Sorry man, my backups are tblte only. This highlights the need to, and importance of archiving. I think we should all help out on that front as the devs usually run into local/cloud space constraints.
I can't contribute, because I'm in poverty. Yeah I would help out devs if I had money and donate also to pay to have Android 13 roms built for the Galaxy Note 4

Donating is encouraged, but I was referring to the archiving of older ROMs - the smooth-running ones in particular. That way, even if the dev deletes them to save space, someone would always have a copy.

Anyone got working gps on 18.1? I'm on 18.1-20211121-trlte and I can not get a lock. I'm scared to try to go back to 17.1-20210414 if people can't boot in it.

I've not have many problems with it other than the default camera app is a piece, gps doesn't work and the battery drains is pretty high.

Thinking of giving cRdroid 8.1 a shot for a while. I hear its really stable.

Imho "format data" is missing in your list.
That's what I always do for a clean flash.
Tried without flashing Gapps?
Btw which one did you use?

"Format data" after wipe cause lost everythings on my phone and i need, after that to recopy, from my pc, all three files to my phone.

Anyway yes........ before the last "full wipe" i have tryed to flash only the los 18.1 and apparently the phone can boot to system.
After that, whitout touching anythings, i have reboot to recovery and i have flashed the Gapps and Magisk and also after that i can boot correctly los 18.1 but sync it's not works... apparently the gapps no works.

At this point i have tryed to flash all in order... rom + gapps + magisk and it's not boot.

What did i use ? Rom i use current and latest los from ripee gdrive:
lineage-18.1-20221214-UNOFFICIAL-trlte.zip

Gapps the current and latest:
open_gapps-arm-11.0-stock-20220215.zip
(also tryed whit nano package whit same result)

Magisk:
the current 25.2 apk... Magisk-v25.2.apk from github.

If i remember you are join in the dev_users on telegram group ? I have post some other info there.

Anyway i can retry because i have lost anythings one time and my phone it's not completely clear..
I can retry also to do a full wipe in this mode:
1- Wipe Cache, Dalvik, System e Data
2- From main menu, wipe, click on format data e confirm whit yes.

At this point all content on phone it's be deleted..... i need to connect my phone to PC by usb cable and i can copy all files on his:
Rom, gapps and Magisk

Tryed to Flash and no works........ also same result....... stuck at boot logo for about 4 or 5 minutes and self reboot to recovery.

This morning i have made another test:
1) Wipe Dalvik, System, Data, Internal Storage
2) Back to main screen, Wipe -> Format Data -> type yes to confirm

After that phone it's completely clean...all files as been deleted.

Back to main screen of recovery:
1) Attach Phone to PC whit a USB Cable.
2) Copy from PC to "Internal Storage" this file:
lineage-18.1-20221214-UNOFFICIAL-trlte.zip
Magisk-v25.2.apk
open_gapps-arm-11.0-stock-20220215.zip

3) Install in order ROM -> Gapps -> Magisk

4) After 3 complete install, wipe Cache and Dalvik

5) Try to Reboot to System

No work......... stuck at boot animation....... pass about 5 minutes and reboot himself to Recovery.

What version of TWRP are you using?
Latest... https://dl.twrp.me/trlte/twrp-3.7.0_9-0-trlte.img.html

But i have ever used this version recently..........

Anyway i have good news....... apparently it's REBORN!! MY NOTE 4 it's reborn.

I have do this:
Again full wipe... Data, cache, internal storage, system, dalvik

After that format data and yes.

Attach my phone and copy all 3 files previously cited.

Flashed only the roms and made first boot to system.

Restart to recovery........ and flashed Opengapps + Magisk and BAAAM... this time it's restart!!!

Rom it's correctly BOOT!!!

Add my account GOOGLE AND THIS TIME........... BAAAAM....... Google correctly SYNC My contats immediatelly!!

At this point i have tryed to reinstall some app like Telegram, Whatsapp etc etc.

Shutdown my phone, remove battery and put my sim card BACK......... Try to turn on and BAAAM...

It's BOOT!! Los it's correctly BOOT and DAMN!!! I can make a call......

From now i never reboot my phone........ Could it just be a coincidence?

Onestly it's so many years whitout doing a very full wipe........ instead i have about 10 / 15 dirty flash and and maybe some partition was partially corrupted ?

I don't have idea........... so now apparently my phone it's usable.

Need to test the stability during my daily usage.

.....
open_gapps-arm-11.0-stock-20220215.zip....
That's what I asked for.
At the times I used Open-Gapps I always took pico version.
Having some problems installing openGapps I switched to BitGapps with no problems further on.

btw I always use SD card so no need for me to copy after format data

A lol.... but from first post you can read:
FULL WIPE (without external microsd card with Home PC access)

It's suggested to format data but it's not reported this procedure WIPE and delete completely all content of phone and you need to copy the usefull file from pc :)
Anyway it's not a big problems...... the only warning it's to SAFE all you want file on your PC and you can do it from recovery simply connect phone by usb to pc (it's appears like a pendrive) before to make all wipe and format data :)

On my case i have misunderstanding the three guide suggested and i have lost everythings all my phone. luckily for me I'm not one who likes to keep important data i have miss some photo but nothings of really important things.

Anyway from this afternoon apparently my note4, right now, it's enough stable. No crash and also the battery drain it's not so bad.

Maybe I had given him up for lost too early ? LOL...

Anyway....... on my case i have used the stock package only because i preferred to install two addictional package respect the nano package.
I have decided to install the "Google Dialer" and "Google Contacts" for usage the built in spam caller filter included.
I know i can install it's after from playstore...... but i have decided to use stock package but whit usage of "gapps-config.txt"

On my case it's configured like this:
Code:

It's obvious, that Android 12/12L roms like "Lineage 19.1" aren't going to be created for this 2014 flagship. Though this device is capable of running Android 12 like the Galaxy Note 3 is : (

I've been anticipating Android 12 for the Trlte series Galaxy Note 4 for over a year and it's just not happening it seems. Would've been cool to test it on my Note 4 like I have on my Galaxy Note 3.
I would think that there will be an AOSP version of Android 13 for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Note edge. In Note 3 there is android 12 aosp, probably because several applications no longer support andoid 5, the latest ROM update from samsung store, for Note 3 and S4. While the Galaxy note 4 and Note Edge, with their latest ROM update on android 6, still works perfectly well, in all applications, without problems. From what I understand then, that you don't need an AOSP. But when the minimum requirement of the apps is android 7, and there is little left for that, because Ghrome, and Android System WebView, from version 107, no longer supports Android 6, forcing this, to have to configure, to firfox, or to the Samsung Browser, as the default browser, to open the apps without errors. So, it won't be that long for AOSP developers to update future Androis versions again, for the Galaxy Note 4, and Note edge

So that's the reason development came to a halt for those devices. Yeah Lollipop is nearly a decade old at this point. While Marshmallow is getting up there too

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device. All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. If you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit our Gerrit Code Review.

    Code:
    * [B][U]Your warranty is now void.[/U][/B]
    * We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
    * thermonuclear war, or your getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
    * do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
    * before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
    * you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you.

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

(Please read them BEFORE posting anything in the thread!)
Q: Whenever I try flashing any lineage-18.1 build, I get the following error in TWRP: Updater process ended with ERROR: 7
A: This error appears whenever you try to flash an Oreo-based rom within a version of TWRP older than 3.5. Simply flash the linked below version 3.5 or higher, reboot back into recovery, and flash the rom zip again.

Q:Will any of the variants receive official builds from LineageOS?
A: In short, no. While official support would certainly add credibility to our work, there is absolutely no reason to believe that unofficial builds are any less secure or stable than official ones. Naturally all the bugs listed below would first need to be fixed, but still the process of submitting and maintaining official support is very time-consuming and not something I, for one, am unable to make such a commitment.
Note to Junior Members: It is frowned upon in the XDA community to ask for ETA's on builds, features, bug fixes, or other improvements to the code or its functionality.

Q: Why is my phone warmer/hotter and the battery noticeably drained after flashing a build?
A: The wipe process that is a part of the installation procedure deletes some important configuration data, ie. BATTERYSTATS, which keep track of the battery's power level. These data ensure a balanced power management profile for all the hardware components of your phone. This is normal and nothing to worry about at all. Your battery drain will return to normal within a day or two.

If, however, you notice increased battery drain over a few days, check your signal. Android automatically re-directs battery power to the antennas to compensate for a weak signal from the tower to which your phone is connected at that time. If your signal is strong, check the following:
    1) You missed one of the Wipe steps in the flashing procedure.
    2) You are running an old bootloader or modem. Flash the most recent one listed for your variant under the links in the TWRP thread. Note: Use the "AP" button in Odin to flash ripee's combined BL_CP tar files.
    3) How old is your battery? Official replacement Samsung batteries typically last around 1 year if you recharge them regularly, ie. once a day. Since the Note 4 is almost 6 years old, it is normal for your original battery to start failing, but official Samsung batteries should not cost more than USD 20 nowadays.
    4) If all else fails, start over! Go through the entire installation procedure, including flashing a stock Marshmallow build, and going from there. Do NOT skip any steps this time!

    Q. Flashing a build failed with the message "eMMC Write Fail".
    A. This is the infamous embedded Multi-Media Controller bug that indicates that your internal flash memory is dead or dying. Do NOT try any tricks or crazy ideas to fix it, as they are all hoaxes! The ONLY way to get rid of it is to open your phone up and replace its logic board. :p

Important information about stock S Pen functionality!
The apps, libraries, and drivers that allow for the advanced S Pen-based functions in stock TouchWiz and TouchWiz-based custom roms WILL NEVER BE INCLUDED IN ANY AOSP-BASED ROMS due to their proprietary nature. The scope of these functions goes beyond simple vendor blobs and enters the realm of 3rd party intellectual property licensed to Samsung. The S Pen does work in all AOSP-based custom roms, however it acts simply as an alternative input device. Various open source 3rd party apps are available that take advantage of the Note 4's stylus (see above), but their functionality is a fraction of that of stock TouchWiz.

Typically if you do not do a Clean Install then you are not allowed to report errors or problems. If you Dirty Install and you do have problems then you will be asked to Wipe All and Clean Install and see if the problems still exist. This is a DAILY changing rom and any bug that you found was not working on the previous day's build may be fixed with todays daily build. On a side note, the code implemented to fix that bug could potentially break something that worked on that previous build. So reporting problems on a day old build that you dirty flashed over whichever build of whichever rom you had flashed previously will not be accepted as a true error.

Problems known to happen after a Dirty Installation
    1. A muddled up mess of a system. You are taking a rom and installing a newer rom with changes over the top of your old rom. Between these two periods of time during which you used your phone and created data, changed system options, and used apps. This is absolutely increasing the risk of causing problems somewhere in the system/data partitions. Some people have luck with Dirty Flashing. However, it's always hit-and-miss because of what we mentioned above about bug fixes breaking previously working functions. Dirty flashing doesn't only create problems if the source code of the system data and the system settings of the new build are significantly different from those of your previous build. That's not to say that Clean Installing won't ever create problems, but only bugs present on a Cleanly Installed rom are relevant for development purposes.

    * Clean Install: Fully wiping everything and installing the rom onto a fully clean system/data partition of the phone.

    * Dirty Install: Installing the rom and GApps over top of the older rom to save time and not have to reinstall all the user apps and tweaking system and app settings that usually take a lot of time to set up as you like.

    Bugs
    - When the phone is powered off from Lineage and the battery is not removed, the battery charge will fall at an approximate rate of 2% per hour of time that the phone is powered off without the battery having been removed since it was powered off. This does not occcur when powering off from TWRP, having first powered up to TWRP or rebooted to TWRP from Lineage. It also does not occur if the battery is removed from the phone before being put back in, either after powering off from Lineage or being pulled out while Lineage is running. This bug has affected the apq8084 chipset since Oreo (as described by the S5 Plus community, which uses the same chipset). However, the S5 Plus had received official lineage-15.1 and 16.0 support despite being affected by this bug. Furthermore, we have deduced that it must be caused by one or more of the 652 commits that separate the Nougat and Oreo kernel branches. We will never have the time to go through each and every one of these commits to fix this bug outright, but we are always open to suggestions.
    - If NFC is turned off when the phone is booted up, the NFC toggle will freeze in the "off" position and remain off until the phone is rebooted. If NFC is turned on when the phone is booted up, the NFC toggle will function properly to turn NFC both on and off. However, if NFC is turned off and the phone is rebooted, this bug will reappear.
    - The 2nd SIM slot does not work in any trlteduos variant.
    - VoLTE is not supported, and will not be supported for the foreseeable future.
