LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 8.1 (Oreo), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

WARNING:

• If you find any bugs, bring a logcat. Logs are helpful....
• If your problem cannot be reproduced without using Root modules or Xposed, don't report it! The same goes with custom kernels.

  Prerequisites:
  
• The latest version of TWRP. This is an absolute requirement.
• Your device (it better be a Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 (Sprint)).

How to flash this ROM:
So you really want to do this, huh? That must mean you accept the risks specified in the disclaimer, and that you read the warning.
From other custom ROMs (this assumes you already unlocked your bootloader a long time ago):

1. Download the zip file for your device (link is below).
2. Reboot into TWRP (Volume Up + Home + Power or Advanced Restart).
3. Make a backup (optional).
4. Perform a factory reset (Wipe > Swipe to Factory Reset).
5. Flash the ROM you just downloaded.
6. Flash OpenGApps for Android 8.1 if you want Google services (optional).
7. If you want root, flash Magisk or SuperSU
8. Reboot and proceed normally with installation.

Can I flash this on my T210R Tab 3?

You sir has restored my love in this little bugger the SM-217S. I found it a couple of months back hiding in a drawer. I figured I'd use it when I'm watching YouTube in bed. I've been on Resurrection Remix 7.1 and could believe it was so slow. Now this thing is has new life in it again.

so i dare asking you if you are willing to make a rom for a Samsung Tab 3 lite SM-T110. My wife uses this and its very, very slow on the stock rom.

Can you take some logs when you insert your sim, and try to toggle data?

I'm guessing a kernel for Lineage OS 15.1 wouldn't work with Lineage OS 14.1 ? I'm not ready to make the leap onto Oreo yet, but I'll be damned if I can find a good, non-stock kernel for LOS 14.1 on my SM-T217S. I've tried repeatedly to compile my own from all the sources that are readily available, but the OS just hangs saying that Lineage OS is starting... and that's just the stock source with the specific commits for this device. I can't figure out if it's the toolchain I'm using or what.

Thanks for the time and effort that you've put into this, though. Having begun to try to do this kind of thing myself has really given me a new appreciation for the work that you and other XDA members do. Hopefully one day I'll be compiling my own ROM builds for y'all too.

Kernel source compiles based upon device. The kernel from 14.1 or 15.1 should be interchangeable. If the ROM boots to the initial screen then its probably not a kernel issues but another issue why it won't boot. You have to take a adb log and look at the output to determine why its hanging.

With SIM inserted I see a persistent notification atop the notification panel that says No SIM card - No service. When I remove and re-insert the SIM, the message remains. Because of this I am unable to toggle cellular data on and off using the status bar Mobile data switch or in Settings-Mobile Network. All items are greyed out under Settings-Mobile Network. When I access the "Testing" menu by dialing *#*#4636#*#* and then select Tablet Info I am unable to Enable Data Connection. I recall that after the first boot after flashing your ROM the Cellular setup wizard never started even after removing and reinserting the SIM card. I don't think this is relevant but I did not flash any GAPPS package. I did flash the file 2016.02.08 Freedompop_APNs_fix.zip which I obtained from a different thread and has worked on other ROMs. My SIM is for FreedomPop which uses the Sprint data network. I did collect logcat and Bug Report files to share with you if you think they may help. Let me know if I may provide any additional information. Thanks!

It might work if you flashed a custom kernel but the blobs are slightly different so idk the answer. It would be up to you, I can't provide support as I don't have that device.

Thanks, the SIM did not show on the previous build either.

So I been looking at the radio files I used. I am thinking they would work. But they were made for a different device but do work with serranotexx which I assumed would be work with this device. Obviously I believe this is the issue, I will try to do a rebuild semi soon to see if I can sort that out. The hardware is slightly different between the s4 and this.

Edit: FIXED, I edited the file and removed the version verification.
