>There's some little life in LOS 16 but nothing extraordinary compared to my other devices
What kind of devices have so ~ wild ~ development going on? ( I'm especially interested in ones on 15.1; unless your idea of "little life" is just official/unofficial status and not actual work being done )
16.0 is pretty much ready to be in initial batch of official devices whenever 16.0 goes live. Like ~2d ago we got rid of last real blocker which was my temporary lazy kernel so I don't really know what else is to be done there that is actually device specific.

Does this mean that OP6 will get official LOS 16.0 support?

So I see that this is the way to flash a new build as update is not an option yet. Any idea if cloud update will be available in the future?

Thx @LuK1337

Was my first A/B Update and it was a bit tricky but managed it.

My active slot is A

1. Reboot to Recovery
2. Reboot to slot B
3. Flash the new build & TWRP installer
4. Reboot to recovery (now automatically slot A)
5. Flash Magisk & GApps
6. Reboot to system

This rom is affected by the vulnerability topjohnwu discovered. Source: https://www.xda-developers.com/procfs-leak-lg-oneplus-huawei-xiaomi-asus/

Topjohnwu also made an app that fixes this https://github.com/topjohnwu/ProcGate/releases/tag/1.0

Not a terrible vulnerability but still a vulnerability. I ran the Procgate app which showed processes that should have been hidden. Applied the fix and boot script and all seems fixed. This was on the latest October build btw
Old news. Development has shifted to pie anyway.

Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using XDA Labs

The article is a week old. I'm sure there are plenty of people still using 8.1 LOS based ROMs. LOS 16 probably is affected too

Thank you. There are, especially as LOS 16 is still missing many features that LOS 15 has. Not to mention no official builds of LOS 16 exist anyways.

Crashdump Error Again and again

hello trying to flash Lineage 15.1 last build.
But getting crashdump error again and again.

Flashing on this OOS firmware: https://imgur.com/a/h3gtPQx

Getting this error after flashing los 15.1 zip
https://i.imgur.com/L00ExQZ.jpg

Steps followed.
Flashed oos 5.1.11 is msmtool
unlocked using fastboot oem unlock
booted to system oos
booted to bootloader
fastboot boot bluspark twrp
flashed los 15.1 zip
reboot to bootloader
then hotboot bluspark twrp again
then get crashdump error.

is there anything i am missing?

Followed these steps exactly. but with blu spark twrp because official twrp did not hotboot and shows black screen.

You need to flash OOS twice first. Try finding the last 8.x release in the OnePlus forum for this. DO NOT do this with a 9.x OOS rom.
You need to wipe your phone as well.
Afterwards flash LOS again.

Hello @Forage81

I find 5.1.11 OTA zip in the OnePlus and XDA forums.
I have to flash this again in twrp as phone is already 5.1.11 and then reboot to system and flash lineage after booting to twrp?

If you already have this version installed than it should not really be needed, but it doesn't hurt to do it just to be sure you have that version anyway.
You do it to have the latest compatible firmware.

So flash it twice workout booting into Android in between, only directly to recovery again.
And do not forget to wipe.

Okay.

I will flash 5.1.11 OTA in TWRP over 5.1.11 Software Again
boot to android
boot to fastboot
boot to twrp
wipe factory reset
flash los 15.1 zip
boot to fastboot
boot to recovery
flash opengapps
boot to system

Is it correct?

Twice, flash OOS two times. Yes, this might sound redundant, but your phone has two slots.

The boot to fastboot is not needed. You can boot to TWRP directly if you make sure you flash TWRP after each LOS/OOS ROM flash.
Also no need to reboot between flashing the ROM and gapps.

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 8.1 (Oreo), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

    Instructions :
    • Download the latest build and gapps
    • Boot to recovery
    • Flash the latest build
    • Boot to recovery again
    • Flash gapps
    • Reboot
    Downloads :
    Reporting Bugs
    • DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
    • Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
    • If it is a random reboot, grab /sys/fs/pstore/console-ramoops and /sys/fs/pstore/dmesg-ramoops-0. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
    • If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues. Any bug not reported in the bug report format below may be ignored.

Adds DT2W support and makes the slider behaves like stock

Do you like the feedback when the slider changes? There is a /small/ vibration every time but I don't really like it
