You don't have to keep asking me to reply. This roomservice file you need to download into your /android/lineage-18.1/.repo/local_manifests folder.

I've installed the 18.1 build from 08/24 and it works pretty good for me. Today I saw the new build from 09/17 and directly downloadet it. Now I wanted to install it, did reebot to recovery and was surprised TWRP seems to be gone. I reached an other recovery (system standard?). I'm not sure how to get back TWRP now, because I don't have an PC anymore. Is there a way to install TWRP without an PC?

The rom is flashed to a different partition than TWRP. Force reboot by pressing volume down and power together. As soon as the screen shuts off, press the volume up, power, and home buttons together. You should see a blue line of text in the top left of the screen when the white SAMSUNG appears.

@Ike13, is the 'other' recovery LineageOS Recovery? During LOS setup on first boot there's an option to install LOS Recovery. If you tick that box, it'll overwrite TWRP with LOS Recovery. Could you have done that accidentally when installing the 08/24 build?

LOS Recovery can of course do LOS clean installs and updates, so you don't really need TWRP if that's all you need to do.

Otherwise ... I don't know of a simple, safe way to install TWRP without using a PC, but someone else might.

There is a simple way to restore TWRP if the device is rooted - use the Official TWRP App to flash TWRP.

I have tested this and it appears to work. First I flashed LOS recovery with TWRP and confirmed that recovery was now LOS, not TWRP. Then booted system, ran the TWRP app and told it to flash TWRP (it offers the option to download any TWRP version for the device, or select a local file). Then rebooted recovery and confirmed it was TWRP again.

First of all a VERY HUGE THANKS!!! to @ripee and all the developers behind this making our old devices usable again!

Now a bug on LOS 18.1 tab s2 t815/y the backlight turns on for 10 seconds thats more than someone would need also the backlight turns on when touching the screen.
Also there is no setting for turning it off or decreasing its time.
Please fix this bug or if there is a workaround tell us.

Did anyone try to install the new 18.1 build 20210917 on SM-T815 / gts210ltexx?
Do mobile data and Wifi work in this new build?
Any other major bugs observed?
I´m hesitent to risk a full wipe and clean installation if the basic functions are not functional yet.

On T810, the 18.1 build runs like a charm. Battery is quite stable and Wifi issue is solved. Great thanks to the developers
Only the backlight bug as reported by Sappron is also there.

That´s great, thanks @ripee !!
Have dirty flashed the latest 18.1 build for T815 + Open GAPPS 11 Pico + Magisk 23 over the latest 17.1 build via TWRP followed by "Wipe Cache/Dalvik" and "Reboot System".
The device booted without any issues on 18.1 build and worked perfectly. All data and settings were kept.
This is really a great improvement compared to full wipe & clean flash.

- The backlight bug reported for T810 is partly not present on T815. The backlight is disabled (fine for me). In settings there is also no possibility to change the backlight settings (at least I didn´t find it).
- Extended start button menu: "Boot to Recovery Option" is back again and quite helpful.
- Homebutton not working
- left hard button (showing the last apps used) not working
- Developer Options could not be activated by clicking a few times on build number
- Mobile data / SIM card is not working yet in this build (18.1_20210917).

Since mobile data are a "must" for me, I tried to return to the latest 17.1 build by dirty flash.
- Reboot System after dirty flash of 17.1 over 18.1 build failed unfortunately. After a long booting period the device booted in TWRP recovery. Tried to reboot again after another Wipe Cache & Dalvik with the same outcome: Boot ended in TWRP recovery.
- To avoid full wipe / clean flash of 17.1, have now flashed again the 18.1 build + Open GAPPS 11 Pico + Magisk 23 and have to live without mobile data for the time being.
Learning: Dirty Flash from 17.1 to 18.1 works fine but not in the other direction.
=> In case you will need mobile data on T815 working, stay on 17.1 until this is fixed in future 18.1 builds.
@ripee: Could the mobile data bug and the other mentioned bugs be fixed?

I have installed the latest 18.1 build on de t710, don't have any backlight issues. WiFi is really stable now for me. I had graphical glitches in the 17.1 build, there gone in this one.

I only have one minor issue. Maybe it's because I updated to TWRP 3.5.2 I don't know. But when I turn of the tablet and put it in the charger it boots in stead of going to the simple charge animation (green big battery thing). Anyone else had this problem of anyone knows how to fix?

Did a latest 0930 flash over 0917 build on T810. Everything seems working smoothly except the loss of SD card problem still persists in the 0930 build. More testing is coming. Thanks as usual.

Installed 0930 over 0917 on the 710, I don't have an SD card problem. Never had that with any build. Only still the auto power on when charging. Apart from that this build is really good and stable. I have no reboots and WiFi works great now with MESH WiFi access points.

The SM-T710 doesn't have a 64-bit CPU so you will always need to run 32 bits version (also need the GApps version in 32-bit)

The Exynos 5433 and Snapdragon 652 that are used in the SM-T710 are indeed 64bit SoCs. But as there has never been a 64bit capable kernel in Samsungs stock ROMs, we have to stick to 32bit version ROMs.
However, a 64bit ROM would not bring any advantages anyway, since the tablet only includes 3GB of RAM.

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device. All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. If you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit our Gerrit Code Review.

    Code:
    * [B][U]Your warranty is now void.[/U][/B]
I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
    * thermonuclear war, or your getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
    * do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
    * before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
    * you point the finger at us for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

(Please read them BEFORE posting anything in the thread!)
Q: Whenever I try flashing any lineage-18.1 build, I get the following error in TWRP: Updater process ended with ERROR: 7
A: This error appears whenever you try to flash an Q-based rom within a version of TWRP older than 3.5. Simply flash the linked below version 3.5 or higher, reboot back into recovery, and flash the rom zip again.

Q: Will any of the variants ever receive official builds from LineageOS?
A: In short, no. The reason is that, in order to get a modern version of Android working properly on an ageing device some legacy commits needed to have been re-introduced into the current source branch. These include a fix for something as fundamental as Wi-Fi.

Q: How often will new builds be released?
A: At least once per month: as soon as possible after each new Android security patch level is merged and whenever a new feature is added or a bug is fixed.

    ROMs

    Magisk

If your currently installed ROM is any version of either: stock Samsung TouchWiz, LineageOS, CyanogenMod, or any other custom ROM, you must perform a clean install of that LineageOS 18.1 variant, which corresponds to the model of your tablet!

Typically if you do not do a Clean Install then you are not allowed to report errors or problems. If you Dirty Install and you do have problems then you will be asked to Wipe All and Clean Install and see if the problems still exist. This is a DAILY changing rom and any bug that you found was not working on the previous day's build may be fixed with todays daily build. On a side note, the code implemented to fix that bug could potentially break something that worked on that previous build. So reporting problems on a day old build that you dirty flashed over whichever build of whichever rom you had flashed previously will not be accepted as a true error.

Problems known to happen after a Dirty Installation
    1. A muddled up mess of a system. You are taking a rom and installing a newer rom with changes over the top of your old rom. Between these two periods of time during which you used your tablet and created data, changed system options, and used apps. This is absolutely increasing the risk of causing problems somewhere in the system/data partitions. Some people have luck with Dirty Flashing. However, it's always hit-and-miss because of what we mentioned above about bug fixes breaking previously working functions. Dirty flashing doesn't only create problems if the source code of the system data and the system settings of the new build are significantly different from those of your previous build. That's not to say that Clean Installing won't ever create problems, but only bugs present on a Cleanly Installed rom are relevant for development purposes.

    * Clean Install: Fully wiping everything and installing the rom onto a fully clean system/data partition of the tablet.

    * Dirty Install: Installing the rom and GApps over top of the older rom to save time and not have to reinstall all the user apps and tweaking system and app settings that usually take a lot of time to set up as you like.

    Bugs
    - The microphone is able to record sound, but the sound is very faint. This is due to Samsung's proprietary drivers, as determined by Skulldron.
    - T710 & T715/Y: Camera viewfinder is misaligned with the dimentions of the display, such that the shutter button is almost off the screen
    - You tell us!

    Changelog
All major features and bug fixes are discussed in detail by the developers in the thread, whenever they are implemented. All builds include the latest upstream Changes for all devices from LineageOS.
