I'm back to Pulkit's vanilla build now. If I try Aryan's build again later, perhaps I'll try LineageOS recovery. It's been a long time since I've used it, but it seemed lacking.

My sense is that the insistance on LineageOS recovery is mostly for official support, and not any real technical limitation. If there were issues using a different recovery, that would be bad.

If there's some technical limitation or issue with the latest TWRP and OrangeFox recoveries compared to the LineageOS recovery, it would be good to know what that is. Something that apparently only affects one specific build and not all the others. And if that's the case, +1 to the other builds that aren't affected.

For one, none of them (appart from Aryan's unofficial OF) support Focaltech (fts_ts) touch devices... Yet they're still official Redmi Note 10 Pros.
I tried Aryan's unofficial Orange Fox recovery, and it's really nice.

I also tried Aryan's new Vanilla build 20230604 with his updated LineageOS recovery. I was able to install it from the flash drive, so that is good.

My point regarding "official" stuff is just that is what is recommended and supported. It doesn't necessarily mean something else is a problem, unless a problem has been documented. It just means the other stuff is not recommended and supported. If you're trying to support something, it's understood you want to minimize different variables.

What I stated above in post #366 still stands, though...

Could your share the last oFox recovery here please ? It's works with Aryan's Vanilla build ?
It is from this thread:

I didn't try it with Aryan's vanilla build, though, I tried it with Pulkit's. Since Aryan's LineageOS doesn't officially support Aryan's oFox recovery. :)

The updated LineageOS recovery is here:

It was fixed to show the external sd card.

@pnin , check in the redmi note 10 pro telegram's group if you want help Dev add FTS device :

"We are looking for people with the FTS touch panel. If you have it and can test kernels and send logs, message @altryan. Easiest way to check is to use the device HW info app under general>touchscreen. If your touch works on custom ROMs then you don't have the panel."

Official LineageOS is out now ( thanks to Aryan, Danielm and others) so this ROM is obsolete, just waiting the build by MicroG team ;)
The MicroG build is there now.

The MicroG build has been working for me. With magisk and the safetynet fix, it passes safetynet.

    lineage-20.0-20230906-microG-sweet
    fw_sweet_miui_SWEETGlobal_V14.0.4.0.TKFMIXM_8f4f7797e0_13.0
    Magisk.v26.3
    safetynet-fix-v2.4.0-MOD_1.3-microG

I'm not using AccA now, since the battery charge control is built-in to LineageOS.

After charging fully to 100%, I got about 6 days of light/normal use from 100% to 25% battery. That seems pretty good to me. And the battery stats look legit, without odd stuff taking up 200% + battery.

I often hear complaints that the battery is slow to charge, but I wonder if it's because of the indication on the screen. It usually says "Charging slowly" and gives a long estimate to charge completion. But in reality, it seems inaccurate.

I have a usb tester, and I can see it's charging at around 9V 2.5A ~ 22 watts. Not as fast as it could charge, but still pretty good and definitely not slow charging. See screenshot/pictures attached.

    SafetyNet Pass

If you want to pass SafetyNet check, you need install Magisk and module SafetyNet-fix

Optionally, you can add a certified fingerprint to your device with the module MagiskHidePropsConf

Check this very well explained post from @minax007

    Gcam

Only default camera from LineageOS is included (aperture), so don't ask to add another one (Leica, Miui, etc...) and install yourself.

You can find good setup for Gcam in the @Laptapper post

You can directly use my config for Gcam LMC R16 and this zip with config XML and library.

Can we have support group (e.g. on Telegram) for these ROM development for better communication?
Maybe I am too old for that but I prefer XDA more. I did not find Telegram groups to be better communication. Thousands of not relevant posts daily. A huge part of them are 'off topic' or non-English spoken.
    Just my two cents.

I send a email today to LineageOS Team ;)

Now the March patch is included and no needs to update before April patch so perhaps I will try to compile any microg version ;)
