a few other issues, so I'm putting camera troubleshooting on hold until I get the phone generally working. I'll post back here if I have more info or details to add about any other issues later. Right now, I assume my problems are somewhat unique and related to a slightly wonky install/firmware update process.

Hi, I've installed this ROM to fix a GPS week rollover problem. Unfortunately, my phone still cannot catch the correct fix, even though it can see about 30 satellites. What could be the problem?
...
Ok, nvm. Phone needed about 1h to catch the fix. I'm wondering how much time it will need next time. Is it the case that once he has grabbed a position, he will do it faster next time?

GPS is a pain in the *** on this phone. Just recently I had many problems with the fix and wasted many hours trying to find solution including "playing" with internal antenna connections and etc. Amazingly if you hold the phone with 2 fingers just on top and bottom signal gets stronger. The "best" and "perfect" solution is sticking particular size needle into GPS antenna RF switch connector aka testing port (blue square in #2 pic), signal jumps from 24 to 44 and then fix is acquired in seconds. Unfortunately, RF switch connectors are not the same as for coaxial cables, so no way to jury-rig it.

Try editing gps.conf and test, test, test. How strong is your signal from GPS and Glonass satellites? Post the screenshot from https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.chartcross.gpstest

Oh my bananas from Bananaland... Thx a lot underflash... I'm trying to catch the fix, to make a screenshot - now I have 20 satelites in view and 0 in use... But phone is on my desk near the window. 2nd phone has in the same place 49 in view and 35 in use (but low avg snr: 19.2).
I think, I need to open the phone case and first off all clean contact pins on PBA (as in 1.14.1 point of your instruction). Or stick needle into GPS antenna - as U wrote.
Im trying to use this phone only for bike navigation - the phone is small and is ideal for this purposes...

If you have good signal strength (average +30) and no fix, then try various gps.conf mods. Maybe it will work... Signal strength changes just by holding phone differently indicate fundamental antenna design flaws.

OK, thx a lot mate! Would U be so nice and told me where this gps.conf is located? (if U remember of course)

Hello, I have upgraded to LOS 18.1-20220806, microG version.
It runs without errors, however the OS now seems very sluggish. The apps take a very long time to launch.
I do not know if it could be due to the latest version, I have not updated for a long time.
Could it be Magisk?

@honeycakehorse, I have the same experience, but in my case the problem was caused by my stupidity - I've installed LOS without clearing apps from old installation - so I had all google aps and other stuff from Sony. When I've uninstalled all old apps - the problem gone for me.

I myself am not using Magisk, but as stated by @115ek in the OP, DO NOT use any Magisk version > 20.4

From what version did you upgrade?

Yeah just >20.4 impossible to flash with Error 1 in TWRP. Removed Magisk v.25.2 and all root required stuff, phone started working more or less okey. I do not expect it to be super swift and smooth, but e.g. waiting for keyboard to popup for minutes is just ridiculous. Before LOS 18.1 I have been using AICP 14.0 without any such crap, so probably time to roll back.
