Permissive kernel is ok,please look at the permissive kernel post. I tested it on peplus13-20230403.
I've tried installing this. I am using twrp 3.7.0_13, have flashed official firmware 6.28 which boots fine, but then when I flash this ROM and reboot to system it boots back into recovery with the error:
--reason=enablefilecrypto_failed
I have tried formatting the data partition, and messing with dm-verity settings but haven't been able to resolve this.
Any ideas?

is the NFC work on 2023-03-15 version or 2023-01-30 version.

As shown in picture. try to erase Dalvik, Data, Cache, System, Vendor. And reflash the ROM
I've tried that multiple times and no luck. It seems there is something weird with encryption on my phone. I flashed Lineage 17.1 and that boots fine but when I try flashing anything Android 11/12/13 it now just boots back into twrp with that error. ( I was running an Android 13 ROM for a little while until now and I had tested about ten Android 12/13 ROMs prior to using that one without any problems).
Additionally twrp seems to be unable to read the internal storage whenever I reboot into recovery. If I plug into PC I can see the files fine but when I choose to install image in twrp /sdcard is empty. I have to format data and reboot to recovery to copy back files to install, but if I reboot to recovery again they are no longer visible and I have to format again.
Z17s is not Z17, the two phones are different.

Use the ROM given by me and the permissive kernel given by me. And you can use the permissive kernel and flash GSI...
NOTICE that, just flash kernel is enough, don't flash permissiver_v5.zip
What is your ROM? flash the correct "boot.img" and your phone will be good.

这个boot_permissive确实能起到等同于permissive_v5的作用，但是阻止不了警告的红色字体出现，可能是nipponGSI本身带“毒”，哈哈哈！
This boot_permissive can indeed play a role equivalent to permissive_v5, but it cannot prevent the red font of the warning from appearing. It may be that nipponGSI itself is "poisonous", hahaha!
我测试刷入Miku-gsi by xiaolegun，感觉很正常啊，使用的内核是kernelsu_permissive，这是一个需要permissive的GSI。有一点BUG但是至少能开机，图片发在酷安@霁月难逢彩云亦散。
你和我用的是一样的底包嘛？peplus 13 20230403? 或者你给我一个你之前能开机的nipponGSI我再深入测试一下？

Do you use the same base ROM as me? peplus 13 20230403? You can give me a good nipponGSI and I test it.
