After some period using LinageOS/HavacOS on my SM-T825 I must say, it's a great progress compared to the stock ROM. The Tablet is so much faster in it's response to inputs and in all apps! The fun lost using the tablet ist back again!
Thank you again for your work!

Nevertheless I encountered some few issues which I want to report:

• S-Pen does not work in all cases:
  • the left hardware button can not be activated by the pen
  • in several apps the keyboard does not come up, when the pen is used to select an input field
• I miss the handwriting recognition of the keyboard as is in the stock ROM
  • can this be substituted by some alternative?

Thanks for the report,

The button on S-Pen is recognized well by the system, but we can't use that because there is no app to handle the button event.
We can't use handwriting for a similar reason. It is a software side too.

Since I installed this successfully yesterday, I'm mostly loving it so far.

One issue that I've noticed is that in the Zoom app when my camera is on, there is a green bar on the left side of my camera , and the colours are distorted on the rest of the camera. Here is an image of what my camera looks like in Zoom:

I realise that this is an app-specific issue (Zoom), so this is less likely to be tested and might not be able to be addressed by the OS. I also note that the built-in camera app does not have this issue; the built in camera app takes pictures and videos with the correct colours just fine. However, this was not an issue when using the stock ROM.

Do other people have this issue, or does it work fine for other people? Should I be reporting this even though it is app-specific?

You can use HavocOS for passing SafetyNet. It can be done with Magisk Hide.

No, it doesn't. I added nothing about signature spoofing and MicroG into it.
But as far as I know that feature is a built-in in the HavocOS

So, now I also had the time to install it, due to the fact that my S3 is also daily needed, I waited some time.
Works very smooth, fast and reliable for the first days.
My points:
After installing twrp I was not able to make a full backup, that was a little scary for me, and it ended in a bootloop
So I had to go on
Fortunately I had all needed data already on my NAS
Installation was fast and easy, also with Google Pico Apps
I work mostly with the pen.
OneNote: eraser works work the s pen button from the start
The return sensor button works when activated with the pen as intended, but the recent app (RA) button has a strange behavior, when I have my swype keyboard activated, and I touch the RA button the keyboard disappeares, but nothing happens.
If I touch it with the finger at the same stage it works as intended, the recent apps come up.
If the keyboard is not on, nothing happens at all when the RA button is touched with the spen.
Anybody the same behavior?
I have no spen-specific-app installed.

again I want to say thank you for this ROM to awesomatic. Fantastic work!

At the moment I'm trying to help a little bit with enabling encryption. I managed to encrypt my tab with a modified ROM version. But it's not stable. So I cannot share some progress. Maybe someone can share some log files captured during encryption and afterwards (next boot). This would help me a lot.

But please be careful: When enabling encryption, your device will boot loop and you will have to format data.

If it is possible, please share logcat in "time" format for example created with this command: "adb logcat -v time > Log.logcat".

However, the

• Unlocking the lock screen can make tablets not usable sometimes (black screen)

issue, which it seems requires a full reboot, is ripping my grandmother apart. Literally tearing her to shreds.
I read the thread, but don't see many end users mentioning it.
Is it being investigated? Are there some easy workarounds by the user not doing something?
How frequent is it supposed to be?
Are there any circumstances in particular when it happens more often?
(for example: Charger plugged in, long sleep, being locked on fullscreen video, being locked on fullscreen game, unlocking when a notification is being displayed, some particular types of screen lock, etc...)

I had it only one time since installation, was right the first day, shortly after I wrote the last post.
But since then, nothing changed from my side, and it happened not a second time, I used it almost every day

No, for her it happens multiple times per day.
I don't think I ever reflashed clean, only flashed January once, and then recently dirty-updated to March. But it looked exactly like the described issue: the screen was dark and black, but the front physical buttons would vibrate.
If it's not like this, it might be something wrong with the hardware.

If you can grab logs (adb logcat -v time > Log.txt) I can take a look. Up to now I had no blank screens at all.

I had this problem from first custom ROM version onwards.
Took a log and it seems GSM service is the culprit.
After each update in the first few days the freezes were less and later happened more often.
Was never on charger at that time so Idk about that.
Usually happened when Messengers started to sync after turning on.
Same problem with Havoc btw.

To exclude gone back to stock yesterday to test if it's hardware related as I read about RAM soldering point issues.
Will keep you informed.

Wiped everything, formatted Data and Cache as ext4 (as mentioned, used f2fs last time), flashed the latest version and GApps nano (used micro last time).
So far *knocks on wood* hasn't happened once *spits*.

Took a log and it seems GSM service is the culprit.

Could be, but not in my case - ours is a T820 :v
(Am implying yours might be a red herring as well)

@Awesometic: Want to provide very positive feedback that all issues related to secondary users I've reported some time ago are solved and all works as expected. So thanx a lot again for this great ROM.

Only issue is that the tablet is freezing sometimes on wakeup and I have to reboot. Does not happen very often though.

Is it possible to have the automatic night light fixed or is this a general Lineage issue?
Settings > Display > Night Light > Schedule > Sunrise/Sunset

# How to install

1. Unlock the bootloader.
2. Download TWRP and flash the recovery image via Odin.
3. Download LineageOS 18.1 for Galaxy Tab S3.
   • Be aware of the board name.
4. Download GAPPS for Android 11 and the others you want to flash.
   • Only OpenGApps is tested. (open_gapps-arm64-11.0-pico-20210130-TEST.zip)
5. Enter TWRP recovery.
   • The first boot to TWRP might be very slow because of the unmatched file systems.
6. Format the whole system, data, cache partitions using the format menu.
   • You will type `yes` to do that.
7. Flash the images.
   • If you're going to install GApps or something, you have to install the LineageOS first.
8. Reboot the system.
9. Done.

# Known issues

• OTG drives may show nothing even if it mounted
• The side button on S-Pen is working but you must use the proper application that can handle the button event
• Fast-charging won't work properly, it sometimes works but most of the time it won't
• Sometimes turning on the flashlight via the quick panel doesn't work after using a camera app
• Using a camera app may cause reducing the UI performance on a launcher app
• The tablet rarely reboots with a GMS related error
• Unlocking the lock screen can make tablets not usable sometimes (black screen)
• CTS profile will not be fixed (excepts some distributions that have some fixes for CTS profile)
