If I am upgrading to this rom from the last official build, do I need to wipe my phone?
Yes! Follow the steps on #2

It seems like this ROM has been abandoned.

Is there any other alternative stable Nexus 6p ROM that regularly updates?
No it's not! But u can try other roms as your liking.

Hi, stupid question.
Is there a reason why this isn't an official lineage os build. Haven't looked too much but from what I've seen, it appears that there's no official build because no one is maintaining it but at least according to some posts higher up in this thread, it is being developed here.

Is it just a difference in pace and resources, or is there some actual hardware specifics (a la the nexus 5) that make it more difficult to the point where it's not worth it.
Thanks

Current as to the middle of November 2020, the only active ROM being developed I can find for the Nexus 6P is Carbon ROM http://get.carbonrom.com which is only Android 9 but very clean and everything seems to be working. It's not my daily driver anymore, so I can't say definitively. The latest monthly update and release is October 21.

Very glad to stand corrected. I must have missed the Android 10 listing and only seen that Android 9 had been discontinued on Resurrection Remix when I looked a few weeks ago. Previously I had been using Pixel Experience ROM on Android 10 but it has been abandoned for months. I'm quite pleased with Carbon ROM so far.

Thanks for this nice ROM and your continous support for the Nexus 6P which I appreciate a lot! So I made a donation to you, hope you like it! Maybe it is a motivation to try to make this ROM official! ;)
Oh it's you!
I was keeping an eye out to see who sent such a fruitful, generous donation. Thanks for your kind generosity. As for official, I kept pestering the team, but it seems as if I'm being ignored...
Again, fully appreciate your help and will definitely improve on where is to fix. :D

You are extremly welcome! :)

So what is your guess why they are not reacting in your input? I mean the state of the ROM is imho as stable as for other systems! Are they concerned that people would blame LineageOS for bricking the problematic Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 powered devices? I mean if people still using this devices now they know about the death rate and would take the risk!

Sorry, the last 8.1 stock. My 6p was bootlooping before so I tried to fix that with installing the twrp and boot img that was linked on here along with the most recent 17.1 rom, gapps, and the radio/vendor/bootloader images as well.
