Just to let you know all, this wasn't my first OTA update. Previous just worked fine and there's nothing noticeable changed on my phone since the last OTA so I don't understand what went wrong this time... I've just added a locking pattern to access my phone, I don't know if it matters...

Try to flash stock boot.img and dtbo.img. Some kernels and modules conflict with new update. If it's not work, open TWRP and take backup
There's no way this could have happened. Don't modify the ROM in case you have. Not a single report of update failure other than you.
Custom Kernels, Magisk Or TWRP Modules. LSPosed, Different recovery. Disabling encryption by flashing DFE. There are so many ways this could have gone wrong. So I ask you, have you flashed any extra zip in twrp after flashing the ROM ?
Thanks for your help Dean : no I haven't flashed any extra. I allowed the update to load (no modification at all) agree to reboot, auto reboot in recovery (TWRP 3.7.0-12 20221018), the rom auto flashed (no failure message) then reboot to system and then, every time, gets stuck to the eye (with animated colors).... I do use Magisk but there was no problem with previous OTA update... Should I uninstall Magisk and/or reflash the full ROM? Will I loose my data?

Yes still in bootloop : unfortunately I can't access telegram with my phone and to get telegram on my PC I need a security code sent on my phone ;-) I'll see if I can borrow a phone from a friend then...
It didn't work : I flashed both and then reboot but got stuck on the first "RedmiI" screen. Thanks anyway.
I think I've been having issues with the battery since May update, battery runs out faster and the phone heats up quite a lot when I leave the phone on my pocket. Doesn't matter if there's nothing happening on the background phone will still discharge noticeably. After the update I followed instructions of optimizing battery for apps and restarted a couple of hours after that. Is there any way I could check what's wrong with my phone. I have always had Magisk and LSPosed and didn't have any issues with April update, pretty sure these issues started after updating to latest version.
Hey i Stück in bootloop. I come from Pixel expirience Rom with magisk. I dont have a Laptop now, so i have to Work only with the Phone. The Recovery IS from you. I think ITS because of the boot.img . Could you Upload the Stock Boot please?
Is it working properly on miui camera ? If yes then it's the problem of your application.
A new update will be released soon with Auto optimisation which is going to fix these battery drain and system lagging issues. Things will get better. Stay tuned

It's been a while that I have used custom roms in my phone. The last phone in which I used custom roms was redmi 2 prime. Then I bought this redmi note 8 pro aka begonia. And I bought this rn8p on 2019 and was still running on stock miui.
Oh mahn! I really appreciate your support and hard work for this device. Now after unlocking the bl and flashing crdroid ,the phone is crazy fast and the stock Android experience is some feeling that one cannot express in words. The rom is fluid fast and till now there was no hiccups.
I recommend every rn8p user using the 2 year old miui stock rom to feel the taste of this costom rom.

Battery usage SS attached1Working great for me too, haven't done the rom thing since 2016. Biggest benefit has been getting rid of the bloat/adware, customisation and actually keeping apps like 3c battery monitor running instead of killing them like miui global was.
The only thing I miss is how miui handled multi windows/freeform. It was easy to switch an app from fullscreen to floating and back, and the 'shortcuts' for minimising and such (swipe to a corner etc.) were well implemented imo.
Stock freeform doesn't seem to allow switching an app back to fullscreen, tried the dev mode switches on and off too but it just doesn't very usable.
I've done the whole magisk/lsposed/shizuku thing to run mi-freeform, and it is better than stock freeform but seems to open apps in their own 'container' of sorts which doesn't allow switching between fullscreen and floating and has a few other issues.
I'm not sure how miui handled it under the hood but I'm curious, and wonder if there is a better option than mi-freeform to replicate it.
Overall very happy though, all network/nfc/camera etc is working and it feels like a new phone.1Great work!! Finally found a stable ROM for this device. Thanks for making this.
