Bit of a stretch to ask, but would it be possible for the build to identify itself as a tablet, rather than a phone? And the possibility of defaulting the orientation to landscape? (90 degree rotation as default rather than 0)
Yeah, I still have to look at how to configure the tablet/phone thing.

For the rotation, go to rotation settings and disable 0. Anyways I'll set it to 90 by default if it is configurable at build-time.

Hello,
Is there a possibility for SM-P619 LTE version?

This message was also sent on Telegram. ;-)

Thanks you

Has anyone else struggled to get the OEM unlock option to appear in the developer options settings menu? I've connected to WiFi, added a Google and Samsung account, tried setting the date back and fetching a software update, restarted etc., to no avail. Any tips?

Edit: Device is the SM-P613

I have made the update via recovery from the sdcard:

1. download LineageOS to sdcard
2. backup all apps with data via neobackup
3. reboot to recovery
4. in recovery:
format data/factory reset / format system partition
apply update / choose from sdcard -> install rom
(no system start!)
6. factory reset again (installation of magisk otherwise shows errors)
7. install magisk 25.2
8. system reboot
9. install magisk app and activate root
10. restore apps with data via neobackup

LineageOS with Lawnchair and also nova launcher and all f-droid apps works without problems.

The battery life is excellent.
I use afwall and adaway, both work very well.

Thanks again for this nice ROM!

Any chance of this going official in the future? The reason I ask is because I use MicroG so if it is official it will be added to the list to auto-compile for Lineage+MicroG.

I have just installed this. So far, so good. Anything I've tried is working, including the S-Pen. Tomorrow I'll be testing it as my daily driver so I'll be paying close attention to battery life but anyways, great job with this rom. I think many of us were waiting for this.

does this rom keep all the features of the S Pen from the oneui? or does it just have a normal support? do you have a video showcase of how it performs?

Well, the S-pen works as on OneUI in terms of precission and such (at least on my experience). But the ROM does not contain the S-pen tools (basically anything that is OneUI specific, including Samsung Notes). For replacing Samsung Notes I use Squid.

Alright, does it include the possibility to have windowed apps like oneui?

Has anyone been able to pair a bluetooth device ?
The devices are recognized but not paired. It may be a bug in the sources ?
Yeah, it is a bug. Will be fixed in the next build (at least pairing and connecting to the device, I'm still trying to fix bluetooth audio which doesn't work).

Edit:
Both bluetooth and bluetooth audio will be fixed on the next build.

New update available!
From now, builds will be hosted on https://files.danielml.dev/android/

A CLEAN FLASH HIGHLY IS RECOMMENDED. DIRTY FLASH MAY WORK, BUT ITS NOT RECOMMENDED.

Changelog:
- Initial build with source-built vendor
- Removed most Samsung's proprietary services
- Updated to March security patch
- Fixed bluetooth and bluetooth audio
- Fixed battery stats
- Switched to Pixel's power HAL
- Temporarily switched to permissive SELinux

Again, this build is for the WiFi-only model. I will soon start to work on the vendor part for the LTE model.

Great work @daniml3 !

Managed to flash this from Linux using odin4 (search the forums for a download link) :

./odin4 -a vbmeta.tar -a recovery.tar

I couldn't see an option on the Linux version of the tool to prevent the reboot so you have to be quick to hold power and volume up to get into recovery.

During the LineageOS setup, there is an option to "Update Lineage Recovery alongside the OS" - is this safe to enable? I'm guessing this won't really matter as there are no OTA updates as it's an unofficial ROM at this time?

Finally is there anywhere you accept donations for your efforts?

It should be safe to enable yeah. Although I'm not sure how it works (if it updates the recovery when updating through the updater, or if it updates it when booting the ROM just as the stock ROM does).

If you want to donate, you can via PayPal https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/danielml, and also cryptocurrencies. Thanks!

Thank you so much for you work @daniml3 . Was so disappointed to first find out lineage doesn't run on the qualcomm version. Then your thread magically appeared and I was able to flash the rom with a few minor hiccups. Its running excellent as a daily driver! Battery life is very impressive and everything seems to work well other than bluetooth pairing.

Edit: realized that new build fixes bluetooth pairing.

Edit2: Few bugs noticed so far -

1. Wifi that uses channel 13 and above is not recognized by device.
2. Magnetic flip cover doesn't interact with device (turn off and on screen)

New update released with the following changes:
    - May security patch
    - The kernel is now built with Clang 14
    - Added the option to reboot to fastbootd from the advanced reboot menu

From now, in the same folder of the ROM packages you will find a file called recovery-..., which contains the latest recovery (and vbmeta). You can flash that file for flashing boot recovery and vbmeta at the same time.

OTA is available for existing users.

    Somebody knows?

Is it possible to install the apk Samsung Notes again somehow? (on this LineageOS)

I tried many versions from https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/samsung-electronics-co-ltd/samsung-notes/

When trying to install the apk:

"App not installed as app isn't compatible with your phone."

Why is it not compatible? I also liked the design a little bit more on stock, with the resizing of windows.

And on stock you were able to put (via drag and drop on icon) three different apps at once.

Here at lineage I can only splitscreen, two apps maximum. And no resizing height and width, only width.

And, while in landscape mode, the keyboard takes HALF OF THE SCREEN, I don't think that was the case at stock (tried to install Samsung Keyboard apk again but no success either)

But most importantly the S Pen tools, and feature like when screen is of: tapping with the pen 2 times on display (while pressing button on pen) wakes devices up in a dark mode, to easily write down notes.

I thought it would be easy to just reinstall the apks (before flashing to LineageOS I extracted them from stock so I can install them again later, or so I thought).

But, as I wrote above, it says "App not installed as app isn't compatible with your phone." when trying to install most of them.
That's because Samsung is not stupid, they don't want just anybody using their propriatery apps that they want to have exclusively for the people running their stock ROMs, otherwise everybody would be using it. So your device, altho made by Samsung, is not compatible since you are running custom ROM. It's a bummer for me too since I really like their S Note app.

There are no real solutions for this, only to find some other Note taking app. There are plenty but I found none of them to actually match the Samsung's app. A while ago there was a S note app on FDroid. I have a vague memory of it being a paid app and it could only create one page per notebook or something like that. Unsure, it was quite a long time ago. Then a while ago I found a Telegram link (i think it was) to a ported S Note app in the Galaxy Note 10+ forums. I believe it was some of the LOS threads, so you can look there. I used it and found it to be hit and miss, worked only on one of my devices, I think it was running on Pie.

New update is available with the following changelog:
    - Rebased the kernel on top of Linux 4.14.314
    - Added ExFAT support
    - Fixed in-call audio (only relevant to LTE model users)
    - Fixed an audio timeout that could cause minor audio delays

OTA is available for the existing users
    Download it at https://files.danielml.dev/android/gta4xlveu/lineage-20.0/

Can someone please test this? I currently have the version from April 29th installed. Before the installation, it worked perfectly ...

Also on the 29 Apr version, on different S6 Lites actually, Location works on both. Tried GPS Test, it got a lock pretty quickly. Also tried Google Maps, which also works fine.

I'd give it a try. If its still broken after clean flashing you can send me a log so that I can take a look.
I've installed the original Samsung software twice and afterwards each time reinstalled Lineage again. After the second try, everything works fine. I still have no idea - but it works.
@daniml3 : Thank you for your incredible support!!

    Disclaimer:
I'm not responsible of any damage made to your device by installing this ROM

Following the installation process will trip Knox, thus your device warranty may be void.

    What's working?
    - Audio
    - Bluetooth
    - LTE
    - Display
    - WiFi
    - Charging
    - Location
    - Encryption
    - Camera
    - S-pen
    - Enforcing SELinux

    What's not working?
    - You tell me

    Installation instructions

    Installation requirements
    - A computer
    - ADB installed on the computer, you can find a guide here
    - Odin (v3.14.1 is verified to work fine), you can find it here
    - A decent battery level on the device

Step 1 - Unlocking the bootloader
You may skip this section if you have already unlocked your device

    - Enable developer options
    - In developer options, toggle the "Allow OEM unlocking" setting
    - Reboot into download mode following the instructions below
    - Once into download, long press the volume up button and follow the instructions on the screen
    - After the bootloader is unlocked, your data will be erased, so make sure to back it up first.
    - Now, once the system has finished booting, you MUST connect to a WiFi network, enable developer options again, and make sure that the OEM unlocking toggle is on and grayed out. If you do not see the toggle on the developer settings, close the settings and try again a few times.
    - Once you see the toggle greyed out, all is set.

Step 2 - Installing the LineageOS recovery
In order to flash the ROM, you need a custom recovery, which you can find on the downloads section.
    For installing the recovery:
    - Boot into download mode as described below
    - Press the volume up button a single time to fully enter download mode
    - Connect your device to your computer
    - Once you are in download mode, open Odin and make sure that it detects your device
    - Go to options on Odin, and disable auto-reboot (DO NOT ENABLE ANY OPTIONS OTHER THAN F. Reset Time and Auto-Reboot)
    - Download the vbmeta.tar file from the downloads section
    - Select on the "Ap" button the vbmeta.tar file and then click "Start"
    - Download the recovery.tar file from the downloads section
    - Select on the "Ap" button the recovery.tar file and then click "Start"
If Odin gets stuck (specially when flashing recovery.tar), you might try the following:
    - After you flash vbmeta, reboot into download again, and directly flash the recovery (once you have flashed the vbmeta once you shouldn't need to flash it again)
    - Try a different PC or USB cable
    - Try a different version of Odin
    - Once the flashing completes, power off your device by pressing power + volume down, and after the screen turns off, quickly press the key combination for booting into recovery
    - If everything went fine, you should be now on the LineageOS recovery
Warning: if you boot into the OneUI again, it will overwrite the custom recovery and you'll need to install it again!

Step 3 - Installing the ROM
    - Download the ROM from the downloads section
(make sure you download the .zip file and not the .sha256sum file)
    - Once in recovery, go to the "Apply update" section, and click "ADB sideload"
    - Connect your device to the computer, and sideload the update with adb sideload path/to/file

An example of the command on Windows can be adb sideload C:\Users\myuser\Downloads\lineage-20.0-20230223-unofficial-gta4xlveu.zip
    - Your device should start verifying and installing the update
    - After the installation has finished, you need to format the data partition (Factory reset -> Format data/factory reset)
    - Now, click "Reboot to system"
    - If everything went correctly, you should be booting LineageOS

How to boot into recovery/download modes:

    Download
    - For booting into download, you will have to press at the same time the power and the two volume buttons until the "Download" screen shows up.
    - If you want to boot into download with the device powered on, you have to press the reboot option and right after that, press the key combination as mentioned above.

    Recovery
    - First, make sure to connect the device to a computer, otherwise the tablet won't allow you to boot into recovery (it's a Samsung restriction).
    - For booting into recovery, just press the power and volume up buttons. Once the Samsung logo / bootloader unlocked warning has appeared, you can release the buttons and press the power button to skip the warning screen.
    - Just like with the download mode, if you want to boot into recovery with the device powered on you just have to press the keys right after pressing the reboot button.

A new update for the SM-P613 (gta4xlvewifi) was published just now with the following changes:
    - Enforcing SELinux
    - Removed GMS by default (you can install them as a separate package, personally BitGapps worked perfectly)
    - Fixed some background services crashing

    Download it at https://sourceforge.net/projects/gta4xlve-dev/files/gta4xlvewifi/lineage-20.0/
Warning: If you used GMS, you'll need to manually install them (I use BitGapps and they work correctly).

Today (if everything goes as planned) I'll publish a new update for the WiFi-only model, including:
    - Enforcing SELinux
    - Removed GMS by default (you can install them as a separate package, personally BitGapps worked perfectly)
    - Fixed some background services crashing

This will probably be the last update in a (few) week(s), as I'm working on an source-built-vendor device tree, which may take some time.

I'm also working on a build for the LTE variant, which will be published as soon as I verify that it works correctly.
