Hi there, it's been quite sometime since I last posted.

After thorough considerations, I've decided not to publicly release LOS17/Android 10 for n7000. It is due to poor graphical performance that for the time being, I have no way to workaround this other than overclocking the device. In Android 10, we have to use triple buffering, so the graphical load increases, plus we have 720p display.

I will however, upload android10 builds alongside where I upload LOS16. You can flash if you feel to.
In short, for N7000 Android 10 builds, no xda thread, no support, no release, no discussion. Use at your own risk.

For LOS16, I will continue provide update, but for now not because my Android 10 work took the whole harddrive partition space already.
Also, I plan to rework all LOS16 device sources thus, will take some time. Thank you for your patience.

Stay safe at home, have a nice day!

You just won't let this device die won't you?

Haha xD I did say.. sort of :)
Well, apart from my bootloader-locked japanese Xperia Z5, the only phone I can work on this kind of thing is N7000, and I'm using it as my second phone.

It's just what I like to do, android development. And I'm still in the process of learning.

Furthermore, our little brother Galaxy S2 has active development going on, I think we should take advantage of this, since N7000 and I9100 has nearly identical hardware. It would be a waste for N7000 not to follow the development progress of I9100.

I wonder how is bauner doing right now. I'm really still a beginner learning stuffs, seriously :(

Don't underestimate yourself @lee.wp14. You have done a really wonderful job by bringing stable 9 Pie to N7000. It would be great though, if @bauner could also help one last time and develop stable 10 rom as a farewell to this legendary device!

Build 20200614

Greetings folks. Here is a new build! I think you all will like this one.

CHANGELOG
- general: upstream updates, ASB 2020-06-05
- device: merge lineage-17.1 changes
- device: remove PowerHAL
- hardware: default video buffer size to 1080p
- kernel: mali400 reconfiguration, use 133Mhz, 160MHz, 266MHz.
- kernel: lock mali to 160MHz during 1080p playback
- kernel: disable CPU hotplug
- kernel: use interactive CPU governor
- kernel: use 500MHz as base CPU frequency
- kernel: reconfigure thermal throttling, refer commit
- kernel: add TriangleAway support, refer commit
- kernel: remove a whole big bunch of logging that your grandpa never check on it

On the technical side, this build is based on complete new sources forked from @rINanDO's.
There were some major changes to GPU and CPU, including throttle configuration. Please let me know if there is any power or performance degradation/issue.
Functionality and features on both hardware and software side should be identical to previous builds.

School starts tomorrow, just in time to release this build. Have a nice day ahead!

OMG! Thank you so much for your continued support to this device.

Wish you all the best in school, and hope to hear from you again when you're free.

One more thing, I just saw that this build has magisk support. What about the standard Lineage root? Is it still available?

Hi Gold Mix! Thanks for your reply.
Yes, it could be two options of rooting:
1. Systemless root (Magisk): flash boot_magisk.img after flash zip
2. Traditional system root (Lineage SU): flash addonsu after flash zip

I haven't try out f2fs, I have been using ext4 since then.
[email protected] has a lot of f2fs and other fs commits… i might create a new branch and bringover his f2fs commits. But for the time being I'm still monitoring/testing kernel changes. I've bringover los17 commits to our los16 trees. Also now due to the corona… college stuffs has been a huge mess now
As always, you all can see my github for my progress :)

Does f2fs has any improvements over ext4 when you use it on n7000?
I haven't done any benchmarks (synthetic or real world) and haven't felt a difference with the *short* usage I had. Being heavily CPU and GPU limited in many tasks makes any eventual I/O perf change less significant.

Found my Galaxy Note again, but it wasn't turning on any more. Bought a new replacement battery for €4 and now it's up and running, in 2020, with this rom! It's simply amazing. Thanks a lot!

Battery drains so fast when wifi is on even in standby mode. Anyone else is facing this problem.

Yes, it seems normal since oreo... can't be sure if it's the same as i9100 since there's actually a wifi drain fix. (echo 1 to /data/.psm.info)

If you turn on wifi, will definitely drain out in within one day. The phone did deep sleep but... yes when wifi is turned on something is draining the battery.
TBH, this is really annoying to me too. In fact I'm quite annoyed by the wifi problems we have now, like ipv6 not working and this battery drain issue.

It is already 1 in .psm.info file but battery still drains fast when wifi is on :(.

TBH, i don't see a difference on my side regardless of the value set. I checked, the driver did pickup the value and configure the PM in driver...

I'm really not sure what's wrong, since the fix is not made by me, can't sure how the fix should work unless i got an S2 to compare side by side.

Maybe in a later time I will look into this also.

So my daily driver Xperia Z5 has its touchscreen become semi-malfunctioned, I have no choice but to use Note 1 as my daily driver again.
For my personal note.

- add external fstab link (check whether invalid swap mount is ok)
- check bcmdhd dhd_set_suspend
- colourfade fix for non-lowram config
- make ambient display stay longer
- maybe... lower the audio gain slightly a bit, maximum volume for speaker seems a bit too loud
- consider bring back Lineage Wallpaper App or change default launcher to Lawnchair
- if RIL keep crashing, revert the RIL timeout hack (confirmed 20/07, please fix!)
- check cpu governor... interactive sometimes sluggish start when wake from idle
- maybe can default turn off button backlight and bluetooth on first start, and also mobile data
- consider revert camera driver changes... the first shot is always horrible and not usable

We need Lineage 15 8.1.0 to be finished. If @bauner is out (maybe Corona took him away), we should contact @rINanDO so he could do it - maybe click on his ads or whatever monetization he has in mind, because he and others on that S2 forum will make Android 11 too! @lee.wp14

Did you by any chance allowed TWRP to install the TWRP app?

hi, thanks for reply.
Yes!! I did this mistake on 1st install, then i read your reply to someone that we don't have to, so i wipe everything and repeated all steps again, but the problem still happening!!

Can you place the logcat99 file in /system/etc/init.d? Then reboot, wait for about 5 minutes then reboot recovery and attach here the file /data/local/logcat.txt
