Official is officially supported by LineageOS and is updated weekly (nightly build) and it usually stable, Unofficial are not updated as weekly as official LineageOS, they may contain stuff not allowed in official LineageOS like device spoof on Google app, use custom kernel instead of pref+, other customizations, depends on the builder, Unofficial build will be stable without errors or opposite. They are not as stable as official
Thanks for the reply.
I have a new question : do you know where i can find help to choose between lineageos unofficial (which i historically knew.. but is unofficial...), or evolutionX official or voltageOS official , etc...

Thanks again
(and sorry if this is not the good forum to ask this question).

Choosing between os is up to you. but in terms of stability, I believe LineageOS more than other os

Hello,

it's me again (sorry ;) )

To install lineageos on raphael, Can somebody explain :
- is it necessary to "oem unlock" in the phone developer options, before doing anything ?
- If i am already on the latest official Xiaomi MIUI version, is this step necessary : "Flash the latest Android 11 firmware of your device variant" ?
- if previous answer is "yes", which "android 11 firmware variant" do i have to choose : fastboot type or recovery type ? global or EEA (how can i know my current variant) ?
- I made a full backup with command "./adb backup -apk -obb -shared -all -keyvalue -f mi9.ab" => can you confirm that, if any problem happens, i can restore my actual phone config (xiaomi MIUI os) with "adb restore [MyBackup.ad]" (after a "adb reboot recovery" command i suppose ?)
- After successful installation of lineageos, will i be able to restore the "google account backup" i made with the google backup tool available in the settings of my current os (miui) ? I would like to be sure to be able to restore my "google authenticator" config for example..

Thanks again,
dJu

So I also did it exactly as in the instructions on GitHub and it also does not work for me via the recovery.
Fastboot -w did not bring success either.

But with Orangefox it worked immediately. Very strange.

Thanks once again for your work. The only issue (if we can call it that) for me is that the night light is too bright, even at its maximum intensity. No biggie though, I use the very outdated f.lux app, that still do its job.
I'm using the default AOSP values, it can be tweaked though.
    Hello @Englezos

if I use the internal update function, will the recovery be updated automatically or do I always
You have to manually update the recovery. Making it updating automatically means I have to force LineagOS recovery for everyone.
Hey, thanks so much for the great ROM. I would appreciate if you could take a look at these issues:

I use auto night light on a scheduled time and on the latest update, for some reason it's reversed, it turns on when it should turn off vice versa. (User workaround is to reverse times too)

And this is a long standing bug, that I think was mentioned before, when the clock is in the middle of the status bar, it works ok for a while but then the notifications start behaving like the clock is on the left corner. So there's a blank space in the corner and if you have a lot of notifications, they overlap with the clock
Auto nightlight on scheduled time is fixed for the next release. About the status bar notification issue did you reported it to LineageOS team? It seems this implementation behaves like that for notch devices.

I also have this issue. Only happens ringing other mobile users who have VoLTE enabled.
About VoLTE ringback tone reports maybe its carrier dependant? I've seen couple reports online on devices like Google Pixel, Oneplus and Xiaomi. I've tested that personally on iPhone 12, Redmi Note 6 pro and Google Pixel 6a none of these devices had ringback tone when VoLTE functionality was enabled on my carrier. Any suggestions is welcomed.
Hello, thanks for this rom, really loving it. But for some reason I can't use dropbox app, after login screen it's shows nothing, after restart it doesn't get through start up screen with logo.
I've installed dropbox and logged in successfully.
When I make an outgoing call, there's no ringing sound. There's just silence for several seconds until the other person answers. Has anyone else experienced this?

EDIT: After a bit of testing, I've worked out that it only occurs when ringing mobile numbers (not landlines) and with VoLTE enabled. As soon as VoLTE is disabled, I hear the ringing sound.

Can say this is the perfect rom for me. Stability and battery life is out of this world.

    Kudos to OP!

Just did an OTA update from January version to May version without any problems.

I'll only needed to reflash the latest recovery by hand (as I only was booting to fastboot).

But now Magisk isn't detected by the magisk manager app, I've reflashed magisk trough the recovery (adb sideload magisk.zip) but still, the magisk manager doesn't detect it.
Anyone got an idea how to solve this problem?

    So far I've tried:
    - reflashing Magisk 26.1 (and installing the corresponding manager)
    - flashing Magisk 25.2 (and installing the corresponding manager)
    - clearing the cache of the manager
    - clearing the device cache via recovery
    EDIT:
    - patching the boot.img via the manager and reflashing also doesn't work (tried with magisk 25.2 and 26.1)

Also, the sideloading procedure in the recovery said that everything was working (found ramdisk, patched boot.img, flashed boot.img)

    I'm stupid..
Had an old, hidden Version of Magisk still installed, after deleting that version everything works...

It's possible to change the night light values in the system, like is there any XML or other file that I can simply increase the temperature numbers!? All other roms I've tried have a perfect night light temperature, only Los has that fking bright temperature at its maximum intensity.
The values has to be changed by device tree side. Can you list out which ROMs have the perfect values? So I can have a look.

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 13, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.
