I am experiencing exactly the same.problemHi, buddies
I had evaluated the latest ROM and found that the shutdown of device cannot be worked properly. Here is my observation:
1.Whenever I tried to shutdown the phone, it always reboot after several seconds.
2.In case of using adb for directly shutting down the phone, I got the different results:
2.1Using 'setprop sys.powerctl shutdown' command: The phone will be rebooted.
2.2Using 'reboot -p' command: The phone will shutdown. However the phone cannot be booted normally until the battery is replugged. In this case the battery-chargging UI will not be showed even if the phone is charging via USB powerline.
3.When I replugged the battery without phone boot, the battery-chargging UI will be normal when the phone is charging via USB powerline.
4.I had tried several Pie ROMs and it seems the symptom is common between ROMs.
It seems in case of shutting down the phone, the poweroff or battery chargging UI (if the phone is charging via USB powerline) cannot be done normally. Are there any ideas or solutions for such symptom ? Here is my environment:

I have the same problem but I never take out the battery - I just press the Power button until the Asus logo appears. Takes really long but way shorter than removing/reinstalling the batteryHI too, almost same experience with me..
