cifs support

Any chance of adding the cifs module to the kernel?
or maybe as a separate download?
I really need this but can't figure out how to compile it

The official 5.0.2 ROM of A5000 has been released out. And it seems the device won't get any further update in the future. Could anybody make a CM12.1 for the A5000 variant? Since there are so many A5000 users in China.

I have Samsung Galaxy A500FU running on Lollipop 5.0.2, rooted and installed custom recovery through TWRP.
When I try to install this ZIP via TWRP I get: "Can't install this package on top of incompatible data".

I wiped the dalvik, cache etc. and formatted the system - TWICE, but still get this error.
Help please. Thanks.

Do a complete wipe, wipe all apart from ext SD card and internal. Has to be a clean install so backup you current ROM 1st then it's a full setup, just like when you got the phone.

cyanogen A500g rom

i had installed A500fu rom in A500g
Wifi is not getting connected
hotspot is also not working
NO SIM connection. No network on the top.
Kindly someone help me for deodex rom

    What's not working / current issues:

    * FM radio is partially working

    Requirements:

    * You must have custom recovery to install this ROM (see section "How to install")
    * You must have bootloader and modem from Samsung's 5.0.2 ROM

    How to install:

    1) You're going to need a custom recovery, follow instructions here: http://xdaforums.com/galaxy-alpha/help/recovery-teamwin-recovery-project-twrp-t3182214
    2) Use the download link provided above to download the latest build available
    3) Use the download for Google apps to download Google apps (optional)
    4) Put both .zip files on your device (either internal or external storage)
    5) Boot your device into recovery mode
    6) Make backup (if needed)
    7) Wipe data/factory reset (not needed if updating from previous releases, but is necessary if upgrading between CM versions (example, cm-12.0 to cm-12.1 or from stock to CM)
    8) Install the ROM .zip file
    9) Mount /system, install Google apps (optional)
    10) Done.

    Currently this works only on SM-A500FU, but there are plans on creating a common Samsung MSM8916 repository and add support for other variants or even other Samsung MSM8916 devices.
    If you want to (read: can) help adding support for other variants, send me a PM or better e-mail.

    The only requirements are that you:
    1. Have time to test
    2. Know how to take a logcat / kmsg ( = use ADB in general)
