samsung why we have android 6 with device mf sumsung . google oixel its good and upgrade old samsung its trash? sumsung its mf company and other company
Isn't it the total space, with the sdcard?

I have normal storage size reported. I use SD card as portable storage for media.

Also I changed battery management to profilr Power Save , or turned on extreme power saving, and I did not have any more crashes in browser or in other apps since.

I like this rom, it is snappy.

I have tried a few different ROMs and they all have some annoying issues. This is the best one so far! IT is the only one (including stock) that doesn't have a problem with webview (I don't know exactly what it is but it will crash when trying to play embedded video. It works on this ROM).

Excellent work; looking forward to updates

First Beta of Lineage 18.1 for SM-T805 (chagalllte)
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1TmNhkxmLlvSIvMqTJrYQPJ5R9s4U6rVO/view?usp=share_link
This is a non-SELinux enforcing build, signed with the standard LineageOS test keys , so you will have notifications from "Trust"

First Impressions is that 18.1 is an improvement over 17.1 in regards to speed/responsiveness of the interface.

Note: Please DON'T update to LineageOS Recovery - it's horrible

This is the ONLY model that the ROM will work on.

Before deciding to install this ROM, please backup anything/everything important.
Also have a build handy you can revert to in the event this build is not working.
If you think this is an unreasonable request, then stop reading now and find another ROM. Thank you.

DISCLAIMER

I am not responsible for lost data, identity theft, lost money, security vulnerabilities, bricked devices or any other hardware or software malfunctions that comes as a result of flashing this ROM.

All involved in bringing this build to you, I am working voluntarily on it in very limited spare time, and their other life commitments have much higher priority. Don't expect a prompt, or even any, response to questions and bug reports.

Before attempting to install this ROM

1. Ask yourself: would bricking your device be a disaster for you? If yes, don't try this ROM! It can't be guaranteed stable and reliable enough to depend on for daily use.
2. BACKUP YOUR DATA AND EXISTING ROM. Be prepared for a complete restore if anything goes wrong.
3. RESEARCH adb, fastboot, Odin/heimdall, and TWRP and how to use them, if not already familiar with these.

What works
wifi
brightness
audio through loudspeaker
audio through headphone jack
DRM level 3 (SD definition)
deep sleep
RIL - mobile data and telephony/SMS - some limitations for telephony audio options
hardware buttons and lighting
gapps nano version for arm, android 11

What doesn't work:-
Camera Video Recording - as it's the LineageOS camera app, it doesn't save. I haven't replaced it yet with a camera application that works.

DRM level 1 (no HD definition). It is practically impossible to achieve level 1 for HD definition.
If you need HD definition for your streaming media, stay with stock Samsung ROM.

Possibly other features that I haven't tested or do not use.

Thanks for the dev to bring this up.

I've installed it on my Galaxy Tab S ChagalWifi and it seems to be working fine.

---------------

For other users with Chagallwifi to install it:

1. Unpacked the signed zip
2. Go to META-INF/com/google/android
3. Edit updater-script
4. Remove the first line:

assert(getprop("ro.product.device") == "chagalllte" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "chagalllte" || abort("E3004: This package is for device: chagalllte; this device is " + getprop("ro.product.device") + ".")

5. Repack it with anything that can create a zip file like winrar.
6. Install with TWRP.

I understand the developer locking the install to selected versions of this tablet, it's a pain having every kind of users complaning for something that you can't even test because I don't have the same version of the tablet.

So.. do it at your own risk and don't nag the developer if something doesn't work with this bypass.

This is just standard lineage install script behaviour.
Part of the reason is, there are specific start up programs and hardware devices specific to the platform/tablet i.e. RIL modem.
Can happen when the programs don't successfully start, you end up in a boot loop situation.

Oh ok, thanks for letting me know.

I've used the tablet a while now and except that it's charging very slowly it's working as expected.

Oh ok, thanks for letting me know.

I've used the tablet a while now and except that it's charging very slowly it's working as expected.
I've noticed some chargers are not detected as being able to supply +1500mAh
and end up being detected as only capable of 4-500mAh - typical usb power

The nominal capacity of the original battery is 7900mAh (iirc)
So according to battery charging calculators ,
23.7 hour(s) to be fully recharged with 400 mA charger
6.32 hours with a 1500mAh charger

Interesting, I'll try a different charger but I'm using the one that came with my galaxy s20 fe and it's capable of fast charging.

I'll look into it.

use ADB , turn on wireless debugging in developer options and connect wirelessly so you can have your charger plugged in.
look at the kernel messages.
eg. issue ->
adb connect <enter.your.ip.number:port>
adb root
adb shell dmesg | grep sec-battery

Look for Imax text

i.e. this is what I currently get , plugged into USB , draws 400mA from the USB port.

sec_bat_get_battery_info:Vnow(3807mV),Inow(-1072mA),Imax(400mA),SOC(67%),Tbat(261),is_hc_usb(0)

Hi!
I'm starting to test this on a chagalllte and it looks promising, I'd love to help you debug it and if you would allow me to, I'd love to build a crDroid version of it when possible (I maintain some official crDroid ports).

Like I said, it looks really good, I'll do more tests and report back.

Thanks for your work :)

@bluess57 thanks again for your build - i have been running it on SM-T800 and it does run better than LoS17.1. In your next build, can you make it such I can directly flash on T800 without the need to modify the install script? I think there are a few here who have installed on T800 and it works nicely. You can make it T805 and T800.

I tried to install it from twrp on my sm-t800 following the steps mention before but having the error "invalid zip file format;" . maybe i am doing something wrong in the repacking . what are you guys using to edit the file? Thanks in advance
I ran into this same problem. The issue is probably due to you creating the zip file from the high level folder. You need to be in the folder, select all the files and folders to include in the zip. Not sure if I am explaining it right. Basically take a quick look at the zip file you created by double clicking on it. Windows should take you into it. If the only thing you see if a folder and nothing else, then the zip is wrong. Again you need to create the zip from within the extracted folder. You should immediately see 2 folders and 4 files. Hope this helps.
