It has occurred to me that this is an Android 11 ROM. Yet I'm running surya_global_images_V12.0.8.0.QJGMIXM_20210222.0000.00_10.0_global_4a725b5dcd.tgz which is Android 10 based firmware.

Should I be upgrading the firmware to miui_SURYAEEAGlobal_V12.0.6.4.RJGEUXM_393436f62d_11.0.zip which is Android 11 based firmware?

I'm wondering if this is why integrated SD card storage is buggy, and why Android Auto doesn't work over USB with this ROM - maybe incompatible firmware (Android 10) and OS (Android 11).

No, don't upgrade your firmware unless the developer of any rom tells it is safe to do so. No custom rom is compatible with Android 11 firmware unless you see that confirmed in the flashing instructions for any rom.

Then shouldn't I be using an Android 10 based ROM such as LineageOS 17, then? Aren't there risks around using an Android 11 based ROM when the firmware is not Android 11 based?

You may expect some bugs because developers adapt themselves their roms to work with the Android 11 base even when sources for that version hasn't been released by Xiaomi yet.
Probably you may face less bugs in an Android 10 based rom but in my experiencie either Android 10 or Android 11 based roms are relatively stable.
At the moment I have only tried 3 custom roms: LineageOS 17, LineageOS 18.1 and ArrowOS based on Android 11. ArrowOS is the most stable rom of the three but in the end is up to you to decide in which rom you find less bugs or which rom do you prefer.

WiFi calling is does not work on my Poco X3 NFC and my German provider (Mobilcom-Debitel, a reseller of O2), however it has worked with the stock ROM before. (The option is activated in the settings.)
I only noticed that the device name of the LineageOS ROM differs from the stock ROM device name, could that make a difference?

Hi Guys. Can I install this Rom from another custom ROM? do I need to follow any special steps to do it or it is just as I installed the other custom rom (flash, format data, reboot?)?

This is what I did:
1. Flash an Android 10 based stock ROM (at least v12.0.7.0) with MiFlash.
2. Boot to TWRP recovery.
3. I didn't wipe anything.
4. Install the ROM.
5. Run Format Data (yes)
6. Reboot to system.

Soooo... Installing the Vendor first, then the Update? Some formatting or rebooting in between? Just to be sure...
It seems MIUI first, then FW, then LOS, then GApps and Magisk if you need them. Not sure any reboot really required and hope no formatting and wiping required if you come from prev subject version of course. But I can't check now, need phone for calls

This is kind of a perfect ROM. No issues using so far.
In android debugging however (when debugging apps via adb) there is this weird error looping in the debugger and overwhelming my development logs:

    Code:
F/crash_dump64(21360): crash_dump.cpp:592] Failed to init unwinder object.
F/crash_dump64(21388): crash_dump.cpp:592] Failed to init unwinder object.
F/crash_dump64(21431): crash_dump.cpp:592] Failed to init unwinder object.
F/crash_dump64(21484): crash_dump.cpp:592] Failed to init unwinder object.
F/crash_dump64(21507): crash_dump.cpp:592] Failed to init unwinder object.

this rom is good and snappy, i really loved this rom but the problem is cant pass safetynet. i tried the prop method but still doesnt work.

if i flash the rom without magisk, my banking app still recognize the device as rooted even its not rooted
