CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

HEADS UP: Be sure you flash the gapps package with your rom. If you boot your rom, then go back and try to flash gapps after the fact, you're gonna have a bad time.

  • Audio (fixed not fully.see p.s.)
  • camera (front camera only 3.7, instead 5.0)
  • GPS (see p.s)
  • RIL (Calls) (see p.s)
  • Wi-Fi(see p.s)
  • Recent apps button (see p.s)
How to install:
  1. First of all install stock kk
  2. Reboot into CUSTOM recovery (philz or cwm)
  3. Factory reset
  4. Install the ROM
  5. Reboot

P.S. On latest build wifi, Ril, Audio(Incall audio not fixed), gps, camera fixed, you can find new build here . Fix for recent apps button

Testing Rom Cm11 for g530h :
Reported :
- Bluetooth working.
- Wifi is not working.
- Sim is not working.
- Gps location working . But not on/off Gps location on status bar.
- Apollo music play fc DSP manager.
- not camera.
- Call working.
- Gallery working.
I'M waiting bugs fixed on cm11
Thx you for hard work.

houston!

I flashed in custom recovery (philz cwm). And it boots to the cyanogenmod screen with the circle swirling around. After it stays on that screen for about 2min at the most, it tells me that the encryption is unsuccessful. It says i need to perform a factory reset and has a button about halfway down the screen that says "reset phone." But i did the factory reset in recovery , yet i cannot get any further than what i just explained. There is a good chance that it is my own fault though, being that this is my first full ROM that ive installed. Ive done various tweaks and mods on different devices up until this point, but i figured i might need a pointer or two somewhere in this process. So, any ideas on where the noob may have screwed up? Thanks in advance guys.:D:D

I'm gonna take a shot in the dark here and say that the fact I flashed a cm rom without also installing gapps may have a lot to do with why I had no luck on this. Hey, I can admit it when I'm a dumbass.....but can I get a quick yes or no on that please? I don't mind teaching myself and I don't mind learning the hard way. I'd rather not be sheltered anyway. But a hint as to whether or not I'm learning the correct information sure as hell wouldnt hurt. Thanks to anyone that helps. And to those that are too good to help: this is just a hobby to me and I got plenty of time.

I hope for us that the Cyanogenrom gonna work for us ! Because it's mean that we can make another CustomRom like CM12 etc !

    Install cyanogenmod 11 in SM G530H

    First sorry for the delay, excuse my English because I am Brazilian and I'm sorry to prolong this, because I do not know your level of expertise in installation of rom.

    The CyanogenMod ROM is based on stock 4.4
    The Lollipop Kit kat and the partitions are different and responsible for recovery to install only works if you have the rom stock (rom samsung 4.4) installed.
    First you must be sure of what to do.
    Download the rom stock 4.4 site (create an account or log in to download the file)
    ----> Http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-G530H/

    choice according to the baseband version from your mobile phone (if G53H0XCU SM or SM G53H0XXU)
    After downloading the rom extract the file and download the .zip I did upload (it contains the Odin and Recovery)

    download the CyanogenMod version

    fortuna3g if your baseband version is xxu
    and fortunave3g if your baseband version is XCU

    http://opengapps.org download google apps package (select ARM / 4.4 / Peak)

    Once you have all downloaded files hold the phone in download mode. ---> Turn off the phone and turn on by pressing down volume, home and power button

    Insert the USB cable into the computer and phone

    Extract the Odin and the phone in download mode and connected to your computer, open the odin PDA and select TWRP-SMG530H.tar (this is the recovery of the lollipop and you can use to back up your ROM with your files to phone memory or memory card (external SD
    *card) if you need not skip this step

    To enter recovery mode ->
    Turn off the phone and turn on by pressing volume up, home button and power button

    To back up your files and sistem'--> connect the phone in recovery mode, then select the option in the recovery backup.

    Select to backup - System, date and boot and choose where to save the file (by default will be saved in the device's internal memory but in "Storage" it is possible to choose to save to external memories)
    After making your choices go to "Swipe to backup"
    Once you have your saved backup exit download mode and if you have saved in the internal memory pass your backup to your computer

    *Place the ROM CyanogenMod 11 (file downloaded from Jenkins site) in your phone's external memory,
    (If you have no external memory I can explain how to install the ADB android or adb sideload)


    Extract the Odin and open, select the samsung rom file for PDA on Odin, wait for the odin do the extraction of ROM, put your phone into download mode, then it appears on Odin ->
    <OSM> Checking MD5 finished sucessfully ..
    <OSM> Leave CS ..
    place start in odin
    Wait for the installation and if some error happens just put your phone in download mode and place again "start" in Odin
    After installation if after a few minutes the phone call and see a black screen make the installation again

    After already installed samsung rom successfully (cell takes about 5 minutes to start after making the installation of the ROM)
    Turn off the phone and put in download mode, Odin select PDA and search by file PhilzTouch.tar
    Do the same before but this time procidimento not need to appear <OSM> Checking MD5 finished sucessfully ..
    <OSM> Leave CS .. in Odin
    Made the installation of Recovery, put your phone into recovery mode and select "Wipe and format Options"
    select "Clean Install to the new ROM"
    Go back to the recovery menu and select install zip, choose the CyanogenMod ROM file and install, allow the installation to complete and select "Install Zip" and choose the GAPPS file after that just select "Reboot system now" and use the rom cm 11

    I know how to fix wifi and it work for me now, but I dnt know how to fix ril

    Everyone needs to stop begging the devs to fix things. They're aware of the issues and are actively investigating and working to patch them. Development is hard. Chill out and let them do their thing. If your not willing to provide logcats and critical feedback, don't bother complaining "it doesn't work fix it fix it fix it!" Your frustrating the devs, not helping them. I've been in that situation. Sit back, relax and watch the magic happen. Got a problem with how things are progressing? Pro tip: don't use it yet! It's clearly not ready for DD use unless all your looking for is a really small tablet. Keep an eye on the OP and see if things have progressed. If not, come back after a week. Building from scratch takes MONTHS of trial and error. If your not gonna be constructive, then sit on the sideline.
