LineageOS 18.1 for Samsung Galaxy A50
LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 11, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

Instructions :

• Download the latest build and patched boot.img(if you want magisk)
• Reboot to twrp
• (optional) backup boot,dtbo,system,data,vendor image
• format data
• wipe system,data,cache
• flash the latest build
• flash gapps
• reboot to system

Question: Does the fingerprint reader work? I know it requires a proprietary blob/driver to work..
I know this might seem lazy but I don't wanna flash a ROM before checking if everything works and I have to wipe everything.

Alright nevermind the fingerprint reader does work, however encryption dosen't work, phone simply performs a soft reboot .

Well. Sorry to say I have for the first time ever completely bricked my Android device with this manual. I don't know what did it, but I was kind of surprised to see a Vendor partition that needed to be replaced. I may have missed something there.

Anyway. The boot is stuck at the first appearance of the Android logo. No matter what I try. When I completely drain the battery, I reconnect the phone to the charger and it will show the circle with the flash in the top. And that's where the screen get's stuck again. Never showing any percentage of charging (no 0%, no 1%). EOL. Like I said, first time ever.

I have been patience with my TAB 2 10.1 for over a year because I knew I would get a chance to make it whow up in my PC some day, and I did. So, it's working again. But this A50 is lost unless someone can tell me how get out of this stuck screen.

And I will always remember thinking: 'Flash Vendor'? Is that wise with a Samsung device in this day and age?

It isn't bricked completely. I faced the same issue. It was exactly the same case. You just need to connect your mobile to PC and then try perfectly with the button combinations to get into twrp, for me it wasn't going into twrp after so many tries but in one of the attempts it booted into twrp and from there i could install the rom properly again.
The tricky thing here is to boot it into twrp with the button combinations. It will take multiple attempts but once it enters, you can make it work.

it does work. You just need to be in dark mde and should have max brightness.

Location is now fixed and it can be used as daily driver unlike before(according to testers).

Instructions:
-(Optional)Backup your files and VENDOR IMAGE
-Flash the ROM
-Flash the Boot.img (if manually provided)
-(Optional) Flash Gapps(recommended: OpenGapps NANO)
-Reboot to system

I'm having some trouble. I flashed all three of those files in this order. I used the boot.img from the "enforcing_magisk_boot" google drive folder. Then in LineageOS i installed the magisk apk. Now inside the app, what exactly do I need to do? It offers me two options in "Additional Setup": normal mode and recovery mode. Which one do I need to use? Also the boot.img was already the patched file, so I don't need to do that I assume. So I guess I have to use "direct install"? Or should I do none of these? Root is already working, but I cannot access Magisk modules.

Hi, you may want to use latest mint kernel. It works great with root and you don't need to update it.

Alright, I did install the kernel, but I still cannot access Magisk modules. :/

Okay, I had Magisk app 25 installed (from Github I think), but in the update panel it said that the newest available version is 24.3. So I downgraded the app to 24.3 and now I can access modules. However, it only offers the option to install modules from storage, it doesn't show any downloadable modules.

Edit: okay, may bad. Apparently this is a deliberate change by Magisk.

I tried to enable Zygisk by going through with Magisk's "Additional Setup" and selecting "direct install", and now I'm in a bootloop.

Edit: Okay, I reinstalled LineageOS. Can someone explain how I can get Zygisk working?

Hi, you may want to use latest mint kernel. It works great with root and you don't need to update it.

Magisk 25 doesn't boot on a50 yet

if magisj 24.3 is installed then update the app to it

I have auto-updates turned off in the Play Store settings, but whenever I reboot, Play Store re-enables auto-update without my consent.

I've been trying to reinstall the rom, but if i use the "permissive" boot.img, my phone freezes while flashing Gapps, and if I use the "enforcing" boot.img, it freezes during boot. What the heck?

Edit: yeah I think my phone is just dead. It keeps crashing for no apparent reason even in other roms, and even Odin fails with a write error.
