None, because there's no more need for the modules .. ;-)
MicroG has implemented the location-service functionality internally

I'm sorry for not professional question: does it mean that recent MicroG stores to it's own database paired wifi/GSM with GPS (the same google does) for faster TTFF ?

That only you can decide ... :)
So far I always had the mozilla location provider in work (on different devices), imho much better than to 'trust' google ..

in the location module looks to be some remote address:

does it mean, it's safe and we can trust mozilla.com owners ? I'm a bit confused :-(
For now (as outlined in the release notes), only Mozilla is implemented. Quote from the release notes:
"The goal is to merge the most important of those features into GmsCore. For now, the new locations stack is relying exclusively on Mozilla Location Service for network based location."

Reading this, I have some hope, that in a future release of microG, also some true offline functionality, such as DéjàVu (learning and storing the places, where you've been) or GSMLocationProvider (Download from home via WiFi an extract from a couple Cell tower DBs with their location info and make offline use of that generated DB) will be available again - let's see...

GSMLocationProvider works perfectly, I downloaded few MCC into my DB and TTFF is really quick, so I'm offline and happy. thanks for hint

Are you sure? According to the docu, there is no interaction any more with those apps and microG connects only to Mozilla's server to resolve the logged in cell tower ID into a location.

Moto G6 Play
I'm not sure this topic has been discussed earlier in this thread, but I wondered why Aurora-Droid is installed rather than F-Droid's official client.
I understand the reason of having only one su privileged version installed (being Aurora Services if I'm not mistaken), but unfortunately Aurora Droid has not been updated for quite some time and tends to not fetch any updates (at least on my system).
While I technically know how to install privileged F-Droid on my system, I wanted to make there was no other reason, hindering its installation.

New builds available

Hi,

new builds with the July '23 ASB patches (Security String 2023-07-05) are available for manual download.

Please note, that they are currently not yet offered as OTA update!
Reason is, that I don't have the amami device with me right now and I will only be able to do a test
early next week. I don't expect any issues, since the ASB update as such works fine with other devices and no device-specific components are altered within this update. Nevertheless, I would like to ask the more experienced of you to manually download and flash and report back, that all is ok.
Once I receive that confirmation, I will enable the OTA update accordingly.

A. Standard LineageOS 18.1 build
  • Security string 2023-07-05
  • System Webview 114.0.5735.196

B. Pre-installed microG build variant with additional security patches
https://sourceforge.net/projects/li...9-UNOFFICIAL-microG-signed-amami.zip/download
  • Security string 2023-07-05
  • Mulch Webview 114.0.5735.196
  • microG 0.2.28.231657 - "Original" included now (see comments)
I have started to rework my microG approach:
With the recent change to include the Mozilla Localtion services (MLS) directly into the microG code also comes the requirement to obtain an API key for MLS, which I don't have right now (I have requested one, but I am not sure whether and if yes, when I would get it). I have therefore included the original microG apk and use the now foreseen way to specify certain default settings, so one of the two reasons for me to build from source has gone.

@115ek - please update OP / Change log

Happy flashing, regards, M.

The (main) reason to use AuroraDroid is, as you have correctly assumed, the unified usage of AuroraServices.

Further, the functionality simply is better (I admit, this is my personal opinion, others may have different points of view). And AuroraDroid still works flawlessly (at least for me), so there is no real reason to create updates, but the app has not been abandoned, it is still normally maintained.

Regarding updates, you can always manually synchronize the active repositories, but there is also a setting, where you can specify the update interval (I have e.g. set it to update the repository every two days).

Another reason, why I prefer AuroraDroid is, that the F-Droid apk itself is only signed with the insecure v1 scheme and not, as it should normally be the case, also with v2 (so that v1 is only used as fallback in "stone-age" Android versions like KitKat). So in my other builds, which I provide for e.g. LineageOS 16.0 or LineageOS 14.1, I ship an F-Droid apk, which I have build from source and sign it with my own key (and consequently a patched Privileged extension checking my own signature).
[Please note: I haven't checked this situation since about ~ 1 year, so I am happy to re-think my approach on my other 14.1 and 16.0 builds, if F-Droid is meanwhile properly signed. So please let me know, if that has changed.]

Thanks once again. - Updater doesn't see anything new, though. Tried several times since yesterday.
Anything I can check or do on my side (apart from downloading and flashing the old way)?

This is exactly, what I have announced:
I don't have the device with me until next week, so BEFORE enabling OTA, I would like to ask some folks here to MANUALLY flash and confirm, that there are no issues, so I can enable OTA

Hi!

Thank you for keeping this device alive!
I'm writing here as my last option to get some help.
I have encountered a problem, many did before, but found no solution whatsoever.

I can't make or receive phone calls, can't send sms, but mobile data kinda works. My card works in other devices, but no card works in mine.

I have tried so far: unchecking 4G and enabling LTE only, checking the providers API settings, tried google phone, setting the default phone app, so mainly everything i have read on forums, with no result.

I don't really think it's related to the last update, i have made phone calls since.

Do you have any ideas where should i start looking for answers?

Thank you for your help!
