Okay, I did your suggestion. I installed twrp-3.1.1.0-FBE-angler.img.

Then I followed the rest of the instructions and had the same exact result.

BTW, I had used Magisk 20.4, just didn't get the .4 in. . . . LOL
I also attempted to just install the ROM and then boot into that. Someone else had suggested to do that and then add GAPPS afterwards. No change.

Also attempted to do the entire process without using Magisk. In other words, to not root it.

I'm not sure this qualifies as a BLOD since it boots back into recovery instead of the bootloader.

I'm very frustrated here. . . . Thanks for the help, btw.

You should be using TWRP 3.3.1.0-FBE-10-angler image, not 3.1.10, or was that just a typo?

If just a typo I would suggest you fastboot flash the last factory image (Dec. 2018) and see if it boots. If it does then you don't have the BLOD and you should go through your installation steps again:
TWRP 3.3.1.0-FBE-10-angler
Wipe dalvik, cache, system, data
Flash Rom & GApps
Format data
Reboot

If the last factory image doesn't boot then you probably have the BLOD. In that case:
Use the 4core TWRP in Post #3
Wipe dalivk, cache, system, data
Flash Rom & GApps
Format data

I'm also getting the non-boot issue.

My device is confirmed NOT to have the BLOD, and I'm using the FBE version of TWRP.

Followed the install instructions to the letter, wiping partitions and formatting /data.

Format /data
Copy ROM & Gapps from PC to phone
Flash ROM
Flash GAPPS
Reboot to system

Then it sticks on the Lineage boot screen for about 5 mins before booting back into recovery.

Yep you're doing it wrong.

Here, Follow These:

- Reboot To twrp.
- Wipe System Data Cache/Dalvik.
- Transfer Roms and Gapps.
- Flash rom along with Gapps.
- Goto Wipe > Format Data then type "Yes" .
- Reboot To recovery One more time.
- Reboot System.

It'll boot for sure.

From the get go, I would like to confirm that yes. There was an attempt to go official.
So far, changes on gerrit are pushed and are being polished when necessary.
By no means is this device confirmed to go for official (especially since it is a legacy device, needing lots of patches and hacks).
Currently we are paused as the team are still deciding about my and angler's future at LineageOS.

However do not take this news badly by any way.
This experience brought about the rework of a new and polished angler tree, specifically for LineageOS.
This is due to the team having the need to adapt the tree the official way. Therefore during this month, I have reworked the tree to become more polished and stable.
For now, angler will continue to receive unofficial support, with major behind the scenes changes found in this July update.
Kindly excuse the late arrival due to all these new changes being adapted.

Everything is working just as expected, found these bugs so far.

- Can't play video not even camera recorded video in stock gallery nor in google photos or any other gallery app.
- Live Display not working.

- Stock Play store camera crashing while switching to Video Mode.

Is it only me? Anyone please confirm.

Can confirm, video playback is heavily borked at the moment.
I updated from June Update via OTA.

• Slide v6.5 : Cannot play GIFs nor videos
• NewPipe 0.19.8 : Cannot play any YouTube video (see [1] below)
• Simple Gallery Pro v6.15.2 : Cannot play GIFs nor videos
• Stock Android Gallery v1.1.40030 : Cannot play GIFs nor videos
• Instagram 152.0.0.25.117 : Some videos in my feed play, most don't
• Frost 2.4.5 : Cannot play any video from my feed
• SlimSocial for Twitter 3.2 : Cannot play any video from my feed
• Firefox Focus 8.5.1 : Playback of GIFs and videos is okay on some websites (e.g. 9GAG) but videos silently fail to play on YouTube. Videos on Reddit fail to play with a "No video with supported format and MIME type found" error message from the player.
• VLC 3.2.12 : Successful playback from either local storage, SMB share or YouTube link

- Live Display not working.

I do not use Live Display, can't confirm.

- Stock Play store camera crashing while switching to Video Mode.

I don't use this app, can't confirm.
However, OpenCamera v1.48.1 and Stock LineageOS camera app (org.lineageos.snap - v2.02.037) are able to switch between photo and video mode, and record video without crashing.

There is no "System updates" like in official roms

The new OTA updater is available in Settings > System > Advanced > Updater

This rom is driving me mad. Bloody impossible to install gapps. Bootloops instantly no matter the version i try. Runnin lineage w/o gapps is perfect...

Wipe dalvik/cache/system (/data if clean flashing)
Install Rom & GApps (Latest OpenGApps Micro is what I use)
Format /data if coming from another rom or stock
Boot

Literally what i'm doing. Works perfectly as long as i dont use gapps. The second i flash gapps it will start bootlooping.
