Hi, just share the gapps here...

Thanks, for those. As I had gapps before, these were needed to get the ROM to boot.
I was using TWRP. I updated from the previous version of this ROM (Lineageos 17.1).
In TWRP -> Install -> Choose the Rom.zip. (I wiped dalvik and cache, but I am not sure if that is needed). Go back. Install -> gapps.zip -> Reboot.

I had the same problem as mentioned in 2. by @Micropod. To remove the lock I followed:

Excuse me, I want to ask that is this rom have navigation gesture? Cuz all of my navigation buttons are dead and the last time I install a Lineage 17 rom, it's doesn't have the gesture.
Thank you for your works :>

U can activate manually software nav bar aka navigation bar

Add this line into build.prop

qemu.hw.mainkeys=0

Save it and reboot the phone.

Great ROM! Running it right now on the VZW varient that I dusted off that was running 17.1 official prior.

I used Heimdall to flash the lineage 18.1 recovery, wiped everything as instructed and installed lineage then flashed Magisk. Played with stock for a bit and flashed gapps from the official test fork on github.

Works great, no lock screen issues. I didn't set my lock until after a full first boot followed by a reboot, so it may be that or using the recommended recovery to wipe.

I do have the same problem where the system becomes unresponsive for 5 to 20 seconds on occasion. It first happened testing out the new screen recording option.

Screen record worked fine on the second attempt.

So far everything is here and new features seem to work great, especially music controls on the notification menu and new shutdown screen.

Haven't tested Bluetooth yet but happy to try anything out if people have questions.

Update on the system UI freezing. I get regular freezes scrolling and clicking and swiping in Relay for Reddit.

I turned on developer drawing and the system stops drawing for 20 seconds or so when its in this state. Seem to have a lot to do with swiping and scrolling.

If you wait long enough everything catches up all at once. May be a buffer issue.

Are you able to show a few screenshots?

The screenshots would just show a frozen screen. If you wait long enough you get the option of force closing reddit or waiting. I rebooted and took a logcat and kernel log. Look for reddit in the log, it shows that the system finds the touch input unresponsive.

Yes it works fine on my side (hlte n9005) flashed both newest 18.1 build + gapps and magisk with new TWRP 3.5.0

Are you experiencing the system hangs after using this method?

Never had this problem on 17.1 but I didn't play with it too much. Most apps don't do this including Sync for reddit or the Bromite browser. Those both run and have never frozen.

Screen record can trigger the same event but I haven't captured that log yet.

---------[UPDATE]--------:
I reviewed the logs and it looks like errors start appearing while Relay for Reddit is pre-fetching content (HD video, image) and logs show very low available memory. I've found other threads on Android 11 and bad memory management. The Relay app shows "legacy storage" in the logs as well while most other apps do not.

Turning pre-fetch off entirely has stopped the system hangs for the moment, but I think the issue may be memory related.

Yes still happens sometimes even on newest build , I've also experience it on official 17.1 back then when I last used it (about couple of months ago) .

My device is SM-N9002 which is not listed, it would be appreciated if you can make SM-N9002 compatible with this ROM and support dual SIM card at the same time.

any news from updating ?? last update is a month now?? still can not run youtube app (just it)
There has been nothing committed to either platform or device-specific trees to make a new build worth it. A new unofficial, and maybe an official promotion, should come in the next week or so.

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 11, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps) . LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

Base source code is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to the project, please visit our Gerrit Code Review.

    Device source code:
    Kernel source code:
    My picks:

    Build Compatibility:
The noted models are the only ones supported. If you have a model that isn't listed and ask politely then I might work to add compatibility.
    BuildModel
    hlteSM-N9005, SM-N900P
    hltechnSM-N9008V
    hltekorSM-N900K, SM-N900L, SM-N900S
    hltetmoSM-N900R4, SM-N900T, SM-N900V, SM-N900W8

    Downloads:
    Installation Instructions:
    • Download latest build
    • Boot into recovery
      • Lineage recovery images are included in the download section and that's what I support. If you feel like using TWRP and something isn't working then take it up with the TWRP maintainer
    • If not updating from one of my earlier unofficial builds, then format/system, /data, and /cache
      • For Lineage recovery:
        • Format -> Format data/factory reset (this does /data and /cache)
        • Format -> Format system partition
      • For TWRP figure it out. And no, "wipe data" isn't the same as formatting data
    • Install LineageOS zip
    • If this is your initial installation of LineageOS 18.1, then flash any addons (e.g., gapps)
    Reporting Bugs:
    • DO NOT even think about reporting bugs if you are running a custom kernel, Magisk, or Xposed
    • Grab a logcat after the problem has occurred
    • If there is a random reboot then grab /proc/last_kmsg. A logcat AFTER the reboot will be worthless
    • Note which build AND device you have
    • Read the thread, at least the last month's worth of posts. Don't report things that others already have.
    Compatibility Notes:
    • External SD cards don't support POSIX (ext*, f2fs) or NTFS filesystems anymore. It was kind of broken in 17 and we likely won't merge the changes to add it back in for 18. I'm not going to pick the open changes to re-add support because I'm not going to deal with "but it worked on haggertk's unofficial builds" bug reports after we eventually go official. If this affects you then just bite the bullet, copy any data off you really want to save, and reformat as exfat.
    Donations:
    • I absolutely don't personally accept them. If you really feel that this work deserves it, then find a local food bank or animal shelter/rescue and throw some money their way. You can also throw some the way of LineageOS, but we're actually doing pretty well right now.

long time no updates on the topic and on the files!!

I don't upload new builds unless they contain what I feel are arbitrarily "important enough" changes. There will be new builds in the next couple days with the March patch level.
