I think the rom is OK Nothing much that can be fixed.

It's the Game developers who are making the games unnecessarily heavy on RAM and processor.

I'm not sure how old you are but we've been around for a while and we still remember the first series of supercomputers from the 1989 era, like Cray-2 that was delivered with 2 gigabytes of RAM which was considered massive at the time.

Our Yuga with 2 GB RAM is actually something unheard of not so long ago..

The first computers that put people on moon and brought them back had less processing power than your pocket calculator and people could only dream of having XPERIA Z's amazing RAM and CPU power..

Right , If we jump back few generations our Xperia Z could have run the entire Apollo program assuming we connected it to a proper antenna.

That's to put things in perspective... It's never the OS (operating system) or the available RAM ..

It's the piss poor coding and lazy , substandard programmers who can't be arsed to code the game properly that create problems starting with overheating phones and laggy games.

You need to voice your concern to the Game Developers.

in this rom are smooth but game are to slow for this rom. can you please fix this ? like mc5 game :):):):)

No Root for the apps

Yeah, there's no root for the apps.

This will render useless half of the apps I am using.. Apps like SDMaid ,AFWall+

Is there a reason for blocking the access to the root ?

I am on a clean install with all the proper wiping done.

Kind Regards

EDIT: Looks like @Chippa_a needs to apply " export WITH_SU=true " if he wants to enable the built in root?
I did notice that some people were referring to the fact that Developers that want SU by default can export. WITH_SU=true to their environment.

Or maybe he did, but something went wrong?

Yes, Lineage builds have no root by default now.

Either the developer sets it when making a build or a root zip must be flashed after flashing the rom. Lineage is supposed to release the root zip as well, when official builds go live, which was supposed to happen this weekend.

Edit : Has anybody tried to flash supersu after flashing the rom, for instance ? In theory it should work ?

We will NOT be shipping root baked into the ROM.
- Root will be a downloadable zip based install similar to gapps installation (only need to flash it once).
- Home builders that want to bake su back into the ROM can use the command ‘export WITH_SU=true’ prior to building.
It has been said that is to allow apps that don't work with root to work and also increase security by default, while also allowing root for apps for those that know what they are doing.

And i still have absolutly no idea why they decided to do that.... anyone knows?
On other devices flashing SuperSU.zip works perfectly fine.

I'll flash this latest build and try SuperSU in a little while, will report back. No reason why it shouldn't work.

There was talk from several developers even a couple of years back of disabling root as default for CM. In fact it was disabled but present in recent builds ( switch in Developer Options ), but I guess they finally went with removing it completely and needing an additional zip to flash to get it. Anyway...

You know, needing an additional zip to flash might be a good idea as long as we can get an MD5 for it and can be sure that the SU is legit.
But if you ask me , this will complicate the things further...

Yes. Also, a Lineage root zip is guaranteed to work on Lineage builds, but SuperSU or any other method is not, methods by independent developers not affiliated with Lineage may or may not work. SuperSU in fact has not always worked.

Right now, latest SuperSU beta seems to work fine on this build, just tested. So for now, happy flashing.

Edit : Not a fan of SuperSU myself. It works though. But I hope Chippa_a turns su on for this build, or the su zip from Lineage is available soon...

Edit 2 : I can't give root with SuperSU to some applications that had it with the integrated root before. This is annoying indeed.
