so once again what seems imposible in windows , gets done with ease in linux.
@clu1688 if you do not use linux there is a good alternative. I read a post on xda news and tried it out myself.
There is a virtual machine image you can use for working on your phone. It is called F.W.U.L. (forget windows use linux)
It is meant to be used as a live disk install.(temporary system) or it can be used in virtual box.

It has all the android tools you could need.

it did when i tried in Feb

its a live disk so you need to install each boot up, if i remember. I will boot it up now and look again

the program loads and opens. It excepts the scatter with mt6737. But I'm having trouble with handing off usb port from host to virtual machine before preloader timeout. and end up with phone going to charging screen instead of staying in preload mode.

Maybe is not used in virtual box but used as real live cd.

From above discussions, I feel it is better I simply install a version of Linux on my old small netbook,
@mrmazak and @vampirefo, can you guys recommend a Linux version? I hope it is some kind of simple version just enough to do this kind of work.

Thanks,

Thanks,
I'm not a regular Linux user. I don't have recommended build.

But I think I found a work around for using flash tool on windows , even though it has error about chip type. I have not tested it out myself yet, so bear with me.
There is a file in the flash tool program folder. The folder that was unzipped from the download. The file is "option.ini".

I think there is a hack where you can tell it to ignore chip the error.

When I get back to my PC I will look again and try it.
nevermind. I was thinking about "multi port flash tool"
I have not been able to use that tool, so never mind.

@mrmazak, thank you very much for helping along. :) We need more folks like you on XDA.
@vampirefo, could you recommend a linux distribution for me? I have MSI Wind U100, a mini netbook from some years ago, I can convert it to Linux machine. Could you also give advice on how to proceed in a Linux machine, such as, software packages, drivers, etc. Thanks in advance,

Edit, did some research on Linux and my netbook, it seems MINT v14 MATE edition would be a good version to use?

Any version would be fine, I use Ubuntu Mate, cause I like old style, I have used Linux since 2003, It's looks has changed, but Mate makes the desktop look like it did back then.

Mint is green Ubuntu.

Looks like stock rom, got a small security update, when I get time will look it over and see if anything in the update helps on this rom.

I switched to stock rom, to be able to install the OTA upgrade.

I keep trying to catch the update too, but I allways get "your device is up to date"

This is just my own speculation, but based on some recent "reports" of blu still using Adups for there fota and Adups being accused of over collecting data from users devices. Add to that an un-confrimed statement that BLU is going to switch away from Aduosfota and move toward GoogleFota. Then the recent update to R1-HD, some have claimed that there AdupdFota.akp was renamed to apk_ on its own, perhaps this update is intended to dissable the Adupsfota ?

edit:

wrong thread

I removed the /system/app/nfc folder (lineageos 13 rom) and of course that removed the nfc apk. Now battery life has almost trippled. This phone from stock says it does not have nfc anyway.
That would make sense as to why the logcat is flooded with nfc-service-crash and restart messages.

I have ordered a Blu life one X2 mini, so I won't be updating this rom, I had planned on doing a new build this month with all the current security updates, but decided not to, I plan on working on roms, TWRP and so forth for my new phone.

Thank you for your work on these ROMs though. Helped us R1HD guys out a lot as well! Good luck with the new phone
