CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review.

sound and video playback?
Sound can be fixed with the mixer paths from the stock ROM. Videos are perfect

I have been adjusting things and making it perfect for my use... Its fast nothing crashes so far the camera is the only bug I've noticed. If I find and others I will tell u but so far its nice :)

sub, rotation/sensors and root still need fixing. what kernel source are you using, in rotation toggle landscape is missing.
only selects portrait and auto.

Z, did you get rotation/sensors working, if so how?

m
I decided most fixes are for the developers to figure out lol i cause bootloops

If you need to rotate your screen google play has apps for now

I was able to install this and have the camera issue also - but everything works pretty good so far. I edited the updater script also. I first backed up my TouchWiz rom with Philz ClockworkMod which I already had installed as my recovery. I edited the updater script and saved in unix format with notepad plus. I basically deleted everything in the updater-script file beginning with "assert" to the second semi-colon. I save the file with notepad plus in unix format and rezipped the rom into a modified version. I tried to flash the modified zip with ClockworkMod but when the rom booted in was stuck in a bootloop. I then installed TWRP as the recovery reflashed the modified rom, rebooted and CyanogenMod 12.1 booted up. I also had to reroot it with ClockworkMod and install Chainfire's SU and update the bionary in SU. I also installed Busybox. I uploaded the modified version of the rom to dropbox and here is the link https://www.dropbox.com/s/nydpcdqg8tfjosl/cm-12.1-20150430-UNOFFICIAL-milletwifi.MODIFIEDzip?dl=0 Try flashing this modified zip along with the gapps zip and see if it works. It takes a while for the rom to get all of its settings going for the first try or so. I had my TouchWiz rom backed up on google and restored all my apps automatically during google play setup. I then reinstalled Philz ClockworkMod and after my new CyanogenMod 12.1 is fully tweeked I will just back it up with Philz ClockworkMod also. Now I can switch between CyanogenMod and TouchWiz pretty quickly with RomManager.

Just wanted to say thank you. Finally got access to my computer and was able to install LP. Seems very stable, everything but the camera works. Video playback as well as sound and rotation work. Not sure if I needed to, but I installed the kernel from moonbutt as well as gapps after the ROM install.
Edit: quick question. What does the star by the WiFi indicate?
