Hello OP, would you please update the security patch for the LOS 18.1 ROM?
Thanks!
Please do not consider these tablets secure, no matter what security patch the ROMs have. Our tablets have not gotten vendor/firmware (and kernel) patches for years and the bootloader is unlocked. These security patches I can provide improve security just on some minor level.

No matter, it's on my ToDo list. I also have not forgotten the PullRequest from @5centr5 (sorry for keeping you waiting that long). I'm just very busy at the moment and need to priorize my time, especially because my new project (an Android app for file encryption) will be published shortly.

I will keep updating this rom irregularly until I get another device. Looking forward to the announced Google tablet.

Thank you, thank you for this build! Just migrated from unofficial 17.1 via clean flash with opengapps. So far things are pretty much ok with one exception: after reboot the camera app is gone completly... so my question is: which GCAM is recommende for Tab4 10? Any suggestion welcome.

Cannot confirm your issue with camera. AOSP Camera app is available on my device. However it does not support landscape mode, so whoever is using that camera is likely going to try an alternative. I can't answer your question about GCAM (maybe someone else can), I would give OpenCamera a try.
Next: do you maintain a Telegram channel or else... comments bugs to be left here or...?
Mostly this thread is used for reporting all kind of issues. Additionally discussions are enabled on GitHub too.

Btw I will provide a new update in the next two weeks.

Re camera: (1) installed a random gcam which shot the system into a bootloop (as expected...) upon reboot stock camera available again!
(2) Do we have android.hardware.camera2 implemented... will do some testing...

OK... here we go: installed MGC_7.3.020_Parrot043 V8.apk - works on the spot like a charm (download from Telegram; search for parrot043)
Edit: when running without gapps make sure to install Gcam Service Provider (Basic) available e. g. in F-Droid. Read the description there for an explanation what it does.

Re Netflix: installed Netflix 4.16.1 build 15145 (arm-v7a) (nodpi) (Android 4.4+) from APKMirror and it works. Didn't dare to update yet though.

Next issue: ZAPP (Mediathek on Android) only working partially. Mixed errors...no internet (BS)...codec missing...only one station loading (WDR) - all good on another device.
Any advice highly appreciated.

Only minor change in behavior after deleting app's cache ... all media on Mediathek played in sort of "slow motion" with no sound despite high bandwidth thru optical fiber.

Hey, I tried to wipe and clean install the latest LOS. I had long time ago unlocked bootloader, rooted etc etc. I wanted to have a tablet that didn't have my own google account on it, was planning to lend the tablet and have 1 app on it from an APK. Anyway, flashed twrp-3.6.2_9-0-X704F.img via fastboot, rebooted to recovery. Then flashed the ROM and see the error 'Cannot find Magisk Binaries - was data wiped or not decrypted? Reflash OTA from decrypted recovery or reflash magisk.' I Then flashed Magisk 25.2.zip (was an apk which I renamed to zip) and rebooted system. Gets to the Lineage animated logo but never any further (left overnight). I have gone back and wiped everything including data, but can't get passed this. Any advice on what to try? Thanks for keeping this device alive BTW!

I had to restore to factory with Rescue and Smart Assistant. After that, I started from zero again and proceeded to install TWRP, then flashed the latest ROM release. Getting to the Lineage Setup, but when prompted to select Wifi network, there are none displayed. I have to skip and complete setup. (I also skip the Sim Card missing prompt) After setup is complete, I go back and wifi is not switched on. Attempt to switch it on, but it never switches on. I remember that I had this issue way way back....cannot recall how to solve. Any suggestions? Have done factory reset and tried to setup again, same results.

Hi guys, on an 12+ month older build of this, but when I reboot into TWRP, I can't see the SDCARD storage at all, but it works fine when booted? any ideas. Tried newer and older TWRP releases and don't remember having this issue before.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review.

    Your warranty is now void.

I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.

    New build is up

    2021-06-27

    • SELinux Enforcing
    • Support fingerprint authentication in apps
    • Build kernel with clang compiler
    • Adjust kernel (add Wireguard VPN, drop zcache and legacy filesystems, etc.)
As communicated in the last release, build is available on GitHub. Those who have an account there can also be notified of new versions from GitHub by clicking on "Watch".

Otherwise, we are close to the goal, from my side, only the GPS needs to be fixed. Someone who has the appropriate tablet would have to work on mobile data. Everything else should work, as far as I know or have been told.

    New build is up

    2021-06-15

    • Upstream changes (including June security patch)
    • Fingerprint sensor bring up
    • Rebase kernel on kuntao (Lenovo P2)

Rebasing the kernel is associated with massive changes. On the one hand, there are bug fixes that prevent the kernel from crashing due to an exception in the WiFi driver. On the other hand, new problems can come along with it.

The new version (and the old ones) can now be found exclusively on GitHub. The link is in the first post.
