when I boot into your recovery, the files on the system are encrypted

Is there a fix for this? or am I doing something wrong?
My old recovery. You can use some recovery for joyeuse in forum or i will build new recovery

Thanks for the response.

I tried using the pitch black recovery, and for some reason it was the same for me. (Except it asked me to enter a password that I didn't have)

Couldn't you ask SebaUbuntu (https://forum.xda-developers.com/re.../rom-lineageos-17-1-redmi-note-9-pro-t4144561) about his sourcecode? He seems to not have enough time for maintenance. But his ROM got some advantages such as enforced. A merge with your project could probably result in LineageOS as a good daily driver, couldn't it? :)

Btw. did you add GBoard as a system app? I don't like Google so much and prefer the standard AOSP keyboard. If people wanted GBoard, they could install OpenGapps. Just my 2 cents. ;)

enforced in this time will brocken some bugs like as IR, Fastcharge, FM radio(?) or some others
in my build Selinux is permissive but you can use all features. Ok, i will change to AOSP keyboard but not in LineageOS.
Note: Uploading Derpfest and crDroid for you test

Enforcing is not a bad thing , and ir remote is already fixed but he did not update it in his Trees .

Thank you for your work providing us image
I found this one lineage-17.1-20200811-UNOFFICIAL-joyeuse.zip from you
at https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=8889791610682912539

do you have any documentation on how to install this image?
I extracted the zip and looked inside, but it's really unclear.
seems like I might need to transfer it to my phone and install it with a tool, what tool would that be?

I also tried flashing `pitchblack-recovery/TWRP/recovery.img` like this

```
$ time fastboot flash recovery ~/Downloads/twrp-9pro/pitchblack-recovery/TWRP/recovery.img
target reported max download size of 805306368 bytes
sending 'recovery' (131072 KB)...
OKAY [ 4.979s]
writing 'recovery'...
OKAY [ 0.568s]
finished. total time: 5.547s
real 0m5.594s
user 0m0.060s
sys 0m1.618s
```

but then how do I boot ?

thanks

After finished flash PB recovery, hold Power button and Volume + until boot (Mi logo show up). Wipe somethings and unmount data, vendor, system then flash my zip Lineage

Ok,

I discovered I could do `adb reboot bootloader` to go into fastboot instead of pressing the buttons for several seconds. I like that.
then I booted into pitchblack using `fastboot boot pitchblack/TWRP/recovery.img`

I transferred the lineage zip unto the device and select to use installed.

After unmounting the partitions, I could install the zip file using pitchblack UI.
that was one error about one partition not being found.
but it says the install was succesfull
so I rebooted. and now I am seeing a blue curved line that looks like Lineage boot splash
but it is stuck there.

what did I do wrong?

Ok formated my data, wipe more things
and got stuck as I couldn't recopy the image onto the device via MTP.

so I tried flashing from my computer command line

Code:
$ fastboot flash system ~/Downloads/lineage-17.1-20200811-UNOFFICIAL-joyeuse.zip
target reported max download size of 805306368 bytes

then

Code:
$ fastboot reboot

and for some magic reason, it worked, I'm on LineageOS
Thank you

Steps:
flash PB recovery
Copy my rom zip to sdcard
Wipe (data, cache,Dalvik0cache)
Unmount system, vendor, product partitions
Flash the rom zip (NOT extract or do something)
reboot to recovery and flash gapps
Reboot to system

Ok succesfully installed Lineage OS on my Xiaomi Note 9 Pro joyeuse phone.
now I am trying to get my partition encrypted. I am going into Settings -> Security -> Encrypt
after entering my pattern, screen goes black. after a couple of hours, I tried to hit the power bottom....
I thought I had bricked my phone, but after a 2nd reboot, it just told me I had lost my data, it did a factory reset, and I was back in LineageOS.
Setup my wifi again and gave it a second try.

its now running for 4 hours.
is that normal?

    LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 10, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

    LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

    All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

    Reporting Bugs

    DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
    Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
    If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
    If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log

    Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues. Any bug not reported in the bug report format below may be ignored.

    Hi all!
    Nice rom, thanks to devs!
    Does anybody know what about miracast in this rom? does it work or it's broken like on other GSI roms?

    Kindly on next build resize to bigger on system partition dinamic, so i can flash gapps full version thanks

    Does Xiaomi release kernel sources or blobs to make Lineage possible? I come from a Nexus 5 and then a Mi A1 so those devices had very good custom ROM support. In other words, is Lineage for the Redmi Note 9 Pro likely to get more stable over time and have everything working correctly or does it use workarounds/hacks which other phones don't need to use and so will always be (to some extent) buggy?
    Step and step we will fix all bugs
    Today i've just fixed Curtana kernel source to boot for joyeuse. Now i will try build vendor partition
