Sorry to interrupt,but I am in the same case. Firstly,it showed this:
"assert failed (run_program("/sbin/sh", "/system/bin/releasetools.hi6250.sh") == 0);"
Then I deleted it. But the second erro showed ,which is "Failed to mount'/system'(invalid argument)"
My TWRP is "twrp_honor9_lite_0.2_test.img",produced by "Pretoriano80",could you please tell how can I deal with it?

This rom still can not work,but another one (pie) can(not polite to release the link here,sorry),with the twrp "TheWonderGuy" gave to me,and based on LLD-31

TWRP for H9L only supports Android 8.0 and 8.1
Will it show errors if we use an Android 9 rom?

strangely i use h9l's twrp with this rom (and others too,PIE)
and it works, imma look to what u said and see again
edit : try to delete mount("ext4", "EMMC", "/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/system", "/system"); line and add it be4 the extract line without deleting the assert(run_program("/sbin/sh", "/system/bin/releasetools.hi6250.sh") == 0); line

I tried deleting the assert line, the mount line.
Will try what you told above too.
Both statix and cypher has errors like this.
Strangly this error is only with these two rooms.

Should I unpack the zip file? If so can I just make a zip archive and flash it or do I have to do anything else?

So how did you install them in The first place?
I even tried flashing through fastboot. Still no luck

dude i am saying i think it's just a prob with my roms, go to a dev called @Askuccio_DROID he has now a working pie rom with working hotspot
