The kitkat branch didn't get any special love for mounting in half a decade...
So I would definitively say this happens smoothly because emulated storage here is pretty phony one. As I was complaining in the LOS16 thread, you still get to keep around all partitions which are still mounted even in the latest fstab.

If you have repartitioned though, you can pretty much expect /sdcard to be practically useless being just a bunch of megabytes big.

Getting a webview crash on my Galaxy S2

Hey, I've got this ROM running on my phone, and so far it's been good, aside from the Camera app crashing after a video recording finishes.

Since attempting to use Steam however, it always crashes on start.
Using adb logcat shows the source as being libskia.so and libwebviewchromium.so, both located in /system/lib:

Code:

I then tried a webview tester application and was able to reliably reproduce the same crash by loading Google.com through it. Given I did install the webview-fix.zip to correct video playback, could this be why webview appears broken on my phone?

Using latest GApps nano from OpenGApps.org (was using the version suggested in the OP and upgraded to see if it make a difference, it doesn't)
TWRP 3.1.0-0

I didn't install the fix mentioned above and recording works for me.
I feel you misread my post; it's the webview crash I'm more concerned about since it's affecting anything using the system webview implementation.
Short of wiping /system and reflashing it to preserve my installed apps, idk what to do.

(Video recording isn't too much of a concern since I don't take videos an awful lot)

Also forgot to mention this is an Australian previously Optus-provided i9100T, not sure if the hardware is any different outside of the Chipset being the same.

Thought I'd post an update; wiping /system, /cache and Dalvik then reflashing the ROM and Gapps fixed it, webview apps load now. Something with the video playback fix was seriously broken on my phone lol

Hi
Please it is possible to help me ?
Couple of month ago I use your firmware but it was my idiot idea and I moved to another firmware :(
After I saw are not working properly I try to come back to yours 11-4.4.
When I change to 15 and 16 I need to change PIT.
Now I can not install anymore your 11-4.4 firmware. After installing firmware and pico Gapps I receive " Unfortunately, Setup Wizzard has stopped " !!!
Please look attachments and maybe you understand what is wrong with this. And charging info are different. Are in green color not on white !
Please give some idea ( step by step ) how to return back. What PIT do I need to install ?
I use this phone for back-up calls, text messages and use some times iGo GPS software.
Thank you in advance
Mike

I am sorry to ask for the solution, I feel confused.
If I shutdown my S2 i9100 , it unfortunately still eats the accu (a new one).
I came from nougat and just installed clean (not dirty, didnt changed the PIT, no additional apps) your kitkat rom.

Yes, within nougat last month the drain begun. I hoped with a clean 4.4 it would be solved.

Ok, I didnt choosed the long way installation via stock rom. .

Thank you for your help

Best regards

I am sorry to ask for the solution, I feel confused.
If I shutdown my S2 i9100 , it unfortunately still eats the accu (a new one).
I came from nougat and just installed clean (not dirty, didnt changed the PIT, no additional apps) your kitkat rom.

Yes, within nougat last month the drain begun. I hoped with a clean 4.4 it would be solved.

Ok, I didnt choosed the long way installation via stock rom. .

Thank you for your help

Best regards

Perhaps this may help you:
cm11 has a strange "fake drain battery after reboot" bug.
Even a full battery will be shown as heavily drained after a reboot.
Over time the battery level will go up to its real value.

This ROM has great practical application because it runs despite Emulated Storage.

Thanks to Triangle Away, I removed the annoying exclamation mark that appeared on my S2 after repartitioning and using Emulated Storage.
Triangle Away does not work with root from magisk, so the only way to run it and get rid of the triangle is to go back to the original partition, which is time consuming.

Using Triangle Away on LineageOS 11 is easy and effective.

@grzwolf, thanks a ton for this. Keeping my old faithful running nicely :)

I'm thinking of doing the same thing for i9305... I'm familiar with building Lineage, are you doing anything special to integrated the ASB patches or just a standard build? Thanks again!

It is more or less a standard build.
But before doing this, a few enthusiast and I are backporting the monthly ASB patches (if possible) into the LineageOS cm-11.0 repositories.

    i9100 LineageOS 11.0 - ABANDONED

LineageOS (as well as CM did until December 2016) still maintains the cm11.0 / 4.4.4 sources to keep pace with 'The Android Security Bulletin' (ASB).
    https://source.android.com/security/bulletin/index.html.
Patches for CVE security issues are released at least once a month to the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) repository.
Patches for Android 4.4.4 are not provided by ASB anymore.
This means, security wise Android 4.4.4 is formally dead.
Nevertheless there are a few enthusiasts, still backporting security patches from recent Android versions to 4.4.4.
You should know, such backports are no formal ASB security patches.
Therefore the security patch level of this ROM is named: Unofficial Security Backport "December 2019".

Despite of implementing these security patches by the LineageOS team to its own repository https://github.com/LineageOS, LineageOS does not provide cm11 builds anymore.

Since I personally like 4.4.4. more than later versions, I build it myself unofficially and would like to share it.
The build is made from LineageOS "Branch: cm-11.0" PLUS ASB security patches, even if they are not yet approved by LineageOS.

The main goal of this ROM is to provide up to date builds in terms of ASB security patches, not development.

    Instructions:

    1.2 Phone
    * boot to BootLoader (hold: Vol-Down + Home + Power)

    Note
The stock browser is removed from this ROM due to severe security issues, which cannot get fixed.
Get a state of art browser (like firefox) from play store instead.

    Known Issues:
    xposed not supported
    1) A fix is provided by Lenny Bard, see instructions at post here.
    2) Fix by lee.wp14. See post https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=79618987&postcount=243.
