I'm in without issues yet, the basics are working as expected. Have not even tried the stock ROM, after unboxing, I unlocked the bootloader straight away and installed everything without hesitation, so I can't say if its better than stock Nougat.
Yener has already informed you that the target group of this rom are people with the device who are disappointed by Lenovo's update policy and are looking for a way out. Since you don't belong in the target group and enjoy the free aftermarket firmware, I hope you make an appropriate donation to the developer. I mean, you paid Lenovo for software you didn't use. A bit ironic, isn't it?

By the way @yener90 I have a question: what hindered you of going straightly to LOS 16?
The device that served as the basis for this rom has no lineage 16.

I hope you make an appropriate donation to the developer.
I would love to make a donation to both you and to yener for your work that has brought life to an excellent piece of hardware that has gone unsupported by the manufacturer.

Unfortunately, the only donation option that I can find in XDA is buying ad-free, which seems is supporting XDA (also worthwhile) more than it supports either of you individually.

The OP has no link to do so, and I couldn't find one in your 14.1 thread either.

I'm very grateful for your work, and I would like to make a small donation. I thought it would be more polite, and more useful to the community, to ask in the public forum rather than by dm.

Thanks again

i switched now my two tablets completly to this rom, great work. One was running stock and the other one was on LumenReapers version. Really awesome what you did @yener90, also big thanks to @LumenReaper.

Do you think dirty flash will work if you release a new version? Did anyone try it from the initial release to the second one?

By the way, regarding the gapps(pico)/magisk topic, i installed all together in one batch right after LOS in twrp, cleaned cache and it worked.

The only thing was that i had to install the magisk manager afterwards. If i remember correctly previously on stock the magisk manager appeared after installing magisk automatically. Just if someone is confused and thinks rooting did not work or so...

Thanks yener, you rock. Installed and everything works great, better than stock already. Not really missing camera but it's nice that's getting fixed.

Would you please add a donation method? I bet there are people here who would gladly buy you a beer.

I find it impertinent that you don't even take a stand of the upper part of my post.
This is completely obnoxious in your behalf.

I mean, you paid Lenovo for software you didn't use. A bit ironic, isn't it?
Could I choose not to pay for the software other than not simply buying this tablet? "Lenovo, please sell me the tablet without the Android part, I want to purchase other's ROM." This is not how things work.

I think you have completely lost the point of what Open Source means. You seem to be one of those guys that donates blood and suggests a little donation afterwards?
You may (or not) have probably used for one site of yours WordPress, which I have been helping on code for the past decade, and it never crossed my mind to ask for a donation for myself or any of my fellows. Not even, a donation for the whole project. Check the wordpress "get involved site": https://make.wordpress.org/. No donations asked.

Worst part is that this makes the whole thread offtopic, this is why I completely ignored your comment before you became displeasing.

Community is built by help in different areas of their users. From testing, to friendly support, to code improvements. Donations are fine for those, like you, that seem to be looking for some kind of profit hideously. Shame on you.

And please, don't feel bad if I don't answer you more in this topic because this is deriving harshly off topic for the real point of the thread: support for this great LOS port.
I'm even fine if a moderator removes this offtopic comment, because re-reading it I find its as annoying as yours and I still don't know why I'm writing it.

Do you know what, I'm finding myself largely in agreement with @MiSSigNNo and I'll tell you why.

Many years ago, back in the days of the Commodore Vic/C64/Amiga I taught myself Assembly/machine code on these machines and spent literally countless hours writing many utilities for the good and advancement of its user base. Certainly not for monitory reward.

Reward came in completing what were often thought of "impossible" programs and slick routines. These I distributed via clubs and then new "Bulliten Boards" that were springing up and hosted by enthusiasts and fellow "coders". We NEVER looked for payment, recognition and appreciation were all we wanted.

I always thought (maybe naively ) that XDA with its many developers and smart coders would be the same. It was initially but unfortunately I see a change creeping in and believe me , it is not for the better. As more and more people look for "donations" it will stifle the hobbyist, who may well be a brilliant coder, from sharing his or hers experience and ideas.
This, by my way of thinking, is not what "Open Source" and its derivations was set up for.

Just my tuppence worth.

Could you please stop about donations discussions?
Lumen just said it, because MiSSigNNo supported Lenovo. This project was completely against Lenovo.
My project target was to back up of lacking Lenovo support. My motivation was all the hate against Lenovo.
Now people like @MiSSigNNo comming and supporting them just because of this project.
I'm sure Lumen feels the same. Now because of this Lenovo got more money now.

Nobody wanted any donations. If someone like to support my work, he can do it that way.
My target was no profit, just giving a smile to people who really got dissapointed from Lenovo.

Well said @yener90 and apologies if I misunderstood re: wanting donations.

Now back to topic, is the latest link in the OP to your ROM the link to the version where the camera works, please?

TIA.

Yener, please forgive me one last post on this so that no one like Sparkrite get a false picture of me.

I appreciate your work on WordPress and your link says that we share the same idea of Open Source. This website is for developers, of course there is nothing about donations. Because, like you, I value contributing code more than money. But you will agree with me that WordPress.org is not free of the term "donation", because they have to live from something.

Donations are fine for those, like you, that seem to be looking for some kind of profit hideously. Shame on you.
This is just wrong. First of all, I didn't ask for myself, I would never do that. In addition rorzer offered Yener and me a donation before I wrote the post you criticized and I will not include a donation link in my profile and I will not accept the donation because I developed LOS 14.1 primarily for my own use. I had no disadvantage by the publication, quite the opposite: Yener has joined in and now I use his rom. So I have already benefited from the publication of my work, so why should I ask for donations? That doesn't make any sense and also contradicts my values.

Even if I agree with you that my posts and your post are off topic, I think it should stay so it doesn't distort the situation. I won't go into it any further, this is my last post just to make it clear that your picture about me just isn't right. Yener recognized this better, because we already exchanged some more messages.

If one would delete everything which is in the wrong thread, one would probably have to delete half the TWRP thread.

Thanks, you got me right.

To contribute something to the rom:

Does the LED change to green when the tablet is full? Normally this already happens at 90%. This is not the case for me.

@max_work: Have the same problems with Magisk. The app is not installed by flashing the Zip. Root doesn't work for me after the installation of the app either. Interestingly, some apps think they can recognize Magisk. I will deal with it again on the weekend and try to patch the image.

Edit: @yener90: you should add
"PRODUCT_CHARACTERISTICS := tablet" to the lineage.mk again. Furthermore check my overly directory. You may can use some parts.

@yener90
You switched to landscape orientation by default. Is it normal, that the notification bar is so narrow that it would fit portrait orientation as well in LineageOS? The stock notification bar was much wider and I kinda miss it (just kidding, I wouldn't go there ever again!).
Thanks for response.

Ok, after some clarifications, time to go back.

I've been trying to port some ROMs for other devices without success in the last few years.
For some reason I can't seem to find good docs to understand at least the basics of ROM modding. I was thinking of the possibility of "treblezing" this tablet. The only solution I tried was by reverse engineering devices trees of other devices comparing to source.... but I found after some days of trying, that this might have taken ages to grasp a little of knowledge.
Any recommendations to start reading for the cause? (maybe I could set a target to solve the issue with the hall sensor)

Is it possible to use an SD card as extended storage on this ROM?
For some strange reason I inserted a 256Gb card and it shows that I have 512Gb available and 256Gb left. Apart from this, it works fine.

Ok, idk what I'm doing wrong but my device won't boot. I'm stuck at boot animation. (It's not bootlooping)

What I've done so far:
Wiped data using the "yes" option, as instructed by OP
Installed the new TWRP using the old one
Flashed the rom and gapps (stock package)
Left my device boot up at least 15 minutes (just in case). It didn't, though.

Then, I saw someone say to do a full wipe (system, data, etc) before installation.
That time, I didn't even flash gapps to see if that was the problem
Stuck at boot animation again.

I've tried at least 10 times now and i really don't know what I'm doing wrong.

(i have the x704f ofc, and it was on stock rom rooted with magisk)

Ok, not familiar with the 704x version of this tablet, not sure it even exists .

If you mean the TB-8704X then no wonder its not booting as the ROM is not designed for that tablet.

Perhaps you might clarify what model tablet you actually have, please?

TIA.
