I received my Mi Pad 4 yesterday (Wifi). Funny enough it was already Unlocked, which is a bit alarming, but the good news is I don't need to wait for the 360+ hours. I changed the recovery and loaded this ROM, which is running pretty smooth and has the best (and only) vanilla Android look-and-feel to it.

I never heard about the Mokee ROM before, although it seems it has been around for quite some time. Anyone ever did some test if no strange connections are being setup on the back-end?

Traders in China are unlocking tablet for you in order to put multi-language ROM's. No need to worry, just reset to factory defaults before using tablet and all is good.

Question: do you guys go to developer settings and bind your device to your miui.com account "Additionnal > Developer Options > Mi Unlock Status > Add accound and device"?

have just ordered a mi pad 4 from aliexpress and i'm really hoping that it comes with mokee installed. if it doesn't and the installed MIUI is greater than 9.6.6,
(1) am i stuck with that rom, apart from upgrading to version 10? and
(2) if mokee is installed, can i install MIUI 10 and then roll back to mokee if i want? or
(3) does ANY later version of MIUI beyond 9.6.6 prevent roll back/installation of 3rd party ROMs?
(4) one more.. also, is anyone running the latest version MK81.0-clover-201809171334-UNOFFICIAL.zip, has the double tap to wake and magnetic wake been fixed?

sorry for the newbish questions, been out of the loop on flashing for a long time!!
many thanks

I suggest you flash MIUI development version before you flash the Mokee. There is no problem change your rom between MIUI and Mokee. Actually, if you can't, you can use official mi-flash tool.
As we know, the kernel is not open source yet, so double tap to wake and magnetic wake can't be fixed until it is opened.

Thanks for the reply. Forgive my lack of knowledge, I've been over to miuieu.com but can't see any developer rom, where would I find it? Is a developer rom just any beta ie the current EU ROM posted here? Sorry, it's just I don't want to mess this up!! Thanks

Yes - GSI Treble
I really wanna try RR on this device, which version should I dl, arm64aonly or A/B devices?

Edit: so I don't actually have the device yet, its being shipped at the mo. I've found that I can use the app 'treble check' to see which version I need. So the only question is... Is it stable as a daily driver?

Cheers

Chinese version has developer rom, but I don't know whether your device could flash it. You can try it.

Just for the info: Xiaomi.eu is based on the chinese ROM, but has less bloatware and translations... Not that some people start to think that "EU ROM = GLOBAL ROM" or something. Currently Xiaomi has no plans for GLOBAL ROM for the Mi Pad4.

Developer and development ROM are different things. Everyone can download and flash development ROM. It's a version of ROMs. Maybe only Chinese version has development version, but you can flash it. EU version and Chinese version are only different in apps and languages.

Guys, would some of you help me with this silly question - i have a mi pad 4 with MIUI Global 9.6.7.0 (ODJCNFD), which also came with an unlocked bootloader. Will it be possible to install this Mokee rom on it? I'm asking because the OT specifically said that the version of MIUI should be 9.6.6 or below and some other users in this thread claimed that if the MIUI version is above 9.6.6 (as is in my case), there will be no problem flashing the Mokee rom? So, i'm a little bit confused and i don't want to brick the device. Any help will be kindly appreciated!

You have no globla, as there is not an existing global ROM for the Pad. You have a "faked ROM" from a shop (aliexpress, whatever).

But I dont know if you have any problems installing Mokee.. Xiaomi.eu should be working fine.

Hi people I have some doubts. MIPad 4 has a higher version than MIUI 9.6.6. Can I roll back in MIUI by installing a version inferior to 9.6.6? Is there a problem with ARB in MIPAD? Is it better to install a developer version? Which one should I install? Thank you

It's better to install a developer version.
