Hello yener90
Please can you update the LOS16 version (Security Patch).
The 16er version works fine, nothing is broken.
I use often the fingerprint, but she is no working on LOS17 - is not a option for me.

Thanks

yener90, thanx for you work.

Yestrday i flashed my Lenovo Tab4 10 Plus with LineageOS 16.0
There was one E1001 error during flashing lineage-16.0-20190812-UNOFFICIAL-TBX704.zip via TWRP 3.3.1-0, bit with the latest ROM (lineage-16.0-20200106_082920-UNOFFICIAL-TBX704.zip) everything went smooth.

Perfect ROM for very good tab.

Now i cannto understand how i live before with stock firmware.

Taking off my hat, sir!!!

Hey hey,
at first I'd like to thank you busy guys for developing this Rom. I rolled back this LOS16 from 17.1 because there are some points that I dont like at the current version of Android Q. The most important reason is the huge battery drain.

This built is very good. I dont have any issues with this. Performance is great, the battery lasts long time, fingerprint is working properly. Nothing to complain very stable and ready to use not only for testing.
With the right twrp recovery the dd+ is working easy.

But is it possible to update the safetypatch ?
I don't think the 17.1 is finalized.

Thank you in advance.

Hi! I have no idea what's going on. I have successfully uploaded LineageOS 16.0 and LineageOS 17.1 to my X704F several times. But now, after a new attempt to switch from the official rom, neither WiFi nor Bluethoot works for me. And with no Lineage firmware.
I do everything as described, but just wifi and BT do not work. I've read everything and tried Chinese twrp, but nothing helps. Thank you for any advice.
I can return to the official ROM without any problems. Lineage uploads without any problems, only 16 and 17.1 do not have functional WiFi and BT.

Have you gone back to stock and checked that they work OK?

For my TBX704F I had to flash latest twrp-3.3.1 from the first post to install the Rom and Magisk and in a second step I flashed twrp-3-2-3 (link posted some pages ago), flashed dd+ and after that I flashed twrp-3.3.1 again.

With twrp-3.3.1 it was not possible to install dd+ and
with twrp-3.2.3 my tablet does not boot.

Building from source

Hi,

Thanks for doing this, really appreciated.

Could you possibly just describe the high level steps required in order to build this specific combination of repos?

How do I build LineageOS and incorporate your device, kernel and vendor repos? I kind of expected you to have a custom repo manifest to bring it all together but I don't see that anywhere so i'm guessing I have to check out 'vanilla' Lineage and then manually checkout your repos and place them in the right place. (And probably add a new lunch target).

Cheers,
Dean

Building from source

Replying to my own query here...

I created my own repo manifest to try and bring together all of these repos: github .com / deano2390 / android (can't post links yet!)

See this commit for how I am trying to pull it all together: 901a1d621e1641c69b3c5d1c64eaa0f341c6936d

This basically pulls all of the Lenovo TB-X704 repos down and places them in the appropriate folders - i'm also referencing specific commits of when you last did a build. However I am somewhat guessing where these repos should be checked out to:

I'm doing the following:
lenovo-devs/android_device_lenovo_TBX704 into device/lenovo/TBX704
lenovo-devs/android_device_lenovo_tb-common into device/lenovo/tb-common
lenovo-devs/android_kernel_lenovo_msm8953 into vendor/lenovo

So I execute the following:

repo init -u {my git URL}-b lineage-16.0-TBX704
repo sync
source build/envsetup.sh
breakfast TBX704
export USE_CCACHE=1
export CCACHE_EXEC=/usr/bin/ccache
ccache -M 50G
export CCACHE_COMPRESS=1
croot
brunch TBX704

I get a successful build and it flashes ok but when it boots, I get the LineageOS bootanimation for a few minutes and then reboots back into TWRP.

Anyone have any tips for me here on how to diagnose it?
Appreciate any help.

What EXACTLY are you trying to achieve?

---------- Post added at 03:07 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:05 PM ----------

Is there a way to disable the phone capabilities on that ROM? I use it with an twin card and it rings all the time when I get a phone call on my mobile.

Well one way would be to remove the SIM or just turn on 'Airplane Mode' or even just silence ring tone and vibration if you want to leave the SIM in it.

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 9 (Pie), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review.

    What works:
    Wifi
    Bluetooth
    Audio
    LED
    USB
    RIL
    Encryption
    Fingerprint
    Camera
    Hall sensor
    DT2W
    Selinux Enforcing

    Broken
    nothing

    Source code:
    device: https://github.com/lenovo-devs/android_device_lenovo_TBX704
    device-common: https://github.com/lenovo-devs/android_device_lenovo_tb-common
    kernel: https://github.com/lenovo-devs/android_kernel_lenovo_msm8953
    vendor: https://github.com/lenovo-devs/proprietary_vendor_lenovo

    Important
If you are using this ROM first time, wipe data. Wipe data completely. I mean the option where you need to enter "yes". Use this option and then flash the rom.
This ROM only works with the TWRP I added.

If you want to use GAPPS, flash it directly after flashing ROM. Don't let the ROM boot. Otherwise your device will not get certification, so you will not have Google Access.

Instructions (thx @matshias, just changed few lines to get ROM flashing working)

    1. Put your ROM (and GApps) onto your sdcard (sdcard must be exfat or fat32, NTFS not supported)
    2. Install fastboot and adb on your PC, e.g. from here
    3. Enable developer options and in there select to unlock your bootloader by enabling OEM unlock and enable USB debugging
    4. Connect your PC to your tablet and run
      Code:
      adb reboot bootloader
using adb on command line. The tablet will reboot into bootloader mode where you will only see the Lenovo logo. Now you use
      Code:
      fastboot oem unlock-go
to unlock. This will factory reset your device
    5. Don't setup, cause you will need to format your tablet later again. Shutdown tablet. Hold volume up and power button to start to bootloader
    6. Then run
      Code:
      fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.2.3-0-<your-filename>.img
      to flash TWRP
    7. Select with volume buttons "Recovery Mode" and press power button
    8. Select to write to system, otherwise you can't flash ROM
    9. Backup at least system and boot partitions to your sdcard cause you will wipe data in next step. Choose "System Image" for the system partition backup.
    10. Format data using this tutorial
    11. Flash ROM
    12. Optionally flash SuperSU or Magisk in TWRP which should install system less. Keep OEM unlock enabled if you flash or modify anything
    13. Restart

    Mounting system rw
This is impossible on our tablet. The bootloader enforces verity check, which causes this issue.
The only possibility is to modify bootloader, what is dangerous and requires good knowledge.
there is a workaround using magisk with a mod. which mounts your system rw on mount:
